Why aren't there more video games where I can play as Kuwabara?
Why is old anime so good?
Like HnK, GTO, Sailor Moon, DragonBall, JoJo OVAs (DIO fight), Ranma, Berserk (the powerpoint slideshow) etc.
They were fucking great. Nowadays its just moeblob bullshit.
Granted there's a lot of moeblob lately but there are some gems out there. Katanagatari is still one of my favorite shows.
Man, I'm watching the episode where Genkai fights Toguro again. Holy shit the Dark Tournament is one of the best shounen arcs of all time.
Anime watching metacontrarians will just call you a cherrypicker and tell you how there's all sorts of good non-moeblob anime and how the "good times" was like 99.9% moeshit too before going back to exclusively watching their little girl slice of life shit.
How many episodes does it have, i wanted to see it all through but im finishing KLK?
Also the gba game is ok nothing to envy FFTA
I still own a copy of this game
it was like DBZ Budokai but with YYH skins
fucking adored this game
fucking ADORED this anime
is completely fucking right
I had a bootleg multi-game cart for my Gameboy back in 1994. It was Yu-yu 2 I think, a vs battle game. I couldn't even make out what they were saying but damn, game was great.
This motherfucker was awesome. His throw was the best.
>tfw you see the Genkai/Toguro subplot
>tfw Kurama is your husbando and he gets his shit PUSHED IN by Karasu only to have power the fuck up by releasing Youko Kurama
This fucking show man...
Becasue people like /a/ Approved moeshit.
/a/ has shit taste in anime. they hate insperational animes like gurren laggan and only love slice of life shit because they have sad lived compared to /v/.
Edgy nostalgiafag shitposters will just call you a cherrypicker and tell you how all the examples you mentioned are exceptions to the rule and how the "good times" was like 99.9% innovative DONUT STEEL before going back to exclusively watching their little mahou shoujo / world-saving shounen.
I can do it too :^)
Old anime was great, I liked everything you listed, but the good stuff is still there, you just have to look for it.
Last anime I really enjoyed was Madoka Magica, Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and Oreimo and 2/3 of them have the moeblob look to them.
I watched 0-3 currently airing shows per season for the last 8 years.
> he doesnt know about sissy white boys threads
we love madoka
The Dark Tournament ends on episode 66. Honestly if you want to get the whole picture in the least amount of time just start at episode 22, but that's only if you already know most of the characters.
That's not the anime /v/ likes image. Here is the correct one.
>girls /v/ has slept with
>hopes and dreams
nah, there is like 1 or 2 shows which come out a season, then the rest of garbage and now you are going to say "End yourselves" I bet you eat all the shit the japs throw up at you.
Oh that's easy Jo-
>aren't based on a manga from before 2010
>tfw no Cowboy Bebop space adventure game
This is somehow not on the rpg list? Its basically pokemon with dead people.
You faggots don't really believe old anime is actually good, right? It has always been 90% garbage. It's just that everybody and their grandmas know all the best classics, but never ever bother to look for the good shit out today.
>Zankyou no Terror
Okay, nothing wrong with shit taste
Oh for the love of god
if you'd actually been to /a/ you would know this is closer to the truth
how does it feel to be a fat disgusting otaku faggot
pic related, even the creator of anime is disgusted by you
Does Shin Sekai Yori count?
It's based on a book, not a manga.
>falling for bait
Also, /v/ doesnt like Nichijou.
It's just commonly used as reaction pics because the whole show is about exaggerated reactions.
And why is there Endless 8? This belongs to /a/.
No, it's not. It's bad. It's very, very bad. It's the worst show I've ever watched, and I used to watch All My Children with my grandmother.
Aldnoah Zero is every thing that has ever been wrong with anime tied up into one package:
>lack of irony
>shitty fight scenes
To put it bluntly, Aldnoah Zero was a shitty version of Code Geass but without any sense of fun.
I've basically given up on anime right now. Manga just has so much more to offer.
DBZ always will have a special place in my heart, but yu yu hakusho is my favorite shonen anime.
I know it had some flaws because the author wanted to finish the story in the dark tournament and was forced by shonen jump to keep going but still.
>Faye missions based around stealth and hiding in plain sight, as well as relying on charisma.
>Spike missions are third person brawlers and shootouts.
>Jet missions are Phoenix Wright style investigations.
>Ed missions are weird hack puzzles, and trippy ventures into the internet.
>Spike, Jet, and Faye all have various piloting missions.
>There's a mission where you trip balls after eating mushrooms.
>There's a secret mission when you 100% the game, where you pilot a mech as Ein.
>In a recent interview, Miyazaki compared the iPad gestures to masturbation, and called the device "disgusting."
he just listed things it had, with the word "shitty" in front of it. I could do the same and make it sound good
>tense as fuck
>plays it straight
>godlike fight scenes
but since you haven't seen a single second of the show, you have no way of knowing which one of us is telling the truth.
You should check out Togashi's other famous anime, Hunter x Hunter. It starts out pretty shitty but the Chimera Ants arc is by far one of the best shounen arcs I have ever seen. He packs so much emotion into it.
Im just glad we got YYH before Hunter x Hunter.
Before Togashi became a lazy fuck
Its not his fault, its the Japanese public and their growing virginity, plus a television revenue system that relies more on sales than number of viewers, because unlike in America, in Japan you have to pay the network for your time slot rather than the other way around. Only weebs actually buy products, so only weeb shows get made.
>forced by shonen jump
this has never been proven to be a thing. Togashi just has a chronic inability to write good endings, his boner for anticlimax is too strong, as are his sudden bouts of lethargy that make him just rush things to a half-assed conclusion.
/v/, what anime should I watch next on my backlog?
That's because you didn't spend 200$ on the super special VHS directors cut like me. Sorry I'd upload it, but my PepPep works for Japan, and I don't want him Hiroshima'd.
I agree with some of his points.
The tension is kind of forced. Inaho had no reason to attack Slaine after that fight right before they board the Duecalion. And Slaine shooting Inaho at the end was overdone too. Now they have no choice but to oppose each other.
It feels to me like they were trying to manufacture the dual protagonist rivalry thing you see a lot in these types of anime.
I also think the whole "We were banished to Mars, unearthed some artifact thing, now are batshit and have an established monarchy and upper/lower class" setting to be dumb. But that's personal preference.
Everyone does, actually. Cause he truly cares for his movies and his drawing.
Now if you're so hellbent against his views you will probably not enjoy his movies, as there's always an air of preachiness to them, but evenso you should be able to appreciate what masterpieces they are.
Well he's not wrong, Japanese work culture is perpetually fucked and everyone hates themselves. Highschool was the only time you could be free and that's why it's so idolized in anime.
>tfw reading a fun manga with a full male main cast
I don't blame you, I hate to admit it but the other arcs are pretty mediocre. It's just the Chimera Ants Arc that's exceptional
Start at episode 76 if you're already familiar with the characters and the concepts of the show.
His movies are mediocre and the only true merit they hold is that they'r brilliantly animated and directed.
The man is a coward who blames the industry he built for not buying his movies, and refuses to make any more because he knows they won't sell. To me, there is no truer sin for an artist than to refuse to create because no one will care. That is selfish, that is pretentious, and most importantly it is cowardly.
Did they ever get their wishes from the Dark Tournament? I can't remember. I know the island was going to blow up and somebody killed the committee, but I couldn't remember if that stopped them from getting anything or not
Watch the 1999 version of the anime until the York City arc ends. Then switch to 2011 for Greed Island.
Isn't already over? I stupid watched the PITOOOUUU shit on youtube.
The fucking hair man.
Anyways, is shit still happening or is it done?
Also, is 7 sins worth watching?
Digging how animes look more clean now instead of this quick grab for fag dollars.
I got to like Episode 30 or something of this when you guys recommended it to me when I said I wanted to give anime another try. Taking a break for now but its pretty good.
that end theme is catchy
OFFICIAL GHIBLI MOVIE TIER LIST
Totoro, Mononoke, Spirited Away, Laputa, Porco Rosso, Cagliostro
Kiki, Whisper of the Heart, Nausicaa
Cat Returns, Grave of the Fireflies, Howl, Wind Rises, Only Yesterday
Ponyo, Pom Poko, Ariett
NOT THAT GOOD TIER
Tales of Earthsea
it ended last year. Manga on hiatus. You may as well consider the series "over", there'll be less suffering that way.
Nanatsu no Taizai is a great battle shonen, but I've only read the manga. The anime has good ED/OP, but I can't speak for the quality of the adaption.
Wow, that is disappointing.
You're on 4chan anon. /a/ is here forever.
Yeah man. I'm re-reading atm and somehow forgot how many times shit gets real.
Fuck, I've never enjoyed the breaking of a plucky anime protagonist more than what happened to Gon. Profound suffering.
I want a Toriko game I can play. I know there were a few for 3DS/PSP, but none of them looked that good or came over to NA.
But fuck, man, it's monster hunter with actually interesting attacks and combos and shit, that should be easy money.
Ice Hell is the best arc
Isn't he doing a manga?
>Laputa in God-Tier
My nigga its by far my favorite one, frankly because it avoids, for the most part, his usual overarching themes for a simpler storyline that can be taken at its face on its first viewing, unlike something like Nausicaa where you can't avoid feeling like he's on a pulpit hidden behind the animation.
> because he knows they won't sell
I'm pretty sure he's sick of how shallow and commercial-centered most anime is now even in the midst of all the work he's done. And otakus are most to blame for this because the old animators are being replaced by otaku animators.
>n-nobody will buy my movie!
>If only I wasn't an accomplished director with millions and millions of dollars to spend on my own movie and publish it!
They do it because it profits, not because it is all they can. They're cowards.
Probably the best shounen show ever created. Definitely an improvement over YYH, and it even stars Yusuke's son (basically). It's not unique, because all shounen anime and manga deals with the same shit and has the same arcs. It's just HxH does it all better and more logically.
Ice Hell was good but Cooking Festival is the Enies Lobby of Toriko.
>I'm pretty sure he's sick of how shallow and commercial-centered most anime is now even in the midst of all the work he's done
>builds an empire of moe
>WOOOOOOOOOOW why is there all this moe
He stands by watching and bitching instead of doing something about it. He's a coward.
Oh shit don't get spoiled. You're in for a fun ride.
I really don't like Komatsu. Maybe if he grew up but he still looks like a young kid and has very cringeworthy writing.
>Probably the best shounen show ever created
Reminder that Gurren Lagann, FMA, and FLCL are categorized under shonen.
Unless, of course, you mean "overly-drawn-out and milked" shonen genre, in which case I'll remind you that JoJo is still a thing.
not even close. Cooking festival was all about SHIT GOING DOWN but the fights themselves were disappointing for the most part. It was louder and had more shouting, but Ice Hell is the definitive Toriko arc.
it's like alabasta vs marineford
ice hell vs cooking festival
I got chills from watching it and I tried showing my bros what happened and they can't get over how faggy he looks.
I then cried when I saw Gon crying.
I have no idea if I'll ever pick it up. So why did Gon lose his shit? Pitou didn't heal up a friend of his, right?
I need more cool shonen to watch and googling doesn't do shit besides One Piece and Soul Eater.
>The conclusions drawn from this experiment were that when all available space is taken and all social roles filled, competition and the stresses experienced by the individuals will result in a total breakdown in complex social behaviors, ultimately resulting in the demise of the population.
I WARNED YOU BRO, I TOLD YOU ABOUT LEBENSRAUM
>implying he intended moe to be what it is now
>implying it wasn't just a design choice to complement his subject matter in his films
>implying moeshit isn't moe just for the sake of moe to rake in money from neckbeards
try again bub
Im not a vegetarian or anything, but there's no way I could enjoy a manga where the main premise is someone who kills and eats rare qt animals.
Good anime is once in a blue moon. The reason you think "old anime was better" is because it's only the only anime made more than a few years ago that anyone remembers are those that were actually WORTH remembering.
Moeshit and those who consume it have always dominated the industry. Loli fapping otakus predate the modern internet, much less the point at which you came to know of their existence.
>>implying moeshit isn't moe just for the sake of moe to rake in money from neckbeards
As opposed to what it was when Miyazaki was in charge, whcich was moe for the sake of moe to rake in money from kids and parents.
Meh, I personally don't see it that way. I consider YYH and HxH to be on the same level simply because they both were defined by a single arc, and those arcs happened to be some of the greatest shounen arcs ever made. Without those two arcs I feel like both of the shows would be less praised. Also Gon is nothing like Yusuke; Gon's a plucky kid
who eventually get's his innocence shatteredwhile Yusuke was a cool delinquent. Both were great characters but not that similar.
Gon lost his shit mostly because
he lost the closest thing he had to a father figure after believing for the longest time that he could be saved, all while dealing with the stress of realizing he isn't strong enough to do anything and everything he wants. Then he finds Pitou healing an innocent little girl and he freaks the fuck out because killing her would go against everything he stood for beforehand
>Asking 16-19 year olds about sex
>Getting anything worthwhile
Teenage minds are geared toward trying to cover-up for supposed failures. They are supposed to want sex, but if they don't get it then they don't want anyone, themselves included, to realize that the real reason is because they are scared of rejection or just undesirable. So their brain makes up the easiest excuse that it can handle: They don't get sex, so clearly its because they don't want it.
Fuck your list, no other manga gets me more hyped than Sun-Ken Rock.
What would a game about Lesbian Bears from outter space be like?
I imagine something like Evolve or Trouble in terrorist town
Not even Japan likes that shitty anime.
I need to move to grorious nippon
Anime doesn't have the space it needs
As soon as Miyazaki retired the animation was shipped over seas. It's more about quantity of quality now. Good animation takes time, something that studios don't have.
The masses will eat shit up, /v/ of all places should know this
Magical Underage Girl Panty Adventures.
YYH is full-on great until the end of Dark Tournament. The Sensui arc is pretty good as well, but Yusuke going FULL DEMONS is bullshit and you know it. Then it just totally falls apart in the final arc, which doesn't even get finished - the last battle is off screen and there's no payoff for all the build up. That really hurts it.
Whereas Soul Eater I think stayed great longer, and only lost some steam in the final moon battle. Which is exaggerated by reading it monthly - reading it all in one go, it's much better. The final chapter is a bit of mood whiplash, but it's still a decent ending. Which is all more than I can say for YYH. JJBA I shouldn't have to defend, what's your problem.
I don't like how mary sue Ken is - how every woman literally wants his dick in and around their face, and how all the men end up grovelling at his feet. The plot also moves in strange rhythms, Ken fucking off to deal with idols for a while was unnecessary, and the whole triple doublecross that ended with the Sun-Ken gang disbanded was awkward. Also, as much as I enjoy ecchi and all that, it's kind of annoying how every single female character is either raped or molested. Like, it keeps happening. And not even like the fun kind of rape.
Can't knock the fight scenes or general art, but I definitely have problems with SKR as a whole
this guy gets it
I can imagine. But its solid so far. Its crazy how Yusuke's had significant power boosts TWICE and this is only 1/4th of the way through. He'll be shooting meteors by the end of this.
>gotta trudge through last Human World arc
>then get to re-read Air
>re-read Blue Oni's appearance
I have to ask - did you read it in one go? or monthly as it came out?
>only 7/10 before
what a nig-nog. if you can't appreciate those based character designs, fight choreography/powers, and art style, get out of my face
Hm, well I can't argue that SKR has those kinds of problems. I just love the fights and the arts too damn much.
You've probably read it before, but what do you think of One-Punch Man?
I recently bought this game after losing it years ago. Fighting Toguro is complete bullshit.
>combos can take out 90% of your hp
>he has double your hp
>his attacks do more damage than normal, while yours do less
I probably just need to stop being so shit at it
The only thing YYH's ending did seriously wrong was how badly it destroyed the hype surrounding the S-class demons. Most of them were laid back and even the scrubs Yusuke fought at the Dark Tournament got to S-class without a problem
