In the case of Grayson and Kotaku, there's a lot of unethical stuff going on. Conflict of interest, and it goes for Patricia Hernadez too.

The fact is, to the sponsors it kind like don't matter if those are false allegations. They are the real deal, and they don't want to be involved in this. Okay, there's been a few anons throughout this whole thing claiming to be bloggers or members of the press that "totally secretly support /v/, but would risk being fired if they publicly denounced the corruption".

On the off-chance that one of those anons was telling the truth, how the fuck could they get fired from a public position like that without the employers stepping in deep PR dog shit?

As long as the person 'blows the whistle' before the boss can shut them up, the doubt will be out there. If the doubt's there, firing them will just make the doubt seem more well-founded, and the press would seem more obviously corrupt. So at worst, the person could face a behind-the-scenes slap on the wrist, after the damage had been done.

Before you mention the Eurogamer incident, remember the shit that firing the writer got them into, and that was without any of this shit as context for it. Kotaku giving in, even slightly, to accusations of corruption has shifted the game, and no one's gonna risk the backlash of firing a writer for speaking out, given the context of this shitstorm.

And if they're just bloggers, then who's gonna fire them? Jontron spoke out against this shit, and his subscriber base is intact, perhaps even increased. Bloggers only have supporters to gain, especially since no one else will bite the bullet.

So, if you are one of these anons or are in the same situation, fucking speak up, because you will not get a better fucking chance. If you are telling the truth, you will either find support and solidarity in your friends and colleagues, or you'll fucking realize how fucking shitty your job really is and take it as a cue to get the fuck out of there.

If you want to work in a better industry, speak the fuck out, because if you don't, we might as well give up now, because this is a PR war until someone can find a genuine smoking gun.
