>you and I are comparable in some areas but not in others
>You and I are pretty different but I don't hold it against you, however as long as our ideologies are opposed we will be fated to battle
>be honest, you're just fighting me because some guys told you to
>You and I are pretty different but I don't hold it against you, so let's just agree to disagree
>Sorry, I don't think we've met
>you and I were the same in the past but we've kind of grown apart and haven't talked in some time
>All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain
>i am your father onii-chan
-general Custer during the tamagotchi coldwar in helsinki
>What can you leave this world?
>The bonds I share with my partner. That will be my legacy
>Why was I sending threats and plotting to conquer the world? I was just high as balls, man
>Did she hate me for what I'd done? Would she see who I'd become and forgive me for sacrificing her?
>if you kill him, that's ok because he's clearly evil
>You've given him a second chance and he's squandered it, kill him before another innocent is claimed as a victim of his ambitions.
>when you were a child your village was burned down and your parents killed by an infamous mercenary
>you've since dedicated your whole life towards combat training so that you may one day take revenge
>over the years you've gone on countless adventures, made timeless memories with new companions, rescued communities form disaster, and conquered your deepest fears
>now finally, you've found the tip you've been looking for
>the mercenary is now just a feeble old man living alone in a cabin at the outskirts of a forest
>he invites you in and treats you with warm hospitality
>after pressing that he tell of his past, he claims that he has done many things when he was young that he regrets. He has since donated whatever wealth he can spare to the needy and has spent the remainder of his useful years rebuilding communities and assisting churches
>"ENOUGH" you shout as you slam your fists on a table, "No matter how much you apologize and try to make amends for what you've done, you can never return the lives you have taken. I'm here to give you the retribution which you deserve. You should have killed me in the village when you had the chance."
"But I did"
He really did
>You're fighting because you wish to see the future and that others may see that future.
>You're fighting because it's the only good thing you're good at and the only thing that gives you motivation.
>if you kill him you will be just like him :^)
God damn fucking Batman and the Joker.
"no pls batman don't kill him cause you'll be evil like him and give him what he wants"
Then the Joker goes and kills a hundred more people
>Protagonist: ANTAGONIST'S NAME!!!
>Antagonist: Heh... Protagonist's Name...
And after that is when bringing back Jason Todd had bad consequences for years to come. Jesus fucking christ Winick
, and then he later implies Todd as a kid was a child prostitute to Mia.
>You and I are not so different. We both fight for what we believe in, we both stru-
>Wait, shut the fuck up. What the dick are you even talking about? You killed like 50,000 innocent people for laughs. I have saved hundreds of innocent ives and only killed in self defense against your psychotic gun toting morons.
I wish a game did this.
>mfw this shit is still done in cartoons today.
>antagonist is an untouchable "nothing personal, kid" type never losing his composure the whole game
>random nobody just fucks his shit up and throws him off his game
Best thing ever
its a form of social engineering. the peasants arent ever suppose to think about killing the people who oppress them. It goes along with the whole 'lol peaceful protest' bullshit they shove own your throat while they ass fuck you.
I guess, I just remember him being grating as hell all throughout the first act, I know everyone else made their own mistakes as well but Luke's shit-kid behavior really stuck with me.
>tfw we will never get a protagonist like Yuri Lowell ever again.
>If you kill me you'll be just like me.
>I guess you're right.
That was the best shit ever in DoR.

>Torture, Scat, Gore Futanari
Op is a legit asshole.
>real boss kills herself after you kill her bodyguard
You know who is really to blame for the Joker?
Gotham's justice system.
It isn't Batman's job to lower the axe, he turns him into the police and he even stands trial sometimes.
Just wait for Batman to grapple away and pull out your gun, problem solved, your city isn't protected by a murderer, and you don't have to deal with the Joker.
Luke was developmentally SEVEN.
What really pissed me off in TotA is Anise lying to you all and turning traitor and everyone just letting her back in without a TENTH of the shit they put Luke through.
>Come on little bro, you wouldn't kill me right?
>guy was built up to be the antagonist for a good chunk of the game
>you finally get to fight and defeat him, 55-60ish hours in
>you assume this is the end of the ga-
>HE WAS JUST A MISGUIDED GOOD GUY ALL ALONG
>60 HOURS? HAH! THAT'S JUST HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME, HAVE ANOTHER 60 HOURS
>BTW YOUR SWORD IS GOD AND HE'S THE BAD GUY. FUCK YOU
>if you kill him, you'll be just like him!
>kills boss and friends
>takes throne for his own
>ends up being
final boss in the sequel
That part was so good though, I was seriously expecting the game to wrap up and leave way for a direct sequel for more things to be explained, but then you find out it's only halfway through the game and you're thinking "holy shit what"
Those gooks come up with the most retarded shit.
>THAT DOESN'T MATTER! YOU'LL PAY FOR YOUR CRIMES!!
>nobody ever tells you that if you kill him you'll be just like him
>you still become just like him after killing him
I can't wait to play the Order 1886™
>take his place
>everyone's after you
>random 10/10 girl just KNOWS you can't be evil
>kills the majority of the men sent after him
>girl finds him
>he reveals he's just undercover
>I KNEW IT!
>they fall in love
So, the entire game, you were playing what the "villain" was doing after the horrible massacre? Imagining that it was one possible life path of a child you killed, and thus you were now obligated to see through? That you could only accept this crime and come to terms on your death bed?
I want to play this game.
20 more hours is still pretty impressive when it really felt like the game ran it's course and it was about to wrap itself up though, and then throws a major fucking plot twist at you like that.
>the entire game you played into your own god's hands without realizing he was in your plot-device sword
>Get to final boss
>No title, just the big name only
>I realize you were just like me
>Trying to make history
>But who's to judge, the right from wrong?
>When our guard is down, I think we'll both agree that violence breeds violence
>But in the end, it has to be this way
>ancient evil lies dormant
>the ones to stop him could have killed him
>instead they trap him underneath the earth
>get to final boss
>camera zooms out
>you're in his stomach
