>that one game that utterly destroyed your faith in a franchise/company/whatever
What was its name, /v/?
Might&Magic IX and Heroes IV released the same year. It was devastating.
Rome II Total War
I was amazed how a company could fuck up so hard on a game that put them on the map. Take Rome Total War, give it modern graphics and a higher scale, and add a few gameplay mechanics. That's all it would have taken. Instead, we got a DLC ridden, dumbed down mess with garbage AI and graphical bugs galore.
Dragon Age 2
Mass Effect 3
Unreal Tournament 3
Rome 2 Total War
WoW (end of wotlk and cata)
Duke Nukem Forever
Company of Heroes 2
And plenty more that aren't coming to mind right now.
It depends on the person. I spent my youth playing videogames, yet my main source of information was videogame magazines. Magazines that would praise games I had no interest in, while giving little to no respect to the games that I did have interest in.
By the time the age of the internet came around, I had already lost all faith in videogame reviews. I was just surprised to see people voice their rage over the lies and deception.
I swear, everytime i play or even see this game, a part of me will say "Welp, guess the franchise is dead".
This cover-shooter dating-sim piece of garbage.
I'm glad they ruined it for you fuckers too.
Everyone says ME3 killed the franchise but ME2 is what did it for me.
Everything about it from ME1 was a step backwards and to the side imo. In ME2 it became less of a standard RPG and became a run-of-the-mill aRPG.
Also makeo/shit companions. At least the kept Garus and Tali.
God I hate you people.
ME3 was obviously going to play like ME2. What the hell were you expecting?
>Wow tis third person shooter with barebones rpg elements, a shit story, shit characters and my choices having no impact is great. I cant wait for 3.
ME2 is what killed the series. It was even known before 3 was released that the plot was full of shit and there was a prothean character as on disc dlc.
Anyone who was remotely hyped for 3 after ME2, got exactly what they deserved and only have themselves to blame.
>tfw EA has SSX
>tfw it's console only
>tfw new consoles have nothing to convince me to buy them
>tfw finally free of EA having any power over me
Even if it was for PC they would use origin. But damn it's good to be free.
It still hurts.
>mfw getting an achievement for the first time
Reach was the begining of the end for Halo.
As much as /v/ loves to hate it, 1-3 and ODST were great. Especially ODST.
Halo Reach was a direction I hated, and I didnt buy 4, but even normalfags hated it, and it has killed the franchise. Which is probably for the best.
>Bungie making Destiny
>343 has some Bungie employees
>Both make shit games now
>No more Marty making music
I dont know what happened, where the fuck did the talent go, becuase it's neither with Bungie nor 343.
I was actually okay with the change of gameplay in 2. it was a letdown, sure, but I never played Mass Effect for the combat to begin with. I was always in to the
plotand the exploration. Even ME2 offered some of that by way of discovering missions by scanning some planets.
ME3 hit me hard when the galaxy was reduced to 4 hallways on the citadel.
I should've cottoned on ages ago.
that zombie plague update before the game was released had to have been some of the most fun ive ever had on WoW ever
infecting pretty much everything (not only players but npcs) and turning them into hostile zombies and being able to chat with the opposing faction when you where a zombie was great
too bad it only lasted a week instead of the 2 it was originally planned for because babbies
Fable I avoided hype for completely. I loved tlc too. Still one of my favorite games, definately in the top 10.
Fable 2 I fell for Molyneuxs hype. Yes it was a terribe game. But I have to blame myself for getting hyped.
Fable 3 I avoided all info on, becuase I knew it would be bullshit. I went in expecting Fable 2 at worst, thinking the devs would learn from their mistakes. No hype = no dissapointment I thought.
It was a shit game. Hype or not, I lose either way with the new Lionhead. Well old now, since a bunch of people wuit since then. Now they still milk fable and make even worse games.
>tfw this is supposed to be an improvement on the original
>As much as /v/ loves to hate it, 1-3 and ODST were great.
I think most of /v/ like those games, whenever I see people complainging, they're almost always just butthurt quakefags
I have no faith in FFXV either.
Though, ARR was fun for a while.
Fuck, I forgot about that one
Include trigger warnings next time, shitlord
this piece of trash
hopefully the series can bounce back
>start playing DNF
>it's so bad it's astounding
>what..? how...? really?
>turns out the introduction was just Duke playing on his console
>OOOOOH! so it was a PARODY of a bad game!
>it makes sense now! HAHAHA! good one, got me there gearbox!
>play some more
>Company of Heroes 2
Nah. Was pretty much a CoH 1.5 not balanced really well but heh, it wasn't a disaster at all.
Also, Unreal Tournament 3 wasn't that bad either. Of course, both of these game are preety lame compared to their older brother, but quite frankly if you're looking at the games in themselves, they're ok.
>Unreal Tournament 3
Diablo 3 is actually fun now with Reaper of Souls.
I don't know how its possible to "hate" Unreal Tournament 3.
Reach wasn't great, but it wasn't total shite.
And seriously? Oblivion? The Fuq?
Just for contex. This is what it was before they "improved" it.
This motherfucking piece of shit, all chances of a real sequel to the glorious second game, GONE I TELL YOU GONE.
Despite what people say about it Halo 3. It just lacked that feeling Halo 2 had (I'm not talking about multiplayer)
Civ Revolution (i don't know what I was expecting) Civ V
Dragon Age 2
>ME3 was obviously going to play like ME2. What the hell were you expecting?
And there is nothing inherently wrong with that playstyle
ME3 had a shitton of issues, but the gameplay itself was pretty ok
It actually made the multiplayer fun as fuck if not for the unlock bullshit
That zombie plague was a remake of the corrupted blood, both events were fun.
>mfw people complained about the zombie plague so hard because they couldn't afk all day in stormwind
>mfw because of that blizzard won't pull out another similar event
The original had a great style. It was fariytaleish.
The new one just looks shit.
Shame the original isnt playable with a 360 controller.
>Wait a decade for the next Legacy of Kain game
>They turned it into a TF2 clone with vampires
I feel like they were still going for that fairytale,
fable-esque design. Like you are playing out the plot of what goes on to be a children's bed time story or something.
2 and 3 were just fucking dating sims. Story and combat were just bad.
No other game has broken my heart as much as this shit
Dragon age 2.
DA:Origins made me cautiously optimistic about the revival of Bioware. It was still casualized compared to their earlier games, but it wasn't without merits.
DA2, SWTOR, ME3 and the SJW shitstorm coming with it made me lose all hope. It's obvious that they don't give a shit about party-based tactical rpgs anymore. It's all "we want the third person action game fanbase".
>there will never be NWN 3
A dagger in my heart
No it wasn't, the only fun thing about the gameplay was the Vanguard Charge and that got boring after ten fucking minutes of doing it.
The combat consisted of the same shitty wave-garbage as in DA2.
destiny ruined my love of bungie. marathon was good if not great and they had a masterful series in halo...totally screwed the pooch with that shit ass game that they just released. A buddy of mine described it as a poor man's borderlands, but without the charm and excitement. This is the worst game I've played in a long time.
Destiny and Watch_Dogs have turned me off of AAA games in general. Marketing has become more important than actually making good games.
The last time I remember a game with such marketing leading to such a letdown was LA Noire, and at least that one was kind of unique.
Borderlands is fun as hell when you split screen co-op
and take a shot/toke whenever you get a shit weapon
An abomination so terrible that the players themselves had to fix it to a playable state. The publisher was sure to ruin the name with two terrible games while the original dev did one good game before diving into the lower end of mediocrity.
>Final Fantasy XIII
>Shadow the Hedgehog
>Mass Effect 2
>World of Warcraft
>Duke Nukem Forever
>Silent Hill Homecoming
>Resident Evil 5
>The whole Space Base fiasco
Even though I still think Double Fine and Tim Schafer are based, I'm still waiting for a full game made by them.
>Diablo 3 is actually fun now with Reaper of Souls.
Not him but I'm not really feeling it. I played through it with two characters but now I'm stuck with pure grinding. Fighting against enemies that aren't really dangerous but take a fucklong time to take down isn't great.
>Gutting of the exploration
>finding crashed spaceship teetering on an abyss and needing to get the pilot's log
>Ending up on a sandstorm infested planet while having a zombie-esque shootout against cyborgs
>Ending up on a solar installation and needing to fix that shit
I'll take that over driving the Mako over copy pasted terrain any day.
But I agree
Skyward sword fucked everyone over. I remember miyamoto saying something like he'd quit if it wasnt the greatest zelda ever.
I'd literally rather play zelda 2 instead
Also Mario kart wii isn't bad. Replay double dash and you'll realize that.
Ninty's actually trying to make games that appease to their "core" audience more now, so from here on out it might be a diff ball game. Hopefully the wii u is GameCube 2.0
What pissed me off was that my small server was filled with prudes.
Dozens of people in trade chat were keeping tabs on people who infected NPCs and would name them if they seen it happening, then other players would report whoever was mentioned for grieving.
the announcement of the next Breath of Fire becoming a mobile farmville piece of shit
Final Fantasy XII, though that doesn't count for their MMOs... and XV's looking to redeem something even if it's nothing like muh nostalgias
idk i could go on
It was the nail in the coffin to my love for Capcom.
Assassins Creed 3
That game just made me stop being a gaming fanatic. It was the last game I pre-ordered and bought at release. Since then, I wait a couple of months to buy a game. It costs less and I can research if the game is good or not.
Seriously, fuck AC3. Black Flag is pretty fun though
I was so fucking hyped for it and it was such a huge disappointment
I'm going to buy PP as usual but I'm not going to get hyped for it, I can't
There's no coming back from this.
I SAW THE VIDEOS
RANDY SPOKE OF HOW MUCH HE LOVED ALIENS AND HAD BEEN STEALING IDEAS FROM THE FRANCHISE
HE WENT ON AND ON ABOUT HIS RESPECT FOR THE LORE AND TREATING IT RIGHT FOR THE FAN BASE
AND THEN- AND THEN-
OH GOD I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GEARBOX GAME AS LONG AS I DRAW BREATH
Y'all niggas saying that ME3 ruined the series are getting it wrong. IT was ME2 that killed the series for me, being with it's pointless story, being with the general dumbed down mechanics. Only fools would expect good shit in ME3.
Moving to other series, Resident Evil 5 killed it for me, due to obligatory coop and it'd fast pced, atmosphere killing action.
Xenosaga Ep 1.
Anyone who thinks that today's "cinematic experience" trend is bad obviously never played Xenosaga. Hour long cutscenes comprised almost entirely of talking is pretty damn brutal.
It's a perfectly good game that happened to come out at the height of people shitting on Capcom, the case could have come stuffed with $100 bills and the hive mind would have still shit on it.
He's a professional liar Anon, it was with Colonial Marines that he truly fucked us all.
I never had an xbox, so I played it for the first time 2 years ago on PC.
It's the shittiest shooter I've ever layed hands upon.
What is wrong with you?
It is literally worse than Modern Blopfare - and you faggots seem to compare it to great arena shooters like UT and Quake.
>absolute shit single player campaign
I like the Halo series well enough, but I went back and tried to play Halo CE with a friend a few months back just for shits and giggles, and that game isn't good at all, every other Halo is better, even 4, and 4 is like having your dick stepped on.
How many shooters honestly still hold up today? For better or worse it did a lot of things that are now industry standards in the FPS genre. At the time it was amazing because it was there wasn't really anything else like it.
It's like saying I Love Lucy is shit because you've heard all the jokes before without realizing that's where the jokes were originally created.
There was a time in which halo kiddos where shamed and forced to leave by /v/ who thought at the time, half life 2 was infinitely superior to Halo in every aspect which it is.
So, know your place kid.
I don't remember the 1st one that started killing my faith but the last drop was Watch dogs. I don't trust anyone now, at all. I pirated it but fucking hell downgrading your game on purpose just to make consoles look not like utter shit is beyond my understanding. Fuck this industry, fuck everything.
>you will never play AA for the first time again
Rising Sun heralded the end of an age.
>/v/ shits on HL2
I want halo babies to leave.
seriously their kind is cancerous as fuck. they probably met vidya with Halo as their first gaming system ever probably was the original Xbox.
>B-B-BUT IF YOU LOOK AT IT AS A NON-BANJO GAME, IT'S REALLY GOOD
It's a bunch of repetitive, reused challenges where you race through rings or carry shit, they barely used characters from the series, the physics are retarded, you're stuck with pre-built shit vehicles for a large amount of missions, the level design doesn't work for a platformer or a car game, everything is huge and empty, and Banjo doesn't even BUHBUHBUH for his entire dialogue, leading to a shitload of awkward silence as they loop their shitty "talking" animations
Fucking LEGO Racers was better
Damn, thought I was the only one that played that game. Good taste nigga.
So, who else is massively anticipating Dragon Age 3 for the sole purpose of pirating it day 1 and shitting all over it on /v/
Fuck you Bioware, I hope you get cancer of the aids of the anus
>tfw ea has the burnout series
life isn't fair
I didn't hate ME2 like half of /v/ did, and regardless, if the final game was good then the missteps could have been forgiven.
Then the game came out
You should try it again, they really made an effort to fix it. I think Diablo 3 is the result of them looking at the huge black market on diablo 2 and watching baal runs and assuming that was how people liked to play.
It really has improved and they clearly listen to their base.
>Fucking LEGO Racers was better
Well of course LEGO Racers was better.
LEGO Racers was fucking AWESOME.
Or, I remember it being awesome. I dare not replay it lest I taint those beautiful memories.
Ninja Gaiden 3.
>Muh arm!? It makes me kill people in a cutscene fashion!!!
>Killing unarmed civilians because haha i'm a ninja master and you are a plebian
Not only was Ryu out of character to the point of stupidity the gameplay mechanics were retarded.
It handled like a general swordgame someone superimposed the franchise onto.
Furthermore it was easy to the point my ass wasn't sore after playing, that is not ninja gaiden.
The Last of Us.
>expect an atmospheric cover shooter from my Naughty Dog bros
>got a bad story driven cover shooter with bad mechanics
i just hope to god they'll make something worthwhile next.
Any iteration of a game where you can tell it was made for the masses and money and not the fans of the series.
Namely any Crash bandicoot after 3, any Spyro after 3, ME2&3, and series EA or activision put their hands on, any series originally exclusive to PC ported to consoles, Mario Galaxy and others after it, any Mario Kart after DD, etc.
hey don't make games for you anymore, anon. They make them for the masses. For money. They don't care about you.
Dragon Age 2 was so shit it killed my interest in the franchise without even having played it
Dark Souls 2 was an uninspired rehashed mess compared to its predecessors and proved FROM isn't above shitty DLC ridden cash grabs.
Duke Nukem Forever and BL2 have turned me off from Gearbox forever.
World of Warcraft compromised my faith in the entire human population. If so many people can choose the worst MMO ever created at the time of its release as their source of entertainment it really says a lot about the nature of people in general.
I'm really fucking high right now and you have no idea how much that made me laugh, not the anon your replying to anyway, but yeah destiny is pretty bad, but I'll keep my eye on it because it looks like it will actually be a good game by the 3 game I'm guessing, if the series lives that long.
>"I'll miss you." caption thrown in
>"I'll miss you." still scrolls in the subtitles
final fantasy x-2
devil may cry (the new one)
also what the fuck is wrong with the people claiming fable 2 was bad? that shit was one of the comfiest games ive ever played. one of those games where you forget everything around you
still dont know how they managed to fuck up fable 3 this badly
This killed Bioware for me and KOTOR was one of my favorite games of all time. Oh man how the mighty have fallen.
I tried to replay it but all the dialogue is just so fucking shit. I started skipping everything anybody said just to get to the part where I get to kill stuff. Fighting isn't even that fun so I dropped it after getting garrus.
>KOTOR was one of my favorite games of all time
Half Life 2
>less guns than previous game and expansions
>environments are incredibly empty and boring compared to first game, only ravenholm has lots of interaction with environment
>previous story is completely ignored, some ridiculous alien overlord dystopia shoehorned in
>vast majority of enemies are humanoids with guns
>years later people that never played HL1 claim that HL2 was the best game ever made and HL1 is a piece of shit
>same people who complain about casuals ruining video games by having companies cater to said casuals
I'm still sad about this. HL1 was such a good game.
Modern Warfare 3
MW2 was an overhyped disappointment, BLOPS was okay, but for MW3 I just watched and thought "this looks exactly like MW2". Didn't even buy it, got it as a gift at Christmas, only played singleplayer because I wanted to see the story end.
I haven't played a CoD game since.
>Skyward sword fucked everyone over. I remember miyamoto saying something like he'd quit if it wasnt the greatest zelda ever.
>I'd literally rather play zelda 2 instead
I have a hard time believing Skyward Sword is that bad with everyone having shit-eatingly low standards for video games.
Rome II should have taken the steps to go back towards its original engine is the problem. Empire's engine really only works for Empire or Napoleon, but for Shogun you could tell it was starting to show its problems. Aside from the numerous amount of bugs (which probably hit their critical point at Empire) the unit collision and animations for melee combat in general were terrible. Formations did hardly anything to give you a tactical advantage when everyone would just disengage and become a blob of enemies. CA should have gone back to their original engine for Rome and updated the shit out of it or made a new engine.
No one mentioned Bioshock: Infinite. Holy fuck, Bioshock: Infinite. I was so ready to enjoy that game, and I did for about the first hour until they started beating me over the head with 'story.'
>decide to play gw2 again last month
>stop playing after 10 mins remembering why I quit in the first place
The combat is an utter button mashing shitfest and mind numbinly boring, but it has a decent storyline for an MMO and the world is somewhat enjoyable to explore, too bad when the storyline is finished and you explored the world your still left with a shitty combat system.
DMC/RE killed my faith in capcom. I still enjoy Street Fighter 4 and think Ultra is one of the better versions but the game was just added upon and the original version came out before Capcom fully died.
I guess Id is one constantly disappointment after another now but that company died as a whole along time ago.
Capcom has done so much more than just DmC and RE. You're giving them too much credit.
And I like the new Wolfenstein. It wasn't fucking miraculous or anything, but it felt less like a CoD rip-off than Wolf '09. It felt like an old school shooter covered in newage bullshit. Which is the most we're gonna get these days.
Not only did it completely ruin how much I liked the first game, it basically killed my interest in square as a company
Final Fantasy 14
Broke my heart and completely destroyed my hopes of any MMO ever being good again.
You guys remember the ORIGINAL Ninja Gaiden 3 right?
>Piss easy easy (even on the hardest difficulty)
>Only weapon in the game was the SWORD
>Dumb enemy AI
>Made every weapon you got in past Ninja Gaiden games DLC!!!!!
Razor's edge was great and all, but the fact that people thought it was good idea to make this game and sell it thinking i would be a step in the right direction SCARES me deeply.
every game after legend of mana
legend of mana itself was already wierd but still acceptable
>Rome Total War 2
I enjoyed empire once the patches and darthmod came out. Had tons of fun with it. Shogun 2 came out, and it was awful. Blatant cash grab, it was a smaller, worse version of Rome 1 and med 2. Rome 2 announced, my hype levels immediately launch into dangerous territory and i pre-order. I currently have 4 hours of playtime because of how awful Rome 2 is. I will never buy another CA game again. Instead, I will jump over to grand strategy games.
>Mass Effect 2
People who say 3 ruined the series are morons. I was in fucking high school and I recognized what shit ME2 was before I even got halfway through it. Turned ME into a shitty sci-fi cover shooter with RPG elements. Universal cool down, thermal clips, pants on head retarded plot, PLANET SCANNING. I didn't even make it to ME3. Needless to say I avoid bioware (and EA, obviously) like the plague.
Loved the first 2. Didn't even get past the 30 minute mark on 3. Thank god I borrowed it from a friend and didn't pay money for it.
>red faction Armageddon
I don't really need to say anything, do I?
I could write essays about how much of a let down this game was (especially because the first game ends on a huge fucking cliffhanger it took like 4-5 years to come out), but
>First three hours of the game involve you doing a lot of boring shit as a character who proceeds to not really matter at all for the rest of the game, takes like 15 minutes to get to your first fight
>Fighting turned into "push X, occasionally push triangle to autokill an enemy, counter a bosses move, or advance to the next stage of a boss fight"
>All RPG elements besides leveling up (such as exploration, some amount of freedom in how you advance the story, actual NPC's to talk with, and random background elements to fuck with) were removed
>Main character turned into a huge retard for no reason
>disney stuff feels incredibly forced and is basically just "here's scenes from the movie rendered into 3D but with an anime dude in the background not really doing anything" instead of the original stuff that tied into the overall story from the first game
>actual plot is incredibly retarded, introduces all sorts of new shit out of nowhere to extend the game, requires you to play a GBA game so don't miss out on all sorts of shit in this ps2 game
>to pad for time the game literally says "okay, now do it all again" after you beat the (already very small and linear) levels the first time before it gives you the final boss
and you get the idea, they ruined literally every single good thing from the first game besides fixing the stupid spaceship segments (which are actually really fun now, to give it some credit) and making items worth using ever
good job on not actually refuting anything he said, I guess.
hl2 is incredibly lame because instead of having cutscenes you watch you have cuscenes where gordon jumps off office chairs in the corner while the characters don't react to it at all
Part of half life is never leaving the POV of Gordon. Even with cutscenes
Would the game be better if eli stopped what he was doing to tell you to stop jumping around like a faggot?
I just don't even know anymore who is baiting and who is really being a retard
half life 1 had cutscenes and never left gordons POV, it just also didn't have boring as fuck cutscenes where a scientist man talks to you for minutes at a time because it was a well designed shooter first and everything else was secondary
good job refuting the fact that you were being a crybaby bitchboy with no real argument on the last two points there.
i dont give a shit about that franchise but keep believing im just an HL2 fan out to get you like the autistic dumbfuck you are. fact is both your games suck ass.
Not even Origin. GOG. They're THAT desperate.
Ignore first sentence, the important thing is that they got caught already.
Fuck you Cavia. I don't even know how someone could make Nier out to be the protagonist at all.
And now you've shut down, so we'll never get any more edgy-but-subpar ARPGs.
>ctrl f, 'GTA V';2 results
You disappoint me, /v/.
Bioware was already dead as an RPG making dev team when DA came out. Mass Effect 2 proved this; it was a 7/10 3rd person cover-based shooter with RPG elements that failed to deliver on a number of promises, but we forgave it on account of its being a fun shooter.
The writing was all on the wall, though; no choices you made had any actual consequence, the loyalty missions were literally length-padding, the immersion fell apart once you realized the entire crew of the Normandy consisted of talking props and none of your squadmates moved around or did anything, and your previous actions in ME1 had little measurable effect on the story or gameplay of ME2. We forgave it because it was a fun shooter, but that creative bankruptcy had already established itself, and the result was a threequel that was content to wallow in mediocrity
Oh I got a few.
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Special empahsis on Aliens, fucking Gearbox, fuck them with a Pitchford sized head.
It's clunky, its crafting mechanics are lame, the AI is terrible, and once the "killing zombies with a weedwacker baseball bat combo while cross-dressing" joke wears thin, the game's got nothing left.
DA:O came out before ME2. Mass Effect 1 wasn't anything amazing but I really enjoyed it because it was something new and fresh in sci-fi games, which were dominated by Halo and Gears of War, two games which I think have the most boring, shitty universes.
BioWare's handling of the marketing and promotion for Mass Effect was fairly decent, or at least I don't remember it being overtly tacky. Then we get Dragon Age: Origins throwing in our faces that THIS IS A MATURE RPG FOR MATURE GAMERS LOOK AT ALL THE BLOOD, WOULDN'T SEE THAT IN YOUR KID GAMES and it was starting to dawn on me that this company is not the company that made Baldur's Gate 2. Now, of course, they're completely unrecognisable
Darkstalkers 4. Or rather, the years of teasing of Darkstalkers 4 followed by a big psuedo-announcement of Darkstalkers 4 followed by sweeping the entire notion of Darkstalkers 4 under the rug.
how does it feel to know it was originally going to be like 64/TTYD but Miyamoto personally killed the story and partners
That Mystical Ninja game on the PS2.
It wasn't so much that the game was bad (well, it was to be fair) but more that it became clear that Konami don't give a fuck about their fans
Did we play the same KH2?
Or rather, the same KH series?
>requires you to play a GBA game so don't miss out on all sorts of shit in this ps2 game
Reminder that it came out on PS2.
Before that Darkstalkers Are Not Dead trailer came out, Capcom had already:
Cancelled every Mega Man game, including the shitstorm over Legends 3
Released two paid updates to SFIV
Released Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 a year after vanilla
Released Street Fighter X Tekken with every single bit of DLC locked on the disc
How the fuck did you last that long
Fuck, I must have been thinking of Dragon Age Deuces. Still, playing a Bioware game is like being offered a cake that changes its flavor every time you try a new slice, only to find out that it's all the same flavor, and it all tastes like shit.
Fuck you Bungie, I was excited to see what you'd do after not being able to make more Halo.
>Iwata: Miyamoto-san really persevered with Paper Mario this time. Exactly what was he particular about?
>Tanabe: Aside from wanting us to change the atmosphere a lot, there were two main things that Miyamoto-san said from the start of the project—"It's fine without a story, so do we really need one?" and "As much as possible, complete it with only characters from the Super Mario world.
>Iwata: That's a difficult task. In some ways that would be the exact opposite direction from recent games in the series.
>Tanabe: Yeah. With regard to the story, we did a survey over the Super Paper Mario game in Club Nintendo, and not even 1% said the story was interesting. A lot of people said that the Flip move for switching between the 3D and 2D dimensions was fun.
so its part Miyamoto's fault and part Japs with shit taste, though earlier in that interview they do mention that when they got their hands on an early build of super mario rpg it had mario fighting with a sword like a normal jrpg hero and Miyamoto said wait a minute wouldn't it be better if he used a hammer like in Donkey Kong?
I love how people on /v/ constantly bitch about Other M, yet spam Zero Suit Samus threads full of tits and ass. Zero Suit fags are the fucking reason Other M was made in the first place. The irony is astounding
can you really blame EA for the fact that it was in development hell and that he eventually coaved to casualizing and cutifying it?
Though honestly I think that project had some serious problems straight from the start, look at the game we got its a bunch of really cool tools for creating stuff but they just couldn't find an interesting way to make the time when you're not in the editor fun. I have a feeling this was the central design problem from the start.
Double dash is one of the best Mario Carts, how would replaying such a tightly controlled game make me like playing a racing game with a stick, or god forbid, a plastic wheel?
same here destiny was a HUGE disappointment for me. also i dont know people hate halo reach so much, im a huge halo fan and i loved reach, campaign wise it is my second favorite of the series behind odst and multiplayer was solid as fuck
>play BFBC2/Vietnam religiously
>BF3 comes out
>play it with friends, better than all of them, still don't like the game
>totally hyped because the next release should be BFBC3
>few months after BF3 comes out, they announce BF4
>most hope gone
>few months after BF4 comes out, they announce Hardline
>all fucking hope gone
RIP in peace DICE
I love how people like you completely miss the point.
>Zero suit humanizes samus
>enormous amount of zero suit art comes out
>zero suit tits! zero suit ass!
>lets humanize Samus even more! The fans love it!
>other M comes out
>this game fucking sucks why is Samus acting like an actually person what the fuck!!!
Oh I get it, you're just a guy that likes Other M and gets mad that other people don't. Why didn't you just say so?
What you're saying is funny and ironic is just my opinion > your opinion
"Humanizing" doesn't forgive bad writing.
this so much. Zero Suit faggots are the worst.
Actually. Speaking of those threads, it blows my mind that the same people whining about Samus in high heels in smash will turn around and post her in a skintight zero suit with massive tits and a big bubble butt
Really? Prime? Throughout all the games in the series, Prime, a good game and decent vision of the series, that's what did it for you? It literally only shares being a fps with halo. That's like saying if halo was 2d it would be metroid. Let's just forget Hunters I guess...
I didn't like Other M though. Just pointing out the irony of the fanbase and its mixed signals to the developers.
/v/ threw a shitfit over the high heels, but its not worse than the art thats posted in the daily I LOVE SAMUS threads. In fact the shit posted in those threads is worse.
I'm just pointing out that it's not ironic when fans don't like something.
>people like humanizing samus
>devs make a bad game with bad writing about samus
>people don't like it
This isn't really the fans fault, its the devs.
Nice useless post guy.
He's pointing out that the fanbase does the EXACT SAME THING they bitch about the developers doing you dipshit. And that's the textbook definition of ironic. Whats wrong with you?
>people say that MOH Airborne is awful so I avoided it
>few years later when WWII drought hits play it and absolutely love it
>realizing people could be wrong about Rising Sun too
>its actually shit
You say it like people only hated it because of all the dialogue. People hate the game because it's a shitty hallway shooter with terrible gameplay and trash exploration. I know putting her in zero suit was fan service, but it's not the only reason people hate the game.
But that's completely retarded, idiot.
>fans humanize samus
>devs humanize samus
>its ironic because the fans dislike the devs terrible writing
It's not fucking complicated, retard
>not liking the best heroes
>not blaming everything on VI
get with the times
Mass Effect 2
Saints Row 3
Call Of Duty MW3
Need For Speed Most Wanted (New, obviously)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to infinity
There are more, but I can't fucking recall...
No its ironic because
>fans humanize samus
>devs humanize samus
>fans dont like the way the devs did it
>fans proceed to humanize her the exact same way the devs did
Why are you so fucking stupid
Dragon Age 2
Duke Nukem Foreva'
CoD : Black Cocks
Dunk Souls 2. This completly crushed my trust in pre-ordering. Atleast It's made by different people so I still somewhat believe their games might be good in future.
Valvenever lets me down.
