Why is this allowed? 4 continues to further dumb the game down by making smash DI nearly non-existent. Multi-hit attacks and items like smart bomb are now nearly impossible to get out of. They're just a bunch of guaranteed damage.

4 also has a weird input buffer where you can run in one direction, tilt the C-stick in the opposite direction, and get a pseudo-wavedash forward tilt. It's going to make characters with good forward tilts cheesy because there's pretty much 0 tech skill involved in doing so, and other characters with bad forward tilts aren't given the same benefit for their good attacks like jab, down tilt, etc.

I play smash for fun with my friends and couldn't give a shit about all these supar l33t wombo combo's and statistics that you mlg pro's need to for your tournaments.

The only difference I noticed between Melee and Brawl was that is felt a bit slower. Brawl was still fun as fuck.

I think you're looking at two different groups of people. I love Smash Bros., but I couldn't give two shits for the competitive scene. I mean, it's great if they can find enjoyment in it that I can't, but that's just not why I buy it. I enjoyed Brawl more than Melee. And I'll be buying Kerfuffle.

Not conforming to tournyfags doesn't make the games shit. However there are some changes that are crap. Namely speed and jump momentum, and a feeling of "float"

A game can have levels of depth. I would hate for smash to be all wavedashing all the time but at the same token the game doesn't gain anything from having the option to do so removed.

It will still be fun because it is by nature a fun game, but to imply that it's shit AND to imply that these changes are "good" for the game are the same level of idiotic.

Those were the games that got me into the IPs, really, the N64 was an amazing machine in general, and I had great fun with them, but in no way are they more fun today than the more recent releases. They're just clunky, with less precise controls, less options / features, and look worse too boot.
