I'm having less and less faith in both of them with each trailer.

They probably did but cut it out for marketing stunts.

Or they actually haven't made it yet. Making a game is a tough process, and you always have a low priority list of cool stuff you want to include but don't have time or money to do so. Every game that is released is not finished, you can never finish a game because you could keep on adding stuff to it. So they will probably add it while the game is gold (meaning done, but going through ratings and printing and distribution) and release it soon after the game is out.

I really like Batman and Arkham games, they're usually very fun. This one seems like it has everything I always wanted in a Batman game plus it refines every other element of the Arkham games into something that is hopefully the best one. Plus Batmobile, Scarecrow is back and it looks amazing.

They really nicely mix various gameplay elements. Simple combat, simple stealth, simple platforming, simple "puzzle" solving or better yet adventure elements, but these elements keep up changing to form a really diverse game that constantly changes the pace and keeps things interesting.

They also have horror or weird elements (Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, the overall look and atmosphere of Arkham City/Asylum), they're a love letter to everything Batman and have a really fun navigational system (at least City).
