It's not "Mushroom Kingdom Kart" anyway, it's Mario Kart and Mario was the MC of the original DK games.

To my knowledge Mario has never made an appearance in any Zelda game unless there's some easter egg I don't know about.

That doesn't really negate where the series came from. F-Zero was never really meant to be one of Nintendo's majors series. It's less of a "show off the gimick" series than, say, PilotWings, but F-Zero is to Mario Kart as Fossil Fighters is to Pokemon.

What I'm saying is, actual people who like F-Zero because they're fans of the games themselves are few and far between. A big chunk of people who rabble for new F-Zero are also the people who think that its related to anything Capt. Falcon does in Smash.

Hell, even Max Velocity was created as a tie in to the anime which was just a big lead up to Capt. Falcon using a Falcon Punch to save the day.
