I'm going to post some webms of the newest features of Yandere Sim.
Each day begins with Yandere-chan in her home. Here's a short tour of her room.
The corkboard has no gameplay purpose, it's just there for fun. You can take any pictures you've taken and arrange them on a corkboard. You could turn it into a wall of panty shots, or a gallery of your beloved Senpai-kun.
It's there because it's one of those things a creepy obsessive stalker would have.
All animations are placeholder and will be replaced before the game is released.
Changing your panties is the only thing you can do here that actually impacts gameplay; the rest of the things in your room are just there to complete the "creepy yandere girl" experience.
Here's a closer look at the shrine to Senpai-kun. It's inspired by Helga's shrine to Arnold. If you steal things from Senpai like his gum, band-aid, hair, or boxer shorts, then it appears here.
Yeah! I thought of that, too! I'll find out how easy / hard that would be to implement.
Here's a preview of what the school day is like. This is sort of a "speedrun", completing a day at school as fast as possible. Here the character just rushes to class to advance time and move on to the next playable time period, but in the actual game, you'd spend these playable segments walking around and doing things, not just going straight to your next class.

All of the panties are placeholder right now. I'd like the final game to have unique panties, not just "red panties" "pink panties" and boring stuff like that.
The panty text is all placeholder for now, but here's what it says currently:
Whie Panties - Less reputation penalty for performing Yandere actions.
Red Panties - Smaller blood stains form after killing victims.
Pink Panties - Bonus when convincing two students to fall in love.
Blue Panties - Bonus when convincing students to hate/bully another student.
Cyan Panties - Bonus when studying school subjects.
Yellow Panties - Bonus when performing actions that improve reputation.
Black Panties - Students have a smaller range of sight.
Animal-Face Panties - Students who witness murder are shocked for a longer period of time before taking action.
Shimapan - The Yandere Meter will decrease faster.
Spats - Faster run speed.

Each one of the items would be acquired a different way. To steal his boxer shorts, you need to sneak into the boys' locker room while he is showering and grab his underwear. To steal his gum, you need to follow him around until he spits his gum out. To get his toothbrush, you'd have to sneak into his house and steal his toothbrush (probably during the same mission where you eliminate his little sister).
By the way, I'm still trying to determine how the school schedule should work, how quickly time should pass, what should happen if Yandere-chan is late for class, etc. I made some strawpolls, and it would help me if you would vote on them:
Under the current design (which can change if everyone thinks it sucks) you have three playable time periods: Before School, Lunch Time, After School. Before School is 1 hour, Lunch Time is 30 minutes, After School is 2 hours and 30 minutes. As for the speed that time passes, I will probably adjust it until it's balanced.
Your general objective is always "Eliminate _____-chan before Friday." You can kill her on Monday, or spend 5 days planting the seeds for a master plan to kill her on Friday without anyone knowing you were involved. Every Monday, you've got a new _____-chan to kill.

So if you killed her on Monday, then what happens to the rest of the week?
Do you move to the next target (would they still have to be killed by Friday, or do you get until the next week? What if you kill them early as well?)
Or maybe you can just dick around and set up other murders in advance? Maybe give the option to time skip to next week.

are there ways to deal with girls other than killing them? like getting them bullied so much they transfer schools. maybe killing should be a really difficult process reserved only for when your opponent is much stronger than you are (like kaichou-chan)
Something that worries me is that the game will be very short then for people who are going a violent route. They will be cut out of a few days each week. Maybe if you just kill the person violently, you'll have to do work in the meantime for the rest of the week to try and calm the school down. For example, if you can't convince students and police that the murder was a suicide, or caused by someone outside of the school, it could result in a game over or penalties on future missions.
If you kill a girl early, the game gives you the option of playing out the rest of the week or just skipping it.
In the event of killing a girl early, the rest of your free time can be devoted to studying, which boosts your stats faster.
Definitely. You can damage her reputation so that other girls bully her until she commits suicide, or get her expelled from school, or make her fall in love with another student, or kidnap her and keep her in your basement at home.

If you decide to quit making this please at least release all that you have made thus far. So many good 4chan projects get started, show promise, and then stop without any warning. You look back months later and wonder what could have been. Could you have done something knowing that the last blog post you read would mean the mysterious end of an interesting project.

This list definitely isn’t final, but here’s a list of several ideas I’ve had:
Martial Arts Club: Yandere-chan gains the ability to perform a (loud) Judo throw that can knock out a student.
Sports Club: Yandere-chan can carry around a baseball bat without being considered suspicious.
Gardening Club: Yandere-chan can carry around a pair of garden shears without being considered suspicious.
Sewing Club: Yandere-chan has access to an unlimited number of clean uniforms.
Photography Club: Yandere-chan has access to a camera superior to her phone’s camera, and is not considered suspicious when snapping photographs.
Light Music Club: Yandere-chan has access to a guitar case, allowing her to transport corpses without being considered suspicious.
Drama Club: Yandere-chan gains access to a mask / wig, allowing her to disguise herself when committing murders. (Can be balanced to not be overpowered.)
Computer Club: Yandere-chan gains the ability to remotely hack a student’s cell phone or computer, gaining access to embarassing information that can damage that student’s reputation.
Archery Club: Yandere-chan gains access to a bow and arrow for long-distance murders.
Track Team: Yandere-chan can run 50% faster.
I like this idea. I know OP had mentioned preventing using the same method twice, but I think multiple violent killings should ramp up the difficulty quickly. Like having guards posted at every hallway after a few girls die.

Listen, I speak spanish, if you're thinking about making translation for the game I offer myself as a translator, I'd love to being involved in this game in any way but alas, I think this would be the only way I could help.
This effect should be magnified if the body is found. If it isn't found for whatever reason- blended and poured down a toilet, fed to animals, etc- the guards should still show up, because a kid vanished, but not as many as if a kid was found murdered.
If you kill students without leaving behind any evidence and dispose of the body, the school's atmosphere will not change. But if you leave lots of bloody weapons and dead bodies lying around, the school's atmosphere definitely changes. Students become more paranoid and are alerted more easily.
You can run around slaughtering girls indiscriminately if you want, although any time a body is discovered, a student will call the cops, who will come to the school and may arrest you if you have incriminating evidence on you at the time, so you should be stealthy about it if you don't want to get a Game Over.

The game last 10 weeks, so there is a lot of time before Senpai graduates.
If Senpai discovers too many dead bodies, his mental health suffers and his parents pull him out of school and move to another town, which is a Game Over.

As of now, I haven't ever considered allowing her to become class rep. It might be connected to taking out the Class Rep rival girl, though.
We'll only have field trips if my environment artist is okay with modeling a whole bunch of non-school environments.

You can't encounter any of them ahead of time. Each one of them is, for some reason, absent until the week you need to kill them. The teacher is a substitute teacher. The nurse was just hired that week. Some of the girls are exchange students who join in the middle of the year. Etc.
I just want to see an Ouendan girl/optional outfit/club on the game...

You can stalk and kill at any time of day, although circumstances are different at each time of day.
Before Class: Fewer students are around.
Lunchtime: Perfect for poisoning lunches or spreading rumors as people socialize.
After School: During cleanup time, it's not suspicious to be seen carrying a trash bin or dumping a heavy garbage bag into a dumpster or incinerator.

Based on how well you played the game you get a different sister. If you are efficient and kill your target quickly without being caught, she is innocent and hard to kill. If you take your time in the killing or play risky you get the slut, who is easy to manipulate.
In other words difficulty scaling.
As to why the personalities corresponds to the difficulty, if the sister is a slut she can easily be manipulated with her brother being the carrot on the end of the stick. If she is innocent you cant easily trick her and she will be quicker to frighten.

I'm guessing it's gonna have a hitman-esque style of killing people, where you can either go for run 'n' gun and kill everyone, stealthy where you just go for your target(s) and try not to get into too many unnecessary fights, and then the super-stealthy "accidental" kill where you set it up so that it looks like the murder was really just an accident

Playing cupid is only one way to eliminate a target. There are other methods, such as getting them expelled / bullied / kidnapped.

Mini-games and other games within games are the best. I loved Animal Crossing for that.
There are so many other names I could have gone with for this.
Each girl will have a unique death that applies only to her. Burning the Cooking President alive, getting the Drama President killed during a school play, drowning Swim Team Captain, etc.
But will there be a way to eliminate all the targets without killing them like no-kill runs in MGS?

Of course, it's not a priority but it's fun to be able to spend time doing other things in the room to mix up the gameplay and keep people playing for longer.
Collectible and customizable posters maybe. Stuff to do on the TV, even if something just points a media player to anime on your PC.
That all depends on whether or not my character modeller is willing to model, texture, and rig a bunch of hairstyles and articles of clothing.
Whenever a feature requires art assets, I can't promise it unless someone's willing to create me those assets for free or crowdfund the assets, since I can't make art myself.

Because of the Yandere Meter, every animation will need three forms: a casual version, a suspicious version, and an insane version.
For example, casual "stand still" looks normal. Suspicious "stand still" has the girl constantly looking over her shoulder, like she's paranoid. Insane "stand still" has the girl posing like an animal about to attack, with her fingers bent like claws, as her face moves through a series of crazy expressions.
I also need a stealth-kill-from-behind, a two-handed-weapon kill, a dragging-dead-body animation, a discovered-a-dead-body animation, 3 laughing animations...geez, it's hard to list how many animations I need; I need basically everything that is not "standing and walking", although people even criticize the placeholder walking animation...
I'm sorry, I don't know yet. I'll have to continue developing the game to find out how processor-intensive it gets. For example, if the game is downright unplayable when 100 students are walking around in the school, I'll have to make the student body 50 students, etc. I really won't know this stuff until the optimization phase of development.
May I make a suggestion?
There should be special "gimmick" pantsu to collect, gotten by doing something achievement worthy or by performing unique actions that most players wouldn't think of (basically, usable easter egg items obtainable by side events).
For example, if you go on a rampage and end up murdering everyone on the first school day, you could earn panstu that allows for ludicrous gibs/stupidly high blood loss when hurting or killing another student. It wouldn't be useful, but it sure as hell would be amusing and fun to play around with.
Panties could either be carried over on a new game+ or even on a game over.
That'd be more like Dead Rising where it'd encourage you to get through it all in one go without save scumming

It's made to look like it belongs on a calculator, so perhaps the Yandere can play this during classes if she wanted to.

I already have Paintball Mode from Goldeneye 007 (rainblow blood spurts out of a wound instead of red blood) so I think a girl exploding into gibs should be pretty easy.
I love silly cheat codes like "DK Mode" and crap like that, so I'd definitely love to include that stuff in the game.

Right now, if you hold down the - key her breasts deflate, and if you whole down the + key her breasts inflate. If there is character customization, breast size will definitely be part of it.

I've decided that you should be able to kidnap every girl, although it should be one of the game's hardest challenges. If you actually do that, the player should definitely be rewarded with a unique ending.

I'm not sure what you mean. If a dead body is discovered somewhere, the student who discovered it will freak out / call the cops / tell other students / tell a teacher. Then the cops come over and get rid of the dead body.
If you're asking if the stench of a dead body would cause people to avoid a place, no, it would cause them to investigate to find out what's causing the stench, and eventually find a dead body.
If you dump a corpse into a dumpster, nobody makes a big deal about it, because everyone expects dumpsters to smell absolutely horrible.

Every Sunday, a garbage truck comes to school, lifts the dumpsters into the air, and empties the bodies into the truck. The garbage men never even see what's inside. Eventually the dead bodies are discovered at a landfill somewhere, but there is no way to trace it back to the school at that point.

If you take a picture of Senpai, you can "use" the picture to lower your Yandere meter.
The animation for this will be Yandere-chan gazing longingly at the picture while little hearts float above her head. If you want, your personal headcanon can be that she's schlicking to the picture of Senpai, in public if necessary.
But the animation definitely won't convey that.

I've never considered this before, but it might be cool to have a "nightmare" close to the end of the game, where you are confronted by the ghosts of everyone you have ever killed. Like that boss battle in MGS3.

I'm mostly self-taught. I did take some game design classes at a community college, but none of that was helpful. What was most helpful was opening up game projects in Unity, dicking around in the scripts, and observing the results. I taught myself how to make variables and functions and use if/else statements, and that's already the majority of what you need to know in order to make interactive software. Most of programming is just using logic, math is rarely involved.
Although there was a lot of math involved when making the clock that goes at the top-left of the screen, and making it keep time accurately, making it modular so I could control the speed of the clock, etc...
I think animation priorities should be on stuff that's actually important. I'd like it too, but I want him to focus on stuff that's actually needed first like all the stuff he listed earlier
