Pretty true. I played it for the first time a week ago and beat it around 6 hours. Bought it cheap on the PS3 collection that came with Ico so I got my money's worth.

5 hours of actually unique and different gameplay intertwined with a legitimately good atmosphere.
There's a difference between this and that new Gears of War spinoff.

You see, the thing is, it was good gameplay. Not generic QTE shooter gameplay.
Also the order has around 5 hours of game where most of it is muh cinematic experience and not actual gameplay.

I can get behind this thread.

So SotC recycles the 4th and final colossi as the same fight, right? It's also 50% cut scenes too. I'm also glad that The Order has an extra difficulty mode that actually changes up how the enemies fight and adds additional points you have to hit on the enemies.

Shadow of The Colossus is short.... That is, unless you want to spend 20-30 hours searching and hunting every single lizard so that you can gain enough stamina to climb atop the main temple.

I've still never done it yet. I'm only found about half of the lizards in the game and I refuse to watch a youtube video. I want to see what's up there for myself... I just haven't gotten around to finishing the lizard hunting yet.

5 hours of unique gameplay and atmosphere, small cutscenes that don't last longer than 10 minutes, open world, no QTE's, an actual good ending.

In fact, it is a literal and working opposite of cutscene-input combat, in that you get a cinematic feel of impressive attack while actually getting to FUCKING DO IT YOURSELF instead of having to hand over your controller to the devs while they go "okay stand back n00b I'm gonna frag this charlie just press X whenever"

I think the sentiment that a short game isn't automatically a bad game is fair enough. MGS1 is barely five hours long even if you try and stretch it out. It's about the quality of what's contained within, and the method of its display.

From what I've seen of the order, it looks like those 5 hours are used pretty poorly, and if it'd been 30 hours, 80 hours, or 150 hours of the same, it'd still be a pile of shit.

TL;DR short isn't bad, bad is bad, and The Order is bad.
