I don't think OP actually wanted to start an underrated games thread you guys. But fuck it, let's have one anyway.

I actually only started Beyond Good and Evil recently and I'm having a good time of it. I never would have played it if I weren't a Rayman fan.

I also think that Ico is genuinely underrated, people really don't like it. I think it's actually better than Shadow of the Colossus.

Either you're extremely lucky or I just have shit luck. Everytime I played the game there was one game breaking bug where if you reload a checkpoint during a boss fight they would completely disappear causing me to have to replay the mission from the start if I ever fucked up and died.

And how often do you see it come up? This game is underrated because so very, very, very few people played it, and don't credit it with the praise it deserves.

It never got a chance at real success as a series because of that, and instead we watched this type of game all but die a horrible death.

It's so depressing. In my opinion, SoA was the penultimate game of its style, and I desperately pray that someday Sega stops being a bunch of fucking idiots and rereleases it in HD before its completely forgotten, or its fans all grow old and die.

This entire series coasted under the radar for most people. And all the reviews of the games are pretty bad.

It's like the definition of "something that shouldn't work but does". The combat is braindead, the music is droning, the character choice is nearly pointless, the levels are grueling, the bosses are boring, the plot is bad, the graphics are terrible and the game runs at like 20 fps, sometimes dipping to 10.

Yet it's probably one of the best couch co-op games of the generation, possibly of all time.
