To make this a bit more clear:
Right now there's DaS2 with separate DLCs. Next there will be a GOTY version including the DLCs. It's obviously compatible with the current DaS2 + DLCs.

Shortly aftwards there will be a "remastered" edition that is not compatible with the "old" DaS2 + DLCs or the GOTY edition. It will be the PS4/Xbone/DX11 release. Those who bought DaS2 on PC will NOT get a free update to the DX11 version - you have to buy the game from scratch if you want to play the remastered version with its new playerbase.

Don't ask why - it's obviously retarded as fuck but From tries to jew all the money they can get out of DaS2 without understanding what players are willing to gobble up and what not.

Agreed. It worked pretty well for the first month or two. But you can minmax anyway when you know the game, even with SM. I finished the game way before I hit 1mln SM, had upgraded Havel's and Defender's sword. I was pwning hard almost everyone in BoD arena and they're some pretty good players. If I were to invade it wouldn't be much different than it was in DS1. I did some Way of Dragon, or whatever it's called, matches and won all 30 without 1 lose.

It's just the way DkS2 is now. Everyone who still plays is in NG+ and NG is a ghost town.
