Mediocre, unresponsive combat.
Mediocre, bland magic system.
Guilds are too short and too easy to burn through. I shouldn't be able to become archmage without knowing how to cast Expert Level spells, and I shouldn't be able to become Harbinger without having any martial prowess.
The cities are far too small; I'm pretty sure Balmora is larger than Solitude.
The roleplaying elements are pretty sparse, and there are very few options for religious characters. What if I want to be a penitent alcoholic working for divine favor?
Alchemy still occupies this weird space where it's incredibly useful but still ludicrously common.
No regional economy or trade routes.
There's very little "small time" work. Even the earliest quests involve you killing hordes of undead or bandits.
Dialogue and writing are mediocre for the most part.
It's still more fun than Morrowind, though.

Yes but I couldn't stand the brown nosing and ass kissing in oblivion, but in skyrim you can actually see the effect your choices have in the world, replacing of yarls and guards after the cival war quest, bringing the elderglram tree back to life. In oblivion it felt like they had to remind you about what you've done because the world didn't reflect tour accomplishments.

It's a meme about how stealth is broken and, since archery receives bonuses from stealth and is generally intended to be used in conjunction, it, too is broken. But nothing is more broken than dual-wielding daggers with all the Stealth perks. You can literally just crouch in front of an enemy and get a stealth crit.

- Combat system is one of the most shallow in gaming. Even more shallow than trash like AssCreed.

Skyrim has literally only one thing going for it and it's the game's scale. It is a large world and it does feel like there are a lot of things happening in that world, and that feeling alone can keep you immersed for a good 30 hours or more.

I'm the anon you replied to. With the damage multipliers and enchanting, stealth archery is incredibly powerful. Stealth in general is an easy way to get ridiculous damage at little to no risk.

If you treat Bethesda games as 80% complete frameworks for modding into your ideal sandbox game within the given theme, you can get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

If you buy them on a console, you kinda get stuck with their shitty choices, but it can still be fun. The trick is to create your own fun by setting rules for yourself to roleplay by.

Don't be the arch mage dragonborn head of all guilds with 100 skill in everything.

Pick a life and stick to it for a while.
and install rape mods.

I'm RP'ing as a bosmer ranger on expert with HUD, crosshairs, and autosave off, and I only save after sleeping. Plus I don't use health potions or restoration magic so I don't mind the advantage. Also wearing fur armor(smithed to legendary) , and I'm using a forsworn bow(with deadric arrows tho)
