Still can't believe people legitimately enjoyed that mess of a game. Rising did far more damage to its fanbase than DmC did. DmC is going to be forgotten in time whereas Rising has cemented the future of Metal Gear.

The animation is fucking primo, but they'd have to do a lot with the gameplay. Any more footage of this floating around? I just bought MGSR in the steam sale so this is interesting.

Graphically and animation wise it's miles ahead of what Platinum did, but the cookie cutter environmental destruction and really lack of anything happening at all makes me a little skeptical. It might look better, but it may not have been a better game.

If every attack that physically touched you would have no fun at all, the game would be frustrating. Secondly OD also has a cooldown which effectively punishes you for spamming it. (The cooldown can in fact be cancelled by activating blade mode after dodging forward, but this does not break the game either, it is a feature intended for expert players). You should try playing on a higher difficulty than normal.

My problem with MGS:R vs MGR is that MGR was extremely mediocre. So no matter what I would have preferred the game with unique gameplay rather than the one that was pretty much just a cuhrazy-lite game. MGR had poor mechanics, low depth, too easy, too short, low replayabillity, etc. It's a fucking shame because as seen by Bayonetta that Platinum can do WAY better things. And yes, MGR can be classified as a button masher since you barely need to learn anything. Once you learn to parry (any half-retard can do it with the windows they give you) and to run/offensive defense yellow attacks you can win the entire game by zandatsu chains on VH or Revengeance (actually Revengeance is easier).

The best thing MGR did right imo was having some hype boss battles with fitting pump up music. But jeez everything else was just a disappointment.

Just got finished playing though Hard, and I honestly don't think I'll bother with vhard or Revengence.

This post is accurate; it's fine for a while, but soon you start to realize the combat isn't as solid as what it should be, and the mechanics of the game could be a lot better than what they are. Perhaps we'll get a sequel with this shit fixed.

I'm not too heavy into MGS, so disregard my opinion if you want. I found MGR to be pretty fun, I mean, the camera felt a little wonky for me during blade wolf, but everything else was a great experience. I'm a little bummed that the kojima developed game wasn't released, because it seems cool at first glance. But it's likely that the game would've been dissatisfying. Anyone mind enlightening me on what's so bad about the lore?
