It felt like the most well designed FE game in terms of story and atmosphere. People shit on Leif all the time but he had one of the hardest lives compared to other FE lords.

FE12's problem is that they make it even worse, a lot of the promoted units have extremely poor stats for their level, take away their promoted class bases from their stats and a lot of them start weaker than a number of unpromoted characters do.

Abel is significantly worse than Belf or Leiden for example.

The real problem is that FE12 doesn't give units hard mode bonuses. In Chapter 19, all the enemies have capped stats while the Wolfguard are all in their early-mid 10s.

I liked how not only did it influence growths, but it also restricted Holy weapons to certain characters, so you couldn't just pass around a Tyrfing to whoever needed it. Made things a bit more tactical.

Problem is on average transferred Sothe will have lower stats than standard RD Sothe and even then they will still transfer.

But there's a trick to getting Johan and the better tome by letting the enemy capture johalva's castle and then taking it back with Celice.
