Sometimes you just have to tell yourself that no, time traveling to the past and changing things WON'T make everything better.
I wouldn't say nobody played it but still.
this game did have a sort of indirect sequel. same basic gameplay and theme
Fuck EA for killing Westwood and separately fuck Diablo 2 for overshadowing this masterpiece.
I don't know why people hated it.
I thought it was great craic
I just want an Emperors New School themed platformer. Is that too much to ask?
Not quite, and i know they cant do much with the property, but fuck me i want the same team and
Anamanaguichito make another beat-em-up.
I'm not sure if I'd still like it today though. There isn't a genre that's been run into the ground as hard 3rd person shooters.
oh boy, I still have this on cartridge, pretty hard game at times but it was a blast to play.
>can't even play it on my N64 because it randomly crashes with the Expansion pack and requires the Jumper pack to play
>that one disco boss
I guess it doesn't really need one since it wrapped itself up pretty well, but still.
Did ToF/Dewprism ever get a sequel?
I don't want Squeenix to touch it, honestly, but damned if it wasn't my goty at one point.
It's not even that good, I don't know if it had much exposure, but I still want it.
Ya blew it.
>that awful fucking feeling knowing that remar went making stuff like this to working an assistant role for dogshit like Ittle Dew
>You will never play Metal Arms 2
sad thing with this game is, despite being a masterpiece already, it was actually rushed. they had a bigger world, female player character, and maybe more classes planned (you can actually use a hack to give your character the female voice work that was already done)
Honestly, if someone like Grasshopper picked up the IP and made a good character action RPG out of it, and kept the tokens system, but made it persistent so that each token you got unlocked another level of that monster's ability, I'd pick it up with no questions.
Hidden gem back from the golden days of Sierra adventures. You have to explore an abandoned museum containing spooky elemental ghosts. This setting alone would justify a modern remake that isn't generic shootan gaem.
Reminder that this is one of the best RTS ever made.
>that game that you thought wouldn't get a sequel got a sequel
>It completely fucking shat on the first game
but it had a sequel!
It's wasn't amazing and I never expected a sequel to ever be possible since the only place I ever saw it was in a bargain bin.
What's this? A 3rd person platformer/shooter with levels so giant you need several days just to finish one? Also contains surprising violence and a level hiding a full hub world with even more huge levels, what the fuck.
It hurts too know this.
Also alot of games on the ps1 i love will never get sequels.
Even pre-merger, square ruined so many of their franchises, it's unreal.
>tfw you realize if Bioware made a sequel now it would be godawful
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Because people would rather kickstart garbage with 10 time the needed funs, instead of the minimum required for a sequel to a brilliant game.
Pretty sure no one really disliked it but I sure as hell don't know anyone else that played it aside from my two Polish friends.
I played the demo of that and it wasn't too horrible. Too bad the new publishers won't put it on sale. The devs are kill as well, so a sequel or a release of their graphics engine isn't possible
Also, Viva pinata 3 needs to happen and FUCK rare if their next announcement isn't that
>"oh, master wang, please give yourself up to me"
>"but we are both men!"
Haven: Call of the King.
You may not like it but I had fun with it when I was younger. I was really disappointed that they never got the trilogy they wanted, and they left it on a huge cliffhanger.
With how Ubisoft is now i don't think i want it to happen
I'm going to assume your quoted the wrong post or you're trolling me. If the latter is the case then 10/10 because I just spent 15 minutes googling and searching youtube ready to be mad, but nothing.
actually there was a sequel. 2 of them but second sequel was really a shitty westernization on par with Silent Hill Homecoming.
It was a mediocre Battlefield clone but the futuristic setting was fun
>Deploying EMP generators in hidden spots near control points so enemy vehicles would instantly become useless
>Surprising snipers with suicide drones
>That fucking railgun deployable turret
Someone was making a 3D version of it but he quit.
Probably not obscure for some people, but I don't know many people many who played it.
i used to love this game so much
also Psygonis were fucking god-tier
I played this so much with my sisters and my friends when they came over :) one of my favourite original xbox games.
Just finished this and I'm actually depressed about it.
I haven't been sad about finishing a game since I was a fucking teenager.
It was a really bittersweet ending.
And hell, the combat ain't great, level design is somewhat lacking, and the sewers sucked but the writing, dialogue, and atmosphere more than made up for it.
Granted, part 3 was kind of mediocre but I choose to believe that Factor 5 could've realized that the walking missions weren't gonna work.
I don't even know why I get up in the morning.
And Iron Strategy 2, i know.
But IS2 is literally IS1 with new missions and Parkan 2 is a sequel to Imperial Chronicles. And it's pretty bad.
Don't know if this was hated but holy fuck I've never met another soul alive who played this. I had it on a demo disc and ;-;
Then I guess you don't know.
There were plans to make a MM2 or remake of 1
It was going to be hand-drawn and actual artwork instead of just sprites
The project never managed to get support
This needs a revival, best fun you'll ever have in local multiplayer.
Shining Force 2. To date it's my favourite and best executed plotline and the gameplay was so fucking fun.
Star Wars Age of Empires and Star Wars Vigilante 8 were pretty cool too
>tfw no suffering 3
>i used Blackmore mostly as a nickname and shit
>life is suffering
>and i will never meet carmen again
>No sequel, only a shitty port to the GBC.
>VC release, NEVER
Just finished Project Eden recently with some friends. Yeah it doesn't hold up today but damn why can't we have some good coop puzzle games today anymore?
Just play the MSX2 "reboot" and super cooks.
>there was never an actual SEQUEL to any version
>compile is fucking dead now
Because Gamefreak won't sell anything that isn't Pokemon
Games really aged not so gracefully. Consolitis is more than apparent, especially in terms of movement. It has good atmosphere but execution is really not that good.
It manages to maintain a genuinely spooky atmosphere despite being a straight out shooter (unlike Dead Space and RE4).
Those burning ash-witches used to terrify me. Loved NPC interactions and overall backstory and lore that you discover via diaries. It was a western horror done fairly well. Not great but well enough.
Great games regardless. PS1 had a lot of gems. Picture related, got a sequel, never released in NA.
I think an anon before told me that you could get it on PSN classics on the PSP or Vita, if you made a JP PSN account.
The PS2 version of this game is dogshit but I remember loving it when I played it at a younger age.
However the PC version is 100 times better, and it's honestly still a great game even now. The combat is fantastic and I really enjoy the sprawling levels plus the cheat to play as any enemy complete with different movesets.
Oh man that sucks. Only reason I can think of that being canned other then Disney is full of bastards is because it would have been to beautiful for time world.
Sad part is still, after all these years, before and after knowing that, I hold out hope for another one. At least a HD remake, the Duck Tales and Castle of Illusion must have done well enough that if they are looking for more remakes this has to be near the top of the list
a good friend of mine told me how awesome this game was and how much he wanted a sequel for it
now he is dead killed himself at the age of 17 died a virgin and just as dead as this game
some dreams are never meant to come true
>there will never be another first person fighting game
I am saddened to see that this has yet to be posted. Am I truly the only one who loved it, and wished for a sequel?
Does this count as obscure? I mean I know everyone on this board has played it and Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy but no one I meet in real life has played either of them.
I remember having fun with this one too.
>tfw so few games give you the feeling of actively building up a town using the loot from your dungeon quests
The problem with Azure Dreams is that the gameplay was too repetitive.
I read that as "Fist" person.
I remember this shit getting hyped up a ton on G4.
Heard it was sadly mediocre to okay-at-best.
>nobody else like
Shadow of Destiny (aka Shadow of Memories)
Team Silent dudes made an adventure game before SH2, it's about time travel and it has a badass plot with 7 endings. Also on PC and PSP.
Avoid PSP version because its SH HD collection tier of fuck up.
one of the last games that gave me the wonders of childhood back again
i know it maybe does not count as obscure but damn it deserves a worthy succesor
> tfw posted two games in this thread that still hold a childish sense of wonder
> tfw nobody has replied to either
> tfw too afraid to ever go back and play these demo discs, games, whatever because you don't want to ruin the memory of how good and interesting it seemed as a kid
> tfw no matter what you do, you will never feel this sense of wonder and amazement at a 30 second clip, or 10 minute gameplay segment ever again
Hold me anons
3rd game was a shit, I was so mad
I know a lot of people hated on this game but I fuckin loved it, it was one of the first games I got for my xbox heug. I'm afraid to go back and play it though in case it's actually shit.
Listen to the fucking theme song m8, it won't make the pain go away but it's still great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW5eyvQ00Fg
Also pic related was radical, PS1 had so many great platformers...
CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY
Burglar simulator with pretty interesting game mechanics (No stealth as it is, you have to "record" and polish your plan before making it), weird graphics and eerie atmosphere (The city feels like a ghost town)
If I did that, then you would lose someone you could yell at and feel empowered about. Since you obviously feel that need, your life must be in a really bad place, so I won't take it away from you, so that you stiff have something when you wake up alone in the morning.
heard it in a german review show called game one
they mostly showed clips from the first stage so i think they just went ign on this one
but it also was one of their first episodes
yeah it was. I never played fire emblem because PC only after the genesis, but yeah I heard it's very similar to fire emblem. it was really fun.
I never played the first one bro, I wouldn't know. I really really liked the plot of the second one.
my first point and click adventure, loved the artstyle
This also never got a sequel. Shame, since it was fairly fun with the dating sim and RPG aspects mashing.
How could a spiritual sequel to such an old game be so far ahead of it's time?
>fully destrusctible enviroments
>tons of ways to go about each mission
>that story and voice acting
>dynamic weather and day/night circle
I never figured out why it didn't have a skimrish map mode or multiplayer. But the story was fantastic.
I came in here to post this.
But it seems like someone already did.
The people who thought a game wasn't all that good will probably forget about it in time. While the diehard fans will praise it forever.
And when everyone else has forgotten about it there will only be praise left.
Wouldn't say nobody played them, but not enough for modern day Capcom to care about.
Of all the developers, why did it have to be capcom.
I just want my bae back
>Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds
you know all those retarded games like no man's sky, they will be so fucking soulless and all the planets will just be boring potatoes with random texture vomited onto it.
outer wilds has more soul than any of the current space exploration games combined
SHADOWGATE RISING WHEN
I just want pure adventure gaming back
To this day I have not found a game that captures the feel of musket and cannon battles as well.
People kept yelling at me to play Empire Total war but it just wasn't the same.
>tfw telling everyone to charge a numerically superior enemy and routing them
Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy
An objectively mediocre game with nothing but a campaign but for some reason it's extremely satisfying to outfit your troops and murders hordes of bugs with them
I WAS GOING TO POST THIS.
Such a good fucking game for the reasons you mentioned and more. Fun and varied worlds, nice mix of action/puzzles/exploration. I always bring it up in threads like this.
Bought this shit multiple times - Dreamcast version was gifted to me and my sister. Bought the PS2 version years later, that version kind of sucked though. Bought the PS2 version again because the previous pre-owned one I bought didn't have a cover. Bought it again on iOS. Has anyone tried the PC version? I downloaded it years ago but couldn't get it working properly. Have yet to complete any of the non-DC versions.
Do you, or anyone else, know what level this is? I just searched for a screenshot and saw it, but I don't recognise/remember it at all.
>There will never be a sequel to this critically acclaimed title that already got a sequel
The day will come my friend... ;_;
I wanna know more about the world of Resonance of Fate and than god-machine.
A couple months ago I played it in my PSP, was comfy as fuck.
Good graphics, good gameplay, but the dialogues were stupid. Musashi sounded like an autistic.
I love ToF.
I like Cossacks 2's musket and cannon battles quite a bit. I assume you've tried it though.
>there will never be another football game where you suplex players
>there will never be another football game where you rupture your kidney and only be out for 6 games
The game had it's problems but man i still play this shit to this day, it's great.
It's a shame games like GoW and DMC pretty much killed this type of third person hack and slash. I miss games like Rune and Jedi Knight.
>15 years old
>playing scrabble with friends
>put down 'rune'
>everyone tells me its not a word
>they call for the dictionary
>it doesn't have 'rune' in it
>they tell me i made it up
I've hated scrabble to this day.
I'm amazed that the dictionary didn't have rune in it. I'm also amazed they didn't know about runes.
I mean, haven't most people heard about vikings and their shit?
I might be biased because I'm a viking myself though.
>No next gen version of Primal
Life is suffering
Nigga you have some good taste.
Top fucking percentage.
Everything in this game was great.
The music, the atmosphere, the challenge, the secrets. And a funny thing about my story with this game is that I had to play it in secret when I was a kid, my mom would get mad if she find out that I was playing it because of all the demonic stuff it had.
I don't get it. It's still being referenced in Konami games all over the place, but they never even made a port of Getsu Fuma Den for anything else.
That fucking music.
>tfw no new Demon's Crest in 2D with the same attention to detail as KOF XIII
I like to make chutneys and jams and stuff like that, I've been thinking of actually giving them names and labels based from videogames. I most likely won't go into business selling them or anything, it'll just be for fun.
I make a tomato and chilli chutney that goes great on burgers, I'm thinking maybe naming it after Firebrand/Red Arremer and designing a cool label. I think he's perfect for it.
I also make a Banana and Habanero chutney and will probably name it after Donkey Kong.
The I of the Dragon
Has anyone even hear of it on /v/?
For the tomato and chilli one I just peel a bunch of tomatoes and boil them down with chopped chillis, onions, vinegar, sugar, ginger and some paprika. It's really easy to make and is a million times better on a burger than ketchup. Fuck ketchup.
