I'm really confused about all this myself.

X Zones in particular, REALLY REALLY wants to project the atmosphere of being a fighting game, or at the least a beat 'em up. I don't know exactly why they wouldn't pull the trigger.

It's not like Bandai hasn't done ridiculously large crossover fighters in the past with Jump Stars games.

I'm aware of the criticism. But I honestly prefer "Frankenstein". Because things need proper names, and that's the one that's been assigned to him. Whether through confusion or heredity; I don't care.

Not just because I'm a stickler about Yeti, or Nessy over Snow Monster and Loch-ness Monster. But in metafiction Dr Frankenstein has made dozens of things. That need to be kept straight. Just like how there are things from the Black Lagoon other than Gillman "The Creature from the Black Lagoon".

The whole series has a cartoony look to it, so that's intentional. It was the first Capcom fighter to be drawn in the cel style as opposed to the gradiated Street Fighter 2, after all. And lots of the character damage reactions are straight out of Looney Tunes.

Considering Morrigan and Lilith are biblical figures who have tons of art being succubuses from the Renaissance, I really don't see where the inspiration for head wings comes from.

They don't have anything to do with those characters aside from borrowing their names. The names wren't decided until late in the development process, after their designs, movesets, sprites and such were nearly done. Hence this test menu simply referring to the characters as "Vampire" "Frankenstein" "Werewolf"" and such.
