Game was very good, I still play it in an arcade that still has the game on occasion. I love playing Soki even though he's super susceptible to throws. His theme is fucking baller. I was pretty pissed off the NA version removed all of the amazing character themes that was in the original, but the NA version has some super sick themes of its own. Orbital Ring Systems Cargo Bay is probably my favourite song across both soundtracks.

What the fuck are you talking about? You're implying that two different assists, from completely different games, with completely different properties would have the same amount of influence. Not only that but in MVC2 there were teams that were essentially made to be 2 man teams with synergizing assist "fodder" that were pretty much useless otherwise except in very rare cases. Regardless, there's no game that is so broken that an assist would be pretty much carrying your entire team comp.

As an actual fighter he's unfortunately garbage in MvC2 when put up against the bigger characters, but as an assist he's useful, meaning you effectively have a two man team as long as he's on board. This is true about MODOK, not Phoenix Wright. Wright is bottom of the barrel trash and doesn't fit into any teamcomp. He has to have the comp built to support him because he essentially has no tools to help him and is worthless unless you pull off his evidence gimmick. He's worthless unless you do, even in X-Factor because he has no mobility, range, or any sort of versatility other than just trying to stall with terrible keep-away that can easily be broken through by any good player, or even any decent players that happen to have a character with a teleport. The reason people don't pick him isn't because some magical force that makes people only pick S Tiers, it's because he fucking sucks and his playstyle gets repetitive and gimmicky.

when the reality is that he's labelled "high" (note: high, not even top) simply because he can help out just about any team comp. The ability to completely shut down someone's approach is pretty damn useful in competitive play. On top of that you're assuming that every fighting game tier list functions the same across the board.

No shit? Except just about anyone can easily shut him down before he can get even half of that. Phoenix Wright is only good for getting XBL / PSN wins, or stomping terrible players who have no idea what's going on. He was terrible at first, but had potential, then they nerfed his assists and he became completely worthless. He's essentially just dark phoenix, but one that sits at the bottom of tier lists. 90% of the cast pretty much counters him as well.
