I never understood the hate for this guy. He played to his character's strengths and won. He never cheated or colluded. He didn't display poor sportsmanship. It's only a win by the most literal definition. The entire audience boo'd him off the stage and Reggie said he wanted to kick his ass. Proest of tips: Smash Tournaments don't enable sudden death. Neither do they allow 4 player FFA to determine brackets. They also don't enable every fucking item because the item placement algorithm is fucked as all hell and doesn't take item worth into account. (Some tournaments enable some items, but not every item)

So you can call the Nintendo meet whatever you want, but please don't compare it to an actual contest of skill. Both Zero and HBox got to the finals by being huge cowards and itemhogging at the edge of the screen. Watching Zero and HBox play early on was embarrassing for people who don't want the image of playing a child's game of keepaway.

That's EXACTLY what he should've done. This wasn't a serious tournament with everyone's pride on the line or anything. It was a tournament to build up hype and to entertain a fuckhuge crowd. It was also meant to show off what Smash 4 was like, and you know what Zero does?

He plays like a huge faggot, stalls to sudden death, and kills the hype. Hbox had to take it upon himself to rebuild the hype, and Reggie built off it too. Did you notice that right after Zero was given his trophy, he was promptly ignored til the end of the event?

Point is, the tournament was about having fun and building hype, not about winning.
