Is there any reason to use cutting weapons with palicos? When I give them both blunt, they tend to consistently KO the monster at least once per hunt. Cutting doesn't really do anything.

Its fun to use on some hunts and you can squeeze both on one set sometimes, especially when you don't need S+1.
There's also a really nice skill I saw on excavated weapons that gives you punish draw and sheathing in one skill.

The reason I don't like CB is because, if handled right, it does just about everything better than anyone else.

Impact phials do fixed damage SCALING WITH RAW (that gunlances and bowguns fail to do), fucking stupid amounts of KO, it has absurd reach (both horizontal and vertical), autoguards (which is really just an insult to GLers who liked the autoguard function of P3rd GLs), counters, but more importantly you can ignore the counter and it'll just keep blocking in succession too if you don't evade or attack, something Lance doesn't do. In fact, the autoguard points will counterattack for every successful block even if you don't do anything, without actually breaking the guard. And this is on top of potentially dealing fucking massive damage, either elemental or fixed with KO.

Oh, and it blocks as well as the lance, but also gains blade mode charge when blocking even if it also loses sharpness.

It's a cool weapon sure, but I think it's too many weapons right now. I have no fucking clue why it was made when there's still problems with the other transforming weapon. It steps on fucking everyone's niche.

I'm convinced someone let their twelve year old son come in to work and design that thing.
