old one's about to 404
I want to say fuck Smea for not releasing Kernel access/a way to play 3DS roms since i'm sure he knows how to do it, but he said his next goal is to start working on removing region locking this weekend after the release. That's cool I guess.
This is an userland xploit that will require a retail game or eshop version (not available in all countries) to work. Game name is NOT YET released.
YES, this will run homebrew apps.
NO, an userland xploit can't allow you to load roms.
NO, even with this, it could take months to never to have an actual working kernex xploit. Example, the 4.5 xploit that gateway uses to load games haven't been ported to load things from SD card.
READ SO YOU DON'T FEEL DISAPOINTED WHEN THIS HIT THE STREETS.
Hahahaha, that shit? It has like 6 versions that get deprecated every 6 months.
The glorious DSTwo works since before the 3ds came out up to this day. Best investment ever.
Yeah, that will be so sweet.
No, learn the difference about user and kernel xploits anons.
You didn't lived the psp hacking era?
>He doesn't like piracy
what a loser
That's how it is with these scene devs. They're perfectly okay with removing the restrictions on these devices, allowing you to do things that the manufacturer doesn't want you to...
...but then they turn around like the complete hypocrites that they are and implement their own restrictions on what they feel you should be allowed to do with the hardware.
THIS SHOULD'VE ON THE OP THE NEXT THREAD.
Dev here, I would love to start developing shit on the 3ds, first thing I will make will be a rhythm game, wait for it.
Like on the psp days right?... oh wait! That isn't the case.
Underage b& like you don't know the difference about user and kernel xploits, its not about restrictions, its about not being able to load roms without a kernel mode.
Every userland xploit didn't allowed to play ISO games until they found kernel xploits.
They're already breaking the law by modifying the 3DS. Why are they stopping at piracy? Because they still want a sense of moral superiority by not giving into "filthy pirate" despite the fact that it is illegal to modify game software.
I'm literally just going to download this so I can stuff a bunch of emulators on it, fuck the cops, fuck warranty b/c I actually take care of my shit.
Maybe I'll be able to use it as a portable gamecube if the control scheme isn't too autistic.
You better not be rusing me. I wanna try out this shit, first time I ever dug my hands into homebrew shit
I never had a Wii or Wii U to do so. Would be fun to try out GBA/DS games without getting one of those R4 or M3 gimmicks by using the SD card. Not really interested in 3DS emulation, I'd rather save my money to buy them.
If smealum is using a kernel xploit, then yes, there will be rom loaders pretty fast.
If this is an user xploit, then no, you will not have rom loading and any proper dev will confirm this withint hours of the release.
That was actually modded to run the hen enablers/modded firmwares in the end
Anyone ever play POWDER? Shits my favorite rogue like, and its pretty much for everything. Really hope it gets ported to 3DS now, to.
If anyone has played it I was thinking about going in and adding actual sounds/music, I think it would make it better.
Your post still doesn't have anything to do with mine. Are you insecure about your age or something? You seem pretty intent to call me underage regardless of your actual understanding of what I posted.
Yes, you bought a shitty r4 or one of the thousand of clones.
Should've get a DSTwo
That shit need an ass fast cpu, a 3ds port will have like half or a quarter of the features and would've pretty slow.
All they have to do is not release screens or videos and just give a rough estimate of what's done and they cannot be cease and desisted.
They can secretly leak screens on forums and message boards and not claim them as theirs
Das like the only homebrew worth using on the DS
Portable Gamecube is possible once the Denver K1 SOC is out
The K1 out right now on the XIAOMI/NVIDIA TABLET is the quad core variant which isn't as good for Dolphin as the super dual core variant due Q4'ish 2014
My bad, I thought you was refering to "powder toy", this game.
I had a r4 clone that worked only up to 4.1 or something, just got an DSTwo and works like a charm.
I wish I knew how to code. Releasing a homebrew game for the 3DS sounds like it would be a fun as fuck little hobby. Maybe something like a beat'em up in the style of Little Fighter or something.
Anybody know what you would need to learn in order to start creating homebrew? Or am I just going to have to look into it whenever Smealum releases the devkit he mentioned on his twitter?
Basically, piracy for 3DS.
Maybe I should get one.
Maybe not after all, I don't know what I'd play.
Another one that don't read the thread bite the dust!
No, smealum initial release won't open rom loading doors, depending on what xploit is he using there could've something later or never.
>Yes, you bought a shitty r4 or one of the thousand of clones.
>Should've get a DSTwo
>tfw you bought an iEdge like a fucking idiot
It only works on old ass 3DS versions apparently, and hasn't been updated in like 3 years.
I'd like to think it would be simple for someone to manage to get it working on the 3DS, but probably not.
Well I guess that's cool too.
I dont give a shit about homebrew. I sorta give a shit about region-free gaming. I definitely give a shit about loading pirated roms onto it. until that happens, enjoy playing your shitty emulators and terrible user-made "software"
I don't know much about this stuff, and you seem pretty knowledgeable about this -- what are the chances that a kernel exploit could be found through the user exploit? Is it even possible?
Do you think it would be possible to use this exploit to downgrade the firmware on the 3DS?
If he gets this shit working I'm importing RF4. That was one of the reasons I fucking bought a 3DS in the first place so it was a slap to the face when it was cancelled here.
>guy makes homebrew that can load gamecube games on the wii
>it has much better compatibility than the piece of shit dios mios
>it requires a physical copy of the original game to work
Right now the most powerful tablet/phone SOC is barely getting 20-30FPS on GC games
I mean everyone wants this
But realistically this is the best we have right now
No shit sherlock, thats why I asked what the fuck the guy thinking Gamecube games would run on 3DS was talking about
I'm only interested if it can run some stable emulators
I'm really annoyed at how piss poor virtual console has become. Most games I still own anyways because I'm a mild collectfag so I don't want to buy shit I already own
Not arguing that teuidj isn't a stuck up moral asshole, but dios-mios actually has come a fair way. Or rather, its successor Nintendont has. Recently added audio streaming. Devolution still has the edge probably, but only slightly, and at least crediar doesn't bow down to anti piracy crybabies.
>buy 3DS for RF4
So what do you guys think, should I buy the game once it gets revealed even if I don't give a fuck about homebrew and only want region free and piracy?
I'm exaggerating, it's great for what it is but it sucks that the situation could be so much better. I'd say 90% of games I've tried have worked flawlessly. I recently tried playing baten kaitos and that was a no-go because every time you save it corrupts. Some games used to work fine but were broken in newer versions like battle for bikini bottom.
>dios-mios actually has come a fair way
I guess so, I just wish it was a little better so it wasn't even something to think about. I'm an entitled asshole.
I'll never understand you guys who will still buy games you couldn't before the region locks are removed..
>jewtendo region blocks
>hacker removes it
>buy games which supports nintendo
just wait to pirate them like responsible gamers instead of feeding the fire
>Apparently Fire Emblem is huge
I wish I could see your reaction to the Bravely Default block size.
Fire Emblem Awakening - 8,577 blocks Bravely Default - 26,495 blocks
As for SD card, look for micro SD cards that come with an SD card adapter. They're slightly cheaper.
Honestly I wish I would have gotten this since I got a 16gb micro SD card for my 3DS like two months ago for $10 at BestBuy.
>Bravely Default - 26,495 blocks
wow holy shit. How big is that in actual MBs/GBs?
>micro sd card with adapter is 16 bucks
>most sd cards are around the same price if not a dollar more on amazon
ehh I'd rather just spend the extra dollar.
Make fake reports and spam it with them, eventually they'll just ignore all of the actual valid reports.
If they manage to figure out Region Lock, then that's when I install it. I'll buy the exploit game when it's announced though as it's bound to go up in price.
>tfw will finally be able to play games like Super Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time 3D and
Adventure Time: Hey Ice Kingwithout getting fucked in the ass with shitty conversion prices here in the UK
I bet a lot of people feel that way. I wish I would have bought the physical copy too since my system freezes for like 2 seconds whenever I scroll over the icon.
3.23 GB it looks like
I just want piracy by the time SSB4 releases for the chance of it being leaked.
Devolution is technically the best one but you need the actual disc for 'verification' which sort of defeats the purpose.
Still, I tried with with about 50 games and only one didn't work properly.
Yeah, that's not gonna work now that Gamecube games are starting to get hard to find or expensive for the well known ones. I'm only looking into gamecube piracy in the first place because I bought three separate copies of a game from local shops and none of them read.
This is not a gateway clone thread.
We don't know yet, all we have is inconclusive hints. Just wait until it gets announced (probably friday) and then quickly buy a copy. No point in taking a risk now since prices won't rise instantly anyway and you might end up with useless trash.
actually, it depends on the game. There's two versions of bravely default. vanilla and for the sequel. For the sequel is also the version that got an international release, which contains an english translation (not sure about english voices though)
Vanilla bravely default was smaller because no dual language
It fits all of the hints, a leaker said that's the game (although this might be bullshit), and Smealum favorited a tweet from a random guy saying he believed DoAD was the game.
Nice, maybe someday when there is a way to use it for roms i can pirate nogames. Because the 3ds is pretty much dead since this year began. Smash bros is the only game that looks interesting, and this will be miles better on wii u. Should have bought a vita or at least a wii u instead. Even though both are /v/s mainfocus for hate they both offer more games im interested in than the 3ds at the moment.
Nobody gave a shit about the psp until it was hacked, and it became a massive success because of it. Nintendo should be ecstatic about this, finally a reason for people to buy their piece of shit handheld.
>Software sales were utter dogshit because everyone stole every game
>System was sold at a lose so Sony LOST money as a result
>Stigma of the PSP's poor software sales bleed over to the Vita which got zero support.
Fuck you, you smug cunt, Pirates killed the PSP to the point the only decent games were Japanese only since those guys would buy anything.
I wouldnt say that. I would mainly buy the wii u for smash bros and bayonetta to be honest, but since i put way more than 600h in brawl on the wii i wouldnt mind using the wii u as a smash bros machine as well. And i counted more than 10 games i would want on the vita not including the ones that are coming the next months, so i guess after using the 3ds for smash bros until it comes out for wii u i will just sell it and get a wii u and propably a vita as well since the vita is dirtcheap anyway.
The PSP's strongest titles both quality wise and sales were games that only appealed to core gamers, and open minded folks
Outside of FIFA/GTA/ I don't think I ever had a customer ask me for any games but those
I doubt it. I mean, I don't know much about how it all works, but PSP was booting up PSX EBOOTs rather than ISOs.
What's really fucking weird is that PSX EBOOTs ran really fucking good, even for games that weren't actually ported onto the store. Rather it was an actual ISO turned EBOOT.
Then people tried injecting N64 games into the Wii as a .wad and shit either ran like garbage/didn't run/ran but didn't function or save properly.
>CAN NATIVELY RUN DS GAMES
CAN NATIVELY RUN DS GAMES
>CAN NATIVELY RUN DS GAMES
No more stupid bullshit on cards with microprocessors in them trying to emulate perfectly. I wonder what else can run natively on this shit.
Nah, that was just a small update issued by gamefreak to fix some sort of wi-fi connectivity problem in X&Y if I remember correctly.
Smea confirmed his homebrew loader will work on the latest firmware. I wouldn't update past that should some update magically pop up between now and the release in a few hours/days though, just to be on the safe side.
The problem is that both Vita and 3DS don't have that many actual upcoming releases, most of them are titles already released ages ago in Japan finally making their way to the west. If you go look at the upcoming games over there, you'll notice how the list is kinda empty except for stuff like Pokemon and Smash on 3DS or the occasional "weeb" game on Vita.
The influence of mobile games and bad hardware or marketing choices made both consoles peak really early in their life, and now they're already going down. Of course they won't die istantly, especially in the west precisely because games take more time to get here, but I don't see them being too relevant for more than 1-2 years.
The Wii U is already in a better position since it is and will always be the go-to console for Nintendo games and nothing will take that away until the end of the gen.
That's implied anon. The reason we couldn't do it before is because the original DSes didn't have storage and nobody bothered to hack the DSi.
Since the 3DS is backwards compatible it'll run every game perfectly, we most likely have to wait a little for a program to load the ROMs and we'll be good (shouldn't be too long considering the very old firmware on the original DS).
Not even kernel level will support upgrading or downgrading. That ussually requires bootloader level exploiting. If there was a bootloader level exploit, nintendo would be fuckt
>Also, why would you need this if it runs in the latest firmware now?
So that I can keep it on 8.0 while playing games from a higher firmware?
Like I don't understand how I could be able to import and not get bugged by firmware.
Just a question in mind. How does the game's cartridge have a play in this? Does the game end up being unusable/no longer playable after installing the Homebrew Channel or you just need it there in the cartridge slot and you could still play it afterwards if you remove the program? Just curious since SM3DL is mentioned being one of the rumored games and I have it, but the thought of making it unplayable kinda messes with my head. Still pretty damn new figuring things out.
>Does the game end up being unusable/no longer playable after installing the Homebrew Channel or you just need it there in the cartridge slot and you could still play it afterwards if you remove the program
Do you literally have no idea how anything works? This just causes a buffer overflow and allows you to install the homebrew channel.
The world isn't going to suddenly pile onto a game because a hack that enables nothing of value yet uses it.
Twilight Princess didn't suddenly sell out on the Wii for being the first method of entry.
why are you faggots so excited for non-pirate hoembrew on the 3ds? anything that could possibly be ported already works better on an android device
just get an xperia play for $30 and be happy about it
Read the manga then. It's got better art anyway.
Twilight Princess (Wii) wasn't cheap, and wasn't at risk of becoming scarce (unlike the GameCube version).
No it wasn't, unless you believe leaks with no proof whatsoever.
The game has some kind of glitch or bug that opens up a vulnerability, the hack (from the 3DS's SD card, I guess) exploits that vulnerability to install the homebrew channel. The game itself should be fine afterwards, I don't think the 3DS can even write on it or anything outside of the save file.
>>must use touchscreen
you obviously dont know hwat an xperia play is, retard
let alone an nvidia shield, the console that has more and better nintendo games than the 3ds does
I just don't really understand it personally. How you would be able to play regiofree but not keep your firmware on a lower level while spoofing.
It's essentially the same thing
im recommending them for emulators. it cant possibly be less comfortable to use than a 3ds
what im really recommending is the nvidia shield
>changing software on a device you own is illegal
>you rent devices from Nintendo and apple, not buy them
>this is what drones actually believe
Honestly it would make sense given how it fits all of Smealum's hints, the problem is that the leak went on with OP saying how he and his team were working on another hack based on the same exploit, that said hack already allowed piracy, cheating and even stuff like custom textures and models, and that we would have heard from him sometime soon. Kinda bullshit I think.
I haven't used homebrew since the Wii.
Can anyone make some greentext list of the features this 3DS one will have on its initial release?
And also, I'd have to stop updating my 3DS to use homebrew too, right?
I just hope this eventually leads to something along the lines of a Softmod.
As more people are able to run their own code on a system, eventually people will wiggle their way around to get piracy and shit rolling.
>INB4 piracy crap
If I like the game I buy it. Unless it's digital only, then fuck that.
>implying you can alter that device without breaking encryption
If the device is open source, sure, it's fine. Shit like Apple garbage is encrypted and to alter it, you need to break that encryption which violates the DMCA.
While true, if it were unencrypted, would it really be considered "jailbreaking?"
so whats so good about Homebrew?
I wish to know
And all that means is the creator of the product can brick your device and it's perfectly legal if the user agreement includes a clause saying that if you modify the device's software, they can not be held responsible for any adverse affects.
Doing shit you want that the hardware manufacters would never allow.
Tweaking crap / porting games / messing with apps / whatever.
Give it a week or two and somebody will have a version of Quake running from it.
>mfw the retards back in my osu! days asked for a DS port
Good times. Still pretty unlikely for the 3DS though.
No, it does not. Smealum's exploit has no kernal access, which is a core requirement for piracy. The most you can get out of it is some homebrew emulators.
Speaking of piracy, I just snagged a Gateway and brand new 4.2 3DS for $150. Does anyone know of where the fuck to find some roms? My usual torrent sites have jack shit.
From what I can gather, 3DS games, no, DS games, possibly, as long you have the game cartridge they're using to take advantage of its exploit to install the Homebrew Channel, which will not affect the game itself, but could use the save file.
To some people nothing about it is interesting, to others it's very interesting.
Honestly I like my 3DS and the games I currently own/plan on owning in the future. Having the added ability for emulators as well as homebrew games/apps in the future is awesome and I look forward to seeing how they extend the 3DS' use with this homebrew launcher.
>tfw I can emulate all the games on my backlog when this comes out
College started up again and I usually have free time between classes. Would love to knock out some games.
>Buying a handheld for just one game
Will this only work on 3ds' which havent updated software?
Fair attempt but nowhere near being close.
Now that I think about it, was there any worthwhile homebrew DS game?
poorfag nintendrones getting BLOWN THE FUCK OUT
>mfw I got gateway on release
>no region locking
>e-shop title support
>new update which is already in beta will allow people to play games on the current firmware + more e-shop title support
You sorry faggots will NEVER EVER have a firmware that supports gateway
Well for me, since I had to use that shit as a phone for awhile, I can say it had it's own heft for a modern phone, and it was small, a bit smaller than the normal 3DS. The triggers were shit and the analogs being touch based had to be the worst of it all.
I hope so. I know emulators will definitely take a long time before they actually become useful in the 3DS, but DS games is where it's at, so many games I missed. I hope it doesn't take too long. GBA games would be nice though too.
gbatemp sure are a bunch of faggots nowadays.
>Does anyone know of where the fuck to find some roms?
Kickassto, there are collections of english ROMS dumped by VENOM.
Check out ds.essh.co for a table listing any new dumps made.
I'm downloading all the roms as we're speaking.
They are never going to port it. How else am I going to play it? Maybe I'd download that new Fire Emblem, but what else is there? Smash will be lame playing alone. I need my buddies in the room. Nobody else I know had a 3DS.
JNKPlat '08, ROMhax, some shit I've forgotten about but was fun until I completed it, and emulators were good enough for me. Hopefully since the 3DS isn't a total piece of shit and we don't need to buy flashcarts anymore there'll be better homebrew and more of it.
Nintendon't just had a huge breakthrough last week when Fix94 finally figured out how to add Audio Streaming into the launcher. Crediar is also adding it into Dios Mios when he has the time so you'll have 99% Gamecube game compatibility.
Doom, Hexen, Heretic, Tyrian, a bunch of other ports like powder and cannon fodder.
For fully homebrew there was some stuff kicking around, even the weird ass Portal game that the dude who is hacking the 3DS made.
>Why have invite sites become such faggots about this?
No reason other than SEKRUT KLUB. I get the idea that forcing people to seed to keep torrents alive is good, but the whole secret club thing is just there to make them look ever so exclusive and cool.
>3DS gets homebrew
>RetroArch gets ported
>Libretro cores for consoles with psudeo-3D capabilities like Famicom & Master System's shutter glasses & Virtual Boy gets enhanced 3D support
>the dsi was never cracked
He's talking about specific DSiWare games, such as Shantae Risky's Revenge.
There's a few games that were digital only, DSi only, and no one ever bothered to crack DSi mode since it was a pain in the ass and didn't have any "full" games worth bothering with it to get.
>implying Nintendo are ever dropping the 3DS
It's way too hard to get hardware into the people's hands now and they're going to make use of that somewhat large 3DS install base for as long as possible.
>It's way too hard to get hardware into the people's hands now
>what is Iphone
all they need is update hardware, marketing and this time, for a change, actually have games ready for release window
Nintendo have the games and Virtually a monopoly on dedicated vidya handheld hardware (Vita is dead)
all they need is to really just have some high profile games on release, like Mario, MH5-6 and something else and presto
Why would you want this over gateway when the latter is already out in full force?
If its for emulators, why don't you simply emulate on a PC or portable android device.
Or they could stick with the 3DS since exactly, they have no competition and there's no money to be made anymore in hardware price gouging since people will simply ignore you. They make dosh by selling game to their existing fans, not dropping these fans and forcing them to get a 4DS which they probably won't do without some costly convincing.
>Why would you want this over gateway when the latter is already out in full force?
Because if this ends up actually allowing piracy, it will work on a broader range of firmware versions and will most likely be cheaper as well.
Are we getting cheat codes for the 3DS now? Or a 3DS parallel to Riivolution?
>shy guy colors in 7
>he was a retard that bricked his console because he couldn't follow instructions
mfw I play on gateway 3ds xl for half a year already.
Is it so hard to read the goddamn thread?
I was more referring to how Devolver announced Duke 3D for the Vita a year ago, and in the last several months it was said to be 'nearly finished' yet there's no release. They've been very quiet about it.
It's not like installing CFW on the DS where you had to short your SL1 without fucking anything near it while it was powered without a battery inside it and while running the software to flash the firmware.
I kinda wish Renegade Kid was allowed to do this.
>the game is Mh3U
>you have to get to g rank and kill brachydios
i will die from laughter
My family got its first computer when I was 10, and we all use it to this day, and my laptop is pre-built, so yes.
I game on neither of them. I don't even game at all that much anymore.
It technically was, but it was an exploit for some DSiware Sudoku game that nobody bought and that Nintendo patched almost immediately after so only maybe 100 people got it. Nothing allowing anyone to pirate DSiware.
Funny how they decided to release a port of the original game to the 3DS too, why not just make the 3D version available on eShop
Doesn't Nicalis have the rights or some shit? Unless I fell for /v/ misinfo
the port is the old DSi one. they are trying to get the 3D one on the eShop last I heard.
>Doesn't Nicalis have the rights
Technically they do but only so nobody else can publish it. but Pixel is free to do whatever he wants with his own shit. If he wanted to make a cave story 2 he could just go to nicalis and be all "yo lemme do this shit" and they would just be all "ok"
/v/ just likes to hand out misinfo like candy a lot to stir shit up
>Pixel is more jewish than Nicalis
what? how is pixel or nicalis in anyway jewish? nicalis is pretty chill and pixel gave cave story for free
>It feels pretty weird seeing all this hype when I'm not able to see the 3D on the 3DS.
It's a pretty amazing effect. You are missing out. Do you only have one eye? have you ever experienced depth?
You've chose a shitty time to join then. This is not a kernel exploit.
No 3DS roms, no emulating firmware, only old emulators at the price of updating.
Call me when someone reverse engineers it to find a real exploit.
Say the game gets announced that is used for homebrew, will both the EU and the NA version of it work, or will it be exclusive to americans?
It would suck if it ended up being DOAD since it wasn't ever released in my country. Would have to import it from another PAL country.
Holy shit you're retarded.
He HAS a kernel exploit.
He purposely used a lower level user exploit to block piracy completely. Knowing him he probably used a user ploit separate from the kernel just so we can't reverse it.
Just saw the old thread claiming that Dead or Alive Dimensions was the game needed. Been thinking about grabbing this game anyway, so I'm gonna get a copy now. EB Games has it for $19 shipped to my door, however it has the pic related cover. Not sure if this is an updated version or something, so will this likely work still?
I can almost guarantee that him will announce the game just as I enter my job shift.
Let the guinea pig found out :^), there is thousand of people trying that shit and every app is loged in the records. If nintendo wanted, they could remote-brick everyone using it.
Any event like that would generate an enormous amount of ill-will towards Nintendo. It would be commercial suicide. They don't have the balls. In fact, I don't think any company has the balls to do that today.
SEGA could have done it back in the 90s, but that was the 90s.
It doesn't matter, you're accepting the EULA when powering up the device, nintendo could at the very least delete everything remotely and don't give a fuck.
There were huge shitstorm since the 3ds release because of that eula that state that they can disable your device at any time.
>If nintendo wanted, they could remote-brick everyone using it.
and then get hammered by a massive lawsuit seeing as doing that is illegal in most of the countries where they're do business.
An EULA doesn't override laws, they're actually legally flimsy and no court would ever uphold them. They're the equivalent of Nintendo saying "Do what we want or we'll get angry!".
They already did that and no one could put a finger on Nintendo.
Remember that many bricks for using clone gateway cards?
That is the mechanism activating, they already know what nintendo detects to brick consoles but its so low level no one can prove they did it.
Of course gateway knew about that and they just avoid moving shit they shouldn't be moving.
>Remember that many bricks for using clone gateway cards?
That was done by the Gateway fuckers.
Practically every console can be bricked and it would be obvious as fuck that Nintendo was the one doing it if this were the case.
The original DS could be semi-bricked by flashing the first section of the firmware that wasn't protected by the SL1.
>They already did that and no one could put a finger on Nintendo.
because Nintendo didn't do that
>That is the mechanism activating, they already know what nintendo detects to brick consoles but its so low level no one can prove they did it.
I don't think you understand how bricking works, the 3DS doesn't have sleeper code to brick the machine, the flashcart took out part of the OS by itself.
>the flashcart took out part of the OS by itself.
That's the most generic explanation about that I've heard, but ok, it may be just that, filesystem corruption so the 3ds cant mount the partition.
I hope it's a game I already have.
Not because I care about the homebrew, but because I collect for the 3DS and I don't wan't to pay more for a game just because some stupid gbatemp kids can't understand this won't enable piracy.
Just a thought, it's definitely not DoAD, unless Smea is giving false flags. He said it's available on the eShop, but not sure about the Japanese eShop. DoAD is only available on the Jap eShop.
Here is what we know
1. The game is available on this site: https://www.ebgames.com.au/3ds
2. "The game is old and cheap, i got 4 copies for like $30" (7.50 each)
3. "The game is also on eShop but not in all regions"
4. The game is available in Japan.
Just a heads up, the $30 comment won't help with cross-referencing with ebgames.com.au. We pay out the ass for 3DS games. No 3DS game (minus some absolute minigame shit that they're trying to clean out) has ever gone that low.
Problem is there are a lot it could be, could even be Fire Emblem Awakening.
The "old" list here should come in handy.
I guess the list isn't updated that frequently. I'm on the EU eShop, and there's no sign of it there. Plus I think he'd pick a decently selling game, so there'd be stock available. I don't know about you, but that's the first time I've heard of that game.
Ok so I checked it out. It's gotta be DoA. It's saves pics directly to the sd. And only views them in game. So theoretically you can load the exploit to the sd card while the game is running
For anyone curious, our group will be releasing tools needed to generate the xorpads to decrypt ROMs probably within 12 hours.
You'll need a <=4.5 3DS and a DS flashcart to setup up the exploit to run our tool.
