I have an i5 3570k and a 280x and I can play 3D DS games at X2 native res at 60fps, but any higher than that and it starts dropping frames.

Yes, it's playable. It's not an overstatement to say that PPSSPP is probably one of the best emulators around. I can run games at 2xres and some additional shit prettying it up and I'm on a toaster that can't emulate jack shit in PCSX2 without lag, not even KH2. No lag whatsoever, except for Portable 3rd HD; and even then a little fiddling gets me back in business.

Some games just don't wanna work, though. Kenka Banchou still fucking freezes after the first fight, last I checked.

ultimate ghosts and goblins - best ghosts and goblins i've ever played

gundam vs gundam & gundam assault survive - really good games, gundam vs gundam has less menu navigation, easier to get around without being able to read

gunpey - trippy somewhat unique puzzle game, great soundtrack

ikki tousen eloquent fist / xcross impact - think of these as like proto senran kagura

jeanne de arc - good turned based tactical rpg by level 5, somewhat like tactics ogre but not a clone

r-type tactics - basically a nectaris clone with slight changes, good music

star ocean first departure - definitive version of this game, star ocean 2 like battle system and great looking 2d backdrops

hammerin' harry - easy going colorful platformer, feels somewhat like goemon

exit / exit 2 - slow paced puzzle platformer with a sense of humor and nice sound design

saru saru daisakusen - ape escape game played as the monkeys instead of spike / spats loli

fate/extra - seemingly persona 3/4-esque rpg

ridge racers / ridge racers 2 - basically remakes of ps1 ridge racer tracks with some recycled / remixed music, 60 fps

grand knights history - barely played but immediately seems like a quality game

Freedom Unite has a lot more content (monsters, misions, i think maps, etc) but hitboxes are a bit broken also is harder than 3rd

3rd has better graphics, better hitboxes, but a lot less content and no G-rank it has SwitchAxes and upgraded movesets from MH3

Both MH games can be played online with Adhoc and Hamachi/Tungle if it refuses to work just google it you need to work a bit with the settings on the emulator to play it onlinr.
