>Amiibos Will Come in Card Form; May Soon Unlock NES and SNES Games
>The news came during a briefing in which CEO and president Satoru Iwata revealed the financial results for the latest wave of figures. Characters that proved less than popular such as Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer will not see new figures.
Fuck you Nintendo.

Didn't he sell out early or something?
This is good for me. At least now I won't look like a manchild going to buy some toys so I can pretend I have friends.
Now I can look like a manchild buying trading cards instead.

That doesn't any type of fucking sense what so ever, They SOLD OUT like quickly and they haven't made any new ones. Meanwhile you still have copies of Mario characters sitting and collecting dust beside Rosalina.
How could you POSSIBLY fuck up that much and pretend to be unaware of the issue?

Yes because when Bill Trinen specifically said on a Nintendo Direct said that Marth will be restocked doesn't mean anything.

No one is buying the Peach figures.
So let me get this straight. Characters that SOLD OUT COMPLETELY will not be getting figures, but characters that shelfwarm will for the foreseeable future.
On top of this, a character from an extremely popular game(Villager) won't be getting redone either? That is completely idiotic in every way. The card idea is equally as stupid, half the reason people are buying these is because they're figures.
This is amazing. I used to wonder why nintendo didn't get more into merchandise like figures and shit and we're starting to see why: they're fucking retarded.
>want DK amiibo cause I love the series
>the amiibo works for only like 3 games
I'm conflicted. What amiibo works for most games?
The actual idea of cards isn't so bad. If Nintendo actually went all out with them, getting lots of guest artists and such to make cards in lots of different styles, it could be pretty cool.
You could have a set of Pokemon trading cards that also function as amiibos. Or a Hanafuda deck like pic related. Maybe a poker card set with everyone dressed as cowboys.
Unfortunately, there's no way Nintendo would go all out with something like this.

Shulk also works on Xenoblade 3D and just unlocks some models in the model viewer instead of needing to gather Streetpass coins, not sure if anyone has a more updated picture or not.

"Nintendo revealed late last year that select Amiibo figures would be discontinued following a lack of demand." The ones that sold like ass will not be getting new models.
I'm putting aside some cash money to maximize my shekel scalping schemes when Limited Editions come out.
I love you Nintendo fanboys.

Do we know who those characters are?

>Nintendo plans to allow Amiibos to unlock segments of past NES and SNES games that gamers will be able to play for an allotted amount of time.

They said Marth only at this time. Marth looks like complete ass so I never wanted him anyway.

>The amiibos themselves cost more than (some of) said NES games

Marth sold through his entire shipment when he was available.

>Implying it's difficult.
>Even drop-outs and stay-at-home moms can scalp and earn plenty of cash.

YOU are 18 or older

YOU still care
YOU need to seek mental help

I can't believe this is serious
