Planets on the sockets, mother fuckers!
There doesn't seem to have much to do around here? I'm confused...
I was rocking around another level when I saw this post. I guess I'll mindlessly press space E V E R Y on the level of that picture.
Nah, it's not that bad. There's only one bullshit puzzle in Hexen, in Shadow Woods hub, there's that one building (bottom right on the map) where you have to go through the corridors two times in a specific way to open a staircase. What difficulty are you playing on?
Yeah, I already past that part. I didn't had any problem in that section. Maybe I got away with that puzzle by sheer luck?
And I gave up on that level for now. There are two switches that opened two, appareantly useless areas (pic related, I space'd everywhere in those areas) and a hidden one behind a wall that solves 1/9 of the puzzle.
Love finding these out of nowhere.
Forgot, I'm playing on normal. I'll play on the hardest when BrutalHexen is released. Which will probably take a couple of years if at all.
Don't play on Nightmare with any character other than Mage. On Nightmare, 2nd weapons don't spawn in the first hub and you'd have to deal with yetis with your bare hands. And they can basically 1-hit you. At least Deathkings is doable with Cleric and Warrior on nightmare.
But the progression is really non-linear and you can find all parts of final weapon before getting the 2nd one.
Wraithverge > Bloodscourge > shitty sword
This level is pretty fun far. Love the verticality and enemy placements. Can't show you the enemy placements since they b ded so ded
Holy shit! (yes I got hit badly after the screencap)
If you look closely, there is a minotaur bro slaying shit for me.
Dunno if it's in this hub, but there's one room where the door closes behind you and you have to kill 3 serpents (or mages, I don't remember right now) not too fast. Game checks if exactly one is alive and opens the walls, killing them too fast will get you stuck in that room and you'll have to noclip.
Five down, four to go. I guess the trick is to play each hub level an as few sittings as possible. Only then can I know enough details about the levels to have a hunch on where to go.
Really dig these leaps of faiths.
Man, there is something about freezing these guys during flight, watching them fall and shatter on the ground.
I feel like a fucking psychic/psionic/psyker/jedi
Mother fucker, only at the least piece have I figured that the heads on there correspond with beasts on the teleporters.
Also, that last puzzle room with moving walls and the squishing ceiling was a fantastic trap room! I can say, at this point, that I am really digging the game.
Engaging Damage Control
Well, the previous hub I barely noticed the heads with lights in them so I payed no mind with this hub's puzzle counter.
Anyway, into the boss I go.
Did he just repelled my bloodscourge right into my face?
(of course in a still picture you will just assume that I'm shooting them)
Sonuvabitch , he I S repelling my attacks. I guess all those arcs of death that he sponged, as you can see I only have 30 green mana, made no effect.
It wasn't very effective...
Yeah, I already figured.
First I thought he was immune to the 4th weapon because it is powerful.
Then like I said, I spammed arc of death and I was getting suspicious because it seemed useless.
After trying the frost shards I figured he was actually immune to damage and started using the disks of reflection on his attacks thanks to this clever annon >>275907029
I tried to polymorph him into a pig to no avail, of couse.
Then, for the heck of it, I shoot at him endlessly with my first weapon and I noticed he sometimes had a damage animation.
Then I threw frost shards at him when he first started casting the purple attack. Sometimes he would reflect, sometimes he would take it.
Only then did I noticed the purple orbs orbiting around him were not there when he took some damage.
Next hub has pretty fucking great levels.
The brightness like this can be annoying but it is amazing seeing orbs like out of nowhere.
Playing this years back on ps1 with a controller was pain in the ass. Appreciate those K+M.
I am starting to agree with this
>Holy fuck, I'm surprised you made it this far.
