Actually DMC and Ninja Gaiden did do well. Depending on how you define well. For EA they would have pumped millions and millions of dollars into genre such as this and expected the game to sell no less than 5 million copies. However I doubt any of these games had a bloated budget.

It sucks that most cancer doesn't like the genre but it's a lie to say these games are unsuccessful. I remember seeing that NG2 sold over a million copies.

I can't handle the fucking electric bastards. Half the time they don't even take damage and I have no idea how to efficiently take them down barring DRI, which I can't do on Nero and which also sometimes does zero damage. Are they occasionally invulnerable even while out of electric mode or something?
Also, I can't find a control configuration where I can constantly charge my gun with Nero to save my life. What's a decent control setup for that?

But Blitz is one of the funnest enemies in the game to fight. Alright, first up from a default control layout swap Devil Trigger with Shoot. You can change other shit however you like but this is what I and most people tend to run. This'll let you charge your shots with a trigger finger whilst doing everything else normally. Additionally, Nero can kind of use his DT like Royal Guard since the DT explosion has a generous amount of iframes on it.

As Nero, you want to take down the electric shield with Charge Shots. Your only other option is DT explosion or summoned swords, unless one of your melee hits actually breaks the shield. As soon as the shield is down they're incredibly easy to kill as Nero, you can just lock them down with buster combos. Buster into jump buster into charge shot, or any variation of this. Whatever works, it's really simple once you get the hang of it.

Dante has far more options for breaking the shield, the fastest of which is Royal Guarding Stinger or Gilgamesh Aerials. From there do whatever you want to kill him, Dante has a silly amount of options for everything in general. Your safest options are DT Real Impacts though.

Dante's attitude really shines well the games in a gameplay aspect in a way. You could be nearly dying when you beat the boss and Dante will just shit-talk him like it wasn't a big deal like with Cerberus or just walk away in Agni and Rudra

I got a ps2 now, so I replayed it like 1 month ago. I seriously don't know how did I beat vergil as a kid, but now he kept beating my ass.
