/v/, what's the comfiest place in all of gaming?
>Fable II's demon doors were fucking top notch.
i hate this fucking meme, just because the fucktard gained some millions with a shitty game doesn't mean you have to reference him everytime you talk about vidya.
unless you want to be covered in these things sucking your blood i wouldnt call that comfy
anything other summer forest is wrong
Whoops, meant Kakariko.
The little town in State of Decay.
>That feel when car breaks down and forced to walk back home
>Nintendo will never get rid of the stupid world on a log design every animal crossing had after P:G
>tfw the wii u animal crossing probably won't recapture the atmosphere of the original
Was xbox your first console?
Seriously not even bullshitting
was gonna post that one first. here you go.
Agreed. Either GCN Animal Crossing or pic related.
I really enjoy my custom Oblivion soundtrack while testing out mods.
Rain outside + warmth and security inside = instant comfy
Space games with visible cockpits can be comfy as fuck. Sitting in a nebula or in orbit around a planet, tucked up and comfortable in your chair. Maybe with the autopilot set on while in hyperspace, just watching the warp flux while the lights blink.
The mines in Nehrim were amazing. Fucking huge caverns extending off into the darkness, too big to see the other side, too deep to see the bottom.
And then there was that whole underwater prison thing.
I never did finish it.
>tfw driving past your own house in a video game
Just a little bit. I think a modded Cyrodiil is more comfortable because of some mods.
>temple of fucking evil right outside
>well of molestation in the center of town
>fucking spider people living next door
>creepy witch chilling in some sort of inaccessible shop
>autist windmill guy that fucks up the well
>neighbors keep their pows indoors
>I can't remember what game pows are actually from
The place is a shithole.
Sure you have to wander around a swamp for hours on end before you can finally make it to Lakeside, but it's worth it.
I think nehrim did an infinitely better job with the overworld forest areas. They're dense as fuck and actually feel like forests. The little towns and stuff inside them are hella comfy.
Most towns in FF9
Millennial Fair in Chrono Trigger
The Asylum in Vampire Bloodlines
Did they do anything to change those "generated" dungeons and weird faces of people ? Also post effects suck, especially there, I mean, I'm easy go with a lot worser graphics, but this...meh
>The Asylum in Vampire Bloodlines
The lavender beds district in FFXIV.
>mfw finally securing a small plot for my own pad
This is real comfy to
Room is dead quiet
and papers everywhere and chair all moved about
You could just imagine the panick. Officers prepping for a mission, and then zombies!
Then the back room with a fireplace. Grab a comfy chair from irons office, and grab his liquor and go down there and light a fire. Plenty of wood to burn in the RPD
It might not look it, but AC is one the comfiest.
While Hoax was comfy in that desperate kind of way, Bale has such a chill energy
I really liked the first island in Kingdom Hearts 1. All your friends are there, playing all day long, duellan with shithead Riku, summer climate, the ocean is warm, your childhood room..
>tfw no one's played this game other than you
>tfw no one else has experienced the epitome of comfy
>tfw i remember all the friends i left behind in old mmorpgs and the good times
all of okami, seriously
>dat bird inn with the bamboo garden
>dat bridge leading to the queen's palace
>dat stretch of beach leading to the temple of the moon
jesus, okami is the most gorgeous game ever
Truckan for most comfy. The Hunter for most chill.
Oh, yeah, the combat system was pretty cool, and the levels are nice from what I've seen. It's just kind of boring really, but I might have to play some more eventually. The first time you get the Incorruptus is pretty hype.
It looks nice and its fun but it's not comfy.
All of BK was super comfy, but this one is the best
that first area in portal after escaping glados
hip hog heaven saloon
dalaran sewers (and ironforge)
any L4D safe house
Pokemon is full of comfy zones. I always thought that the starting towns in almost every game where comfy central. Especially Littleroot town. Completely isolated in a deep but comfy forest, it almost feels hidden away from the rest of the region. Some of the secret base spots are super comfy too.
Nehrim oh ma nigga.
A memorable location around ever corner. I had to remember shit I wanted to visit like that gated forest along the road. Or the castle in the mountain beyond the run down port.
Either pic related or the rooftop in Yume Nikki the Sky Garden.
Damn, I want to play this right now.
>All the exciting adventures you had
>All the fun you had
Sometimes I wonder how they're doing and I feel like I'd like to speak to them again but even if I were given the chance it wouldn't work out. Too much time has passed and you're strangers to each other. The topic would be about the past and nothing else.
>it's the opposite of comfy
I may have found it somewhat spooky the first time I tried it out years ago, but replaying it from time to time over the course of some years, it just kinda really grew on me. Also, you should try some of the fanmade games, like .flow
You forgot the secret redead hole underneath the village. I remember finding it by accident by just throwing bombs around and freaked the shit out of me.
Also what the hell is a pow? Do you mean cow? or poe?
It's crazy how much better they did world design compared to bethesda. It's got me pretty hyped for Enderal.
Not him but I love some of the places in Yume Nikki. The Neon area being the main one. Some times I'll just walk around there for a while, having the neon effect equipped so that I "fit in".
I also quite like the witch lake for some reason. It somehow fills me with a sense of dread and peacefulness at the same time.
I would like to share a few pints with you guys
also my current desktop
Spyro Desktops are always good.
Also, my personal comfy level right here.
Forsaken fellas are the kampfiest guys around.
Pretty much every settlement in Gothic 3. That game is definition of comfy.
Despite the graphics of the place, the music for rorona's workshop was comfy as fuck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5DLRiTfRXg
Hm, yeah, i get what you say. Some places are kinda peaceful, in a weird way.The neon place was nice. I generally prefer happier games.
Fuck randomly appearing stuff though. That thing that had like 1/3600 chances pop out one of the first times I played. Almost gave me a heart attack. Motherfucker.
academic town in tethe`alla in tales of symphonia, comfiest BGM
It's somewhat happy as long as you
don't get all of the effects.
>tfw nobody remembers this
the beginning and first theme felt so cozy for a racing game
ah nice one
Though Hurricos will always be the best slightly dark rainy stage
>tfw you will never meet people who appricate spyro
It's behind a demon door so it's a little 'present' for you, this lovely little snow cottage. Anyway you get within a few feet of the door and it's basically a screamer, the house changes to this scary as fuck torture house following a BIG fucking sound that scares the shit out of you. At least thats how I remember it, haven't played it for about 4 years
Underrated post for an underrated game
This. Also, pic related, not a gameplay sample of course, but a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. related pic I've found comfy as fuck.
Stalker is made of comfy, I agree with you, anon.
>ctrl+f firelink shrine
That wont do.
Stalker Clear Sky, the hidden basement near Agroprom.
That place isn't comfy, it's depressing. You're surrounded by shit that wants to kill you and the people that arrive and meet there all leave for one reason or another, leaving you alone again with the danger.
>that fuckin' music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUXtd3gRwos)
>that fuckin' atmosphere
>that fuckin' everything
You ma nigga, GRID is a great game
Its melancholic, which is why I like it so much. Its a last refuge in a world gone to shit where the only remain course of action is off the remaining tyrants and deities that linger in the hopes of sustaining the last sparks of life for just a while longer. The fact that other characters come and go at will only reinforces the fact that nowhere else is there any safety to be found in Lordran.
>Enjoying a moment of silence and peace with a smoke?
>Enjoying the warmth of a campfire while simultaneously having one of the best views in the Zone from a 3-4 story tall building?
Only thing the guy lacks is some somber guitar track, and he's probably got even that turned up quietly on radio S.T.A.L.K.E.R. FM or some shit nearby.
easily the hot wheels turbo racing opening cinematic, op
Even sparse as shit places can be super cosy-feeling when practically everything outside is fucking miserable.
Relative cosiness is most genuine cosiness.
BAH HAH HAH HAH
HE THOUGHT A CONSOLE GAME LOOKED GOOD
Look at this genius, handing out definitions of what comfy is and what it is not. Toppest of keks man.
"Comfy" is utterly subjective to one's perspective and respective tastes, preferences... If one feels comfortable in a radioactive wasteland, that's just his thing, you know. It's subjective and it's simple as that.
what's the closest a game has come to something like this?
