>Thunder nerfed for the third time
>Down smash nerfed to Smash 64 usefulness
Which was very little
>Up smash nerfed for the second time
>Forward smash slightly nerfed
>Nair nerfed to the point of chasing opponents is pointless
>Fair, Uair, Dair, and the tilts had no change
Where were you when your main for 15 years was kill?
>Post won't go past sending
It's like the universe is trying to tell me that you're retarded, but I already knew that.
As a noob who didn't even play the wii smash I also noticed Pikachu's thunder to have shortened range.
I guess I'm happy it will take more skill to use considering how fucking spammable it used to be.
What are you talking about, Pika is a beast, forward smash actually got buffed cause it goes farther now, along with the new pivot attacks make it incredible. Thunder is now super safe to use outside of the stage because of the aerial body it give you when you are straight down, back air is now an incredible move rather than being fucking useless, AND still has one of the best recoveries ever
Pikachu moves faster now. His thunder was indeed nerfed, is slower on the draw, has smaller range and if you want to send someone flying with the tip of your thunder they'll just get metor smashed instead.
Nair is still good and him being faster helps him alot. His forward smash has pikachu stretch and it appears to be stronger as well.
I already endured the worst.
I was in turmoil, suffering for 6 years. He was a hollow shell of who he use to be?
But guess what? He will be coming back, and he's bringing his new buffs with him.
Less than 3 weeks, get ready for the fucking reckoning.
>people used pikachu
You have to be at least 18 to be on this site
You think you have it bad m8?
My main went from top-tier to complete garbage from Melee to Brawl.
Here's hoping she's good again.
>there are people that only play as characters after studying all their moves, hit viability, damage, all sorts of shit
>not just playing as someone you like
Been maining Ganondorf for years even though he's just a clone.
Fuck off, you wimpy bitch.
>telling people to play who you like, not who is ranked best on a spread sheet
>this is shitposting
No John, you are the shitposters.
Dedede confirmed for writing the Smash Bros tips
>tfw marth is not that bad as everybody was saying
I actually like him even more now
Lucario has the best ass though
How about you stop complaining about everything and just git gud?
Pikachu is fun as fuck nigga. Learn to enjoy things instead of whining about everything.
>Immediately hit again by the base of the lightning bolt
yet how many people are playing that one?
you can't take someone else's word for which characters are good or not. Japan is notorious for having completely different ideas about top-tiers, just look at their SF scene.
maybe you don't get it - if pikachu starts his thunder during the tiniest gap in a "combo", you hit him but then get hit by the thunder yourself
there's no opportunity to move away or punish, because it's him countering YOU. and he doesn't have lag, just whatever hitstun you gave him.
Mario, Link and Megaman can't use airdodge if you chase them out of stage without risking not being able to recover becaquse of all the lag between using their airdodge and being able to use their UP B
Even then most of the time your attack animations are faster compared to how fast the thunder comes down.
Getting away from the attacks is not Pikachus problem, his problem is not having a reliable off stage game and kill moves.
>tfw Pichu was in one of the games, Pikachu in all of them, and Raichu in NONE of them
Fuck was Raichu ever even an Assist trophy? or fuck even just a random bullshit trophy?!
what the FUCK Nintendo
you're not alone anon, i end up from a falco top tier player in melee, to mediocre in brawl with so much nerfs, and now what did he end to in smash bros 4? Its one thing to even the characters out, but with characters like little mac, shulk, robin, palutena, and rosalina having cheap attacks or buffed up moves, its once again a complete uneven game with characters like pikachu, fox, falco, captain falcon, and some other old characters being the weaker ones. Sakurai you fucked up
Anyone here gonna main Charizard?
He's a pretty good character to roleplay as
well, sure, whatever.
I'm just saying that while being juggled or whatever, Pikachu can just be mashing downB and it'll come down and fuck you.
like what happens in the first part of the video.
But you can read the "Thunder Counter" and not hit him, causing him to be stuck in the full thunder animation and then punish it.
Even then, I do agree that it's a good tool to have, but it doesn't really solve any of the problems that Pikachu has.
I've been playing brawl and Pikachu seemed OP with that move.
You couldn't hit Pikachu until the move had completely vanished from screen, even touching him got you hurt, and once it's effect is gone, Pikachu can attack again.
And his fucking down attack that had huge range in every direction was too much.
I'm glad they nerfed him.
so you mean you will guess he'll do it, and stop your combo, and hope that he was mashing?
I guess that could work.
I dunno, I don't have the demo so I really shouldn't talk, but since it seems to have like a 1-frame startup I don't know how you could possible react to it in the middle of going for something yourself, much less have time to get out of the blast zone.
>Thunder can literally spike people down into itself AND sets up for aerial combos
I think you're upset that it isn't as easy to hit with when you try to spam it like a three-year-old.
Noice. I loved maining as him, but my friends sure didn't.
My fucking niggah.
I notice sometimes my smash attacks hit them SUPER fucking hard on Pikachu, like KOing them at 110% with upsmash, and it makes a weird huge graphical effect. What is this? It's uncharged smash ans it slams them hard.
Also interesting to note, ftilt, if you dont angle it does 8%, angled down is 7% and angled up is 9%, for some reason.
His forward b sends them more horizontal than Pit's who sends them upwards.
His final smash is a 1:1 copy of Zelda's final smash
that's -literally- it.
I hope Sakurai isn't working on the next Smash Bros, he's turning into Miyamoto and Paper Mario
>tfw the only character I can kind of play is Marth in Melee
I will still buy the game, but I'm nothing without a c-stick. I'm tempted to wait until the wii u game. Got the demo from a friend.
People like you are worse than hitler
>I MAIN MARTH
>Oh cool, what's your favorite fire emblem?
Literally die but kill your family first so the cancerous gene pool that spawned you can't spawn another mistake ever again.
The potential of Pocket is incredible.
>Early on in game, Pocket Thunder and take the hit
>hold onto it
>later on, Pikachu is trying to recover vertically from below
>tfw when Kirby is able to do the same
Game sucks, sorry boyo. Mother 3's way better, one of my favorite RPGs, but it's still horribly overrated.
>being this mad
If we were talking about KOF and I said I'd never played Fatal Fury or Samurai Showdown you wouldn't be nearly this mad.
>Game sucks, sorry boyo.
You have convinced me with those hot opinions.
>Mother 3's way better
Sure, but that doesn't make Earthbound bad. Earthbound is great, mother 3 is a master piece.
That's pretty much it buddy. With recoveries being so good it's hard to kill them elsewise. Enjoy Pika. If you get them to 180% your thunder can kill them if you strike yourself with it next to them.
I'd tease him first I think, focusing on his cute balls as I edge him for a good while. Then I'll plop him on my lap and fuck his behind until that build-up load explodes all over him. Then cuddle and sleep.~ Start gentle, and then slowly spiral down the staircase of perversion,
>thread hijacked by furries
Good thread, you guys. I'm out.
I see you went for the goal right off, me? I'd probably massage and tease those adorable footpaws for a while, ocassionally giving his balls a nice pat just to remind him that this is going exactly where he thinks it is
>you will never get a pawjob from Raichu
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in other games you could only air dodge once and they you were done, right?
Why did this game change it so that you can dodge infinite times in the air? it doesnt feel right and you can longer bait out dodges so you can get in an aerial thats usual more hard to hit (like mario's fair)
>that forward b last hit
>that supercharged laser
MY NIGGA ROB CONFIRMED FOR MAIN AGAIN
His forward smash also got a huge range buff, it has like 3-4 times the range from brawl (it's a bit slower now though).
Also no one has gotten his customs yet, not a lot of people play as R.O.B
Honestly nearly every character got buffed, even Metaknight that got nerfed still looks pretty good.
Are there any character that are considered bad now?
Most of the characters got pretty good reception (Maybe except Marth so far)
Would you bite Raichu's ears?
>mfw no more Falco chaingrab
I'm so happy they made chaingrabs impossible, it was horrible in Brawl.
I'm really happy to hear Jigglypuff has been buffed. Been playing her since 64.
>there are people who have played more than ten minutes of Smash Bros, and yet still can't beat a Pikachu spamming downB
>there are even some who think this strategy was OP in Brawl
I'll bear that in mind the next time I try to discuss game mechanics here.
He has the precision though. I want to play Jiggs so badly but I can't grasp the spacing or the movement.
I just can't fathom the things that Hbox does, especially at that fucking level.
Do you...have anything more saucy? I won't blatantly ask for lewd since I know some fear the hammer and won't post it, but maybe more suggestive at least?
I knew a guy who claimed to be a local champion in his state and talked like he was the hottest shit with Pikachu in Brawl. I had seen good Pikachu players cancelling quick attack and such and thought this guy would have some neat tricks like that. When we finally played he just spammed down smash for 12 fights.
That's not really true. Both his forward and up smash have fine KO power, pikachu is just so small that they're tricky to land against a half-decent player. You need to pay attention and not commit to a smash if it might miss. Grabs are great, and it's super fucking easy to get the enemy off the ledge.
I've been playing a lot of Megaman, and so far my most reliably kills have been coming from either Dair meteor kills, or fully charged F-smashes when opponents try to recover.
A lot of Megaman's priority should be making an opening to push the opponent off of the edge, metal blade can make that opening, running attacks can push them quite far off or grabs too, then you can try for the meteor hard knuckle.
I've been able to KO level 9 CPUs at about 60% damage this way.
Pikachu has it the old bair kick in
Excuse me for being a Smash casual but what just happened there? I pressed R right as I landed after being hit and landed with no downtime. I know it isn't L-canceling, and I don't remember if anything like that was in Brawl.
>let me prove his point!
I ship him and Falc, personally. Have to agree with you though, that canine got booty.
Acting as cool as cucumber doesn't make you less upset ;3c
+ Forward aerial has strengthened.
+Neutral aerial deals much more damage when sweetspotted; it deals 16% as opposed to the 12% it dealt in Brawl.
+ Forward throw deals 1% more damage.
+ Up tilt and up aerial both have drastically less ending lag. The former also has much lower knockback scaling, making it more useful at lower percentages.
+ Down smash is much harder to SDI.
+ Sweetspotted dash attack is slightly stronger.
+ Thunder can now meteor smash opponents who touch the upper part of the bolt near the cloud, quickly sending the opponent back down to Pikachu and allowing a tech-chase or followups such as an up smash
- However, this renders Pikachu unable to get early vertical KOs, hindering Thunderspiking in general.
- Volt Tackle deals less damage and knockback.
+ It lasts slightly longer.
Notice.png It appears to be slower, though it is more controlled.
- Forward smash, forward tilt, up aerial, and back aerial deal less damage.
Nerf.png Down smash has higher ending lag.
- Down throw appears to have higher knockback growth, limiting Pikachu's followup options.
- Pikachu's Quick Attack can not be cancelled into the ground anymore, removing the possibility of the QAC technique.
>Someone makes this comic
>I now choose to believe that Ness has become stronger in Lucas's memory
>running momentum doesn't transfer into aerial momentum
That's really what made him unviable in Brawl and it's in SSB4 too
The other nerfs were just icing on the cake
Does midair Falcon Kick give you your double jump back in SSB4? Does Raptor Boost grab the edge?
I've been seeing this. Pikachu is a BEAST in this game. You guys need to relearn him a little bit. Yes, his F Smash did get nerfed and so did his U Smash but everything else is gravy. So many lagless moves and his aerial game is on point. He has nice recovery, so bairing off stage is just great.
Sorry. I knew the demo was out already, but sometimes people post screens of the actual game. No need to be an asshole about it.
It's where instead of selecting a Hero at the start of the game you decide to save up money to upgrade and focus on your creeps. It's a different playstyle and is fun if you can do it right.
Its funny you say this, I was thinking about this today and it would be an awesome clone actually. It would make sense too -- in this vein >>263513025
Man, I really want this. Someone get the Project M folks on this.
64 didn't have air dodging and Brawl had infinite airdodges. I'll say this: I prefer one air dodge, but the landing lag is substantial. I have been able to follow up a good bit.
They're easier than ever in this version, I normally can't fight them at all but they're a cakewalk to beat up now. I suck at Smash and I can barely use any of the characters from the demo on top of that.
lvl 9 cpu has bullshit reaction time on shield, spot dodge and air dodge to make up for how retarded the decisions they make are
>I will dash attack thia Bowser charging a forward smash, what could possibly go wrong?
Am I imagining things or is the 2nd Quick Attack really strong? It does just enough knockback for you to combo it into up smash or up tilt at almost any percent. I haven't tried it against real people yet though so I'm not sure how easy it would be to catch a Pikachu out of it.
>fair is the new bair, you can wall of pain with it and its easier to do
>bair is the new fair, sends you off stage at 70% and leads to easy off stage kills
>dair went from fucking useless to fucking amazing, first hit sends you downward, and the last hit actually has knockback now
>fsmash has more range and ground moves are generally quicker
>neutral b is harder to use, but it may have a better custom option anyway
>side b has more knockback I think
>rest is easier to use
JIGGS IS BACK
>come home from all day shift
>check archives for Pikachu got nerfed thread
>50 posts in started lewd dump
>100 posts in started actual porn
At least this one is okay.
>tfw always wanted raichu in smash
>fucking PICHU in melee
>dark pit in because
Think I might main Megaman he is actually really fucking cool once you learn him. Can't be for sure though I'm really excited to play some Samus, Ike, meta knight, mac, greninja, and pacman. Why does the release have to be so farrr
So is Falcon good again? I saw some footage but a lot of people just don't know what they're doing (or the 3ds controls are weird/awful).
Is the knee still brawl-tier shit? I can't tell because people usually land it really close to the enemy like in Brawl, so I dunno if it has more active frames or bigger hitbox.
nair does 9% in smash 4, it's weaker
fthrow does the same damage as in brawl 10%
utilt and uair feels the same lag wise. and uair has much higher knocback scaling. It had so much more combo potential in brawl and now it's gone.
sweetspot dash attack is so much stronger that it can actually kill.
Thunder can meteor smash but it makes them bounce them off the ground. You can't tech chase that or follow up.
ftilt does the same damage as it did in brawl
>play as mario in the demo
>all of the lv9 cpu's are piss easy besides
>any time i'm forced into sudden death i just use mario's up+b for free win
>mfw faggots are complaining about nerfs when Project M 2.0 will come and balance the whole roster
He played like a big person in brawl, now he is an actual big person.
Guys help my friend keeps kicking my ass in this game and it's making me really angry how do I get good?
>not letting your heart be conquered
