ITT: GAMES YOU LOVED BUT WILL NEVER GET TO PLAY AGAIN BECAUSE THE COMMUNITY IS DED
Gears 2 killed the series.
Gears 3 tried it's hardest to revive it but it's heart had grown cold.
>everything about the sequel
>UBER didn't even bother to fix anything about super.
>people gave them 2.2 million dollars to make a shitty rts
A retarded manlet killed what could have been the greatest game of all time
this guy took a god tier franchise and made the sequel a cheap battlefield clone
It's not dead yet, but it's losing players every year unfortunately
I don't think the community is quite dead, but last time I checked, it was on the brink...its near impossible to actually get the 256 player matches going anymore, which is a pity, because those were the most fun FPS experience I ever had in my life.
It was abandoned by its original creator then died and then was given to jagex, jagex then made people pay to fuck the corpse and when the corpse got cold and people were done fucking they threw it in the river.
That game was so dead I can't even.
Pretty sure the servers were killed at the beginning of 2013, if not 2014. Sony killing the dev a year and a half after release when they were working on a sequel didn't help things.
>monday night combat will never get a proper sequel
Why did you have to use GFWL Timegate?
What the fuck was wrong with you? Now GFWL is a dead service and you're a dead company. I don't think a game could ever be more dead than that.
Who even owns the rights to Section 8 anymore?
>somewhere in the distant future
>our live entertainment will one day be similar to this
>tfw born to early to see this
>tfw we don't even know if cryogenics work or not
Loved it for a while but got bored of it.
Does Anyone know if the Mu community is still alive?
>Serve the Vanu Sovereignty faithfully for months.
>Rise in ranks as I 'enlighten; TR and NC scum.
>Suddenly some youtube tard celebrity is the self-imposed 'Leader of the Vanu'.
>His rabid retard fans follow him on their crusade of leading suicidal vehicle charges and other stupid shit.
I just can't go back to it after that.
>You maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!
goddamn they turned into bandwagon cowards for SMC, useless trash game. MNC was actually good so i dont know what the fuck they were thinking.
>tfw quickscoping tanks in the face
>tfw dominating fucking everything as engie
>you will never ever play the old UO again
>you will never ever play 7.1 Tibia again
>you will never ever play Vanilla WoW or WoW BC again
>you will never ever play the old Ragnarok Online again
>you will never ever feel alive again
Someone take me back to the past. I give you anything
Everything seemed to be going well until one day it just dropped dead
one of the most awesome f2p i ever play, the only problem... EA.
>settember 2013, like 800 active user, never get serious update for like 2 years (only bug fixing or buff or nerf)
>october 2013 shutdown annunce
>november 2013 i stopped buy/trade stuff from EA
That was fucking pay to win as shit. Fun, but pay to win
>Retarded business model which was fixed too late
>People wanted competitive modes/features which were never added
>Devs focussed on SMITE instead
we will never get another tribes game
This game was fucking fun. Tank and Gunner all the way.
I tried playing it again on 360 recently. Nothing but hackers with unlimited Juice
Nothing better then fragging someone and spamming "die bitch!"
>Awesome party brawler
>Matches are both hilarious and intense as people fling themselves into massive brawls or 1 on 1 slugfests
>Cool random events to mix things up
>Great cast of varied characters with their own styles
>No marketing, released cheap with little to no announcement
>No support from Sega afterwards. Much needed patches for infinites and some balance issues forgotten.
>Dies in a month with no sign of a sequal
Man this game was the shit. Yeah some broken stuff here and there but it was still very enjoyable.
I put maybe $500 in Super Monday Night Combat. I wanted it to do well despite them losing the best part of the game in Mickey Cantor, but I stopped playing 3 months or so before they added Artemis.
Once I saw they made an update for the free hero rotation to be random so they could just stop updating the game and forget about it, I knew it was irredeemable. The worst part is I still have a ton of shit in the game like the PAX costumes, and none of it is fucking marketable on the Steam Community Market.
Bloodline Champions. I haven't even tried playing it recently, I'm just assuming it's dead because the website hasn't updated in years and I read an article bemoaning its death.
I gave the devs some money when I played it because I really did find the game fun, but ultimately I helped contribute to its death because I simply moved on and stopped playing.
I also agree with you guys. It took them too long to fix how much they damaged with Gears 2. It got much better once they finally patched the hell out of it but I feel Gears 2 did probably do to much damage to the series as a whole. So much so that I was actually not going to buy Gears 3 at first. I felt burned with how broken 2 was at launch.
I still play it sometimes but you need actual players to do some of the fun stuff
I only got to play this game much later in it's life cycle. Never bought it but it was somewhat free to play. Only until a certain rank then you couldn't level anymore. Fun game but I never really got to see it in it's prime.
I don't even know how HiRez managed to fuck it up
all they had to do was keep the game as it was, and fix some bugs
Better game coming through.
there is no honest reason for this game to be so dead
Don't forget the GOTTA GO SLOW speed cap
that was a dark day
There needs to be more RTSMMOs . This shit was fun.
>pop has done nothing but go up for the last 3-4 months
>constant updates to fix problems with the game and add content
I don't see where you are coming from with this
>you will never ever play Vanilla WoW or WoW BC again
don't even remind me
>roaming Darkshore/Ashenvale with my Night Elf hunter, back in 2004
>every fucking radio was playing La Camisa Negra (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRt2sRyup6A) constantly, so that song pretty much got tied to my first WoW experience
>tfw entering the first instance, first guild, first Warsong battle, etc.
>everything was brand new, unexplored and dangerous
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4U4vr_Ra3o this playing in the background while I fight to the death with those goddamn Furbolgs
that PURE FUCKING ATMOSPHERE that game had at the first few years just blew fucking mind, it's pretty much unmatched by any other video game in history imo
I miss being 15, those were the happiest years of my life
