Describe your dream game, /v/.
then get depressed because it will never happen
Pic always related.
>old-school style FPS mechanics in a similar vein as Quake: run super fast and explosive jumps and shit
>world obviously built around this
>long, expansive, open-world single player.
>light RPG elements (to put it in perspective, I would imagine it being a little more "RPG-ish" than something like Farcry 2)
>colorful, charming, sometimes funny world
>Optional companions with decent AI
>Co-op that lets you stay in the main world
It will never ever happen. Ever.
I once had a dream about a game... which also turned out to be something awesome that would never happen.
all I remember is that it was a futuristic pirate styled MMO, but on a wasteland/desert planet.
It was as if I was playing with some buds, and I was clinging to the rigging of our ship as we're speeding across the sand. We were just dicking around at that point, heading back to town or something. Some motherfucker was playing "Through the Fire and the Flames" on accordian when some pterodactyl things with sand niggers on their back flew at us so we shot down those fuckers.
I remembered seeing a docking station in the distace, it was raised pretty high up on huge concrete pillars, kinda like T-Bone Junction from Borderlands. it was probably where we were headed, for trading or handing in quests/missions/whatever.
Before we even reached the horizon this hefty catamaran came flying over a dune, shooting harpoons and shit at us, so we started catapulting barrels of explosives at them.
out captain must have been retarded or busy shooting at the people on the catamaran, because it wasn't long before we sailed straight into a huge-ass sand whirlpool and got our ship destroyed.
Shame it will never exist, futuristic desert wastelands are just magical
A space game where you control a battleship or destroyer and the entire thing is more like naval combat instead of dogfighting (that means: the smallest ship is still akin to a torpedo-boat).
Everything is on a 1:1 scale, all objects follow the laws of newton, 'realistic' weapons instead of Star Wars pewpew-laserbolts.
Special weapons (high-powered laserbeams) can engage enemies at distances of up to half a light second or even further (and indeed the laserbeam would take that time to reach the target)... Did I mention your sensors also only work at the 'speed of light', meaning if an object is 300.000 km away, the radar signal has a delay of 1 second.
Realistic tracking of damage, crew management, resource management (fuel, ammo, heat, air etc.).
Along those lines.
It's a comic made by a guy called Junji Ito. He's basically the Manga-version of Lovecraft when it comes to fucked up shit going down.
That particular story is about an attentionwhoring bodybuilder who lives next to a graveyard and he is obsessed with turning the gravestones so they all face his apartment cause he 'likes the attention the dead give him'.
Then it starst to get weird.
The problem is that realistic space combat would be incredibly dull.
>read Ito's shit a while back
>just now noticed the figure in the top right of that picture
The fuck is it? It wasn't mentioned in the story at all.
X-Com 1 and 2 for DOS and Playstation.
With OpenXcom I'm living the dream.
Pic related. This is how you die.
Sometimes when I can't sleep I imagine a great game that can pretty much be summed up by that name
I think I'll write out what I want from it at some point but I still need to get a clearer vision of how the individual mechanics would work.
Well, the thing is, I want to engage an enemy in the upper atmosphere of a gas giant and watch him burn up as he goes down.
I want to do completely batshit insane orbital maneuvers in order to get into good positions to fight my enemy.
I want to do these things in a 3D game.
Currently, my big hope is for Elite Dangerous to give me what I crave but I have no clue how their combat works (seems too dogfighty for this... but I'll take what I can get...)
>you will never play attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion
>you will never watch c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate
>The problem is that realistic space combat would be incredibly dull.
If I didn't doubt that, it wouldn't be my dream game.
I just want a realistic space-sim with battleships duking it out at incredibly scale.
To be honest, I would love to see how orbital maneuvers would influence how combat works.
>It wasn't mentioned in the story at all.
Did you even read the story?
Its the MCs neighbor who works out. The reason the graves shift towards his house every night is because the bodybuilding neighbor wants to show off his muscles to the dead. It's literall what the entire story is about. You literally, literally can't miss it, unless you only read the first and last page.
It is a gravestone.
This guy gets it.
Space exploration game where you explore alien planets with emphasis on surviving in different conditions, like different types of atmospheres, amount of radiation and gravity, storms and shit like that.
I've had this idea for an Escape! style mission. Your character and a female companion are captured and imprisoned. You are locked in separate cells and you are forced to listen to the brutal violation of said companion. So you must find a way to break out, but if you try to immediately rescue your friend you will be cut down by overwhelming numbers of powerful foes. Forcing you to leave her to her fate so you can find another way. No in game hints or pop ups tell you this, you just gotta learn the hard way. Sneaking past guards bragging about and waiting for their turn with your friend. No arbitrary failures either, if you get caught, you either die or everyone is on high alert until you kill them all. bonus: well liked voice actor and strong character development for you to format an attachment to female companion. Always cracking jokes and general smartassery. After you rescue her, she will never speak again
Army men FPS
Gameplay similar to Starwars battlefront and C&C Renegade with up to 300 NPC's running around on the map at one time.
Battles take place in everyday locations at the small scale.
If your team has control of certain parts of the map will give your team certain bonuses having toybox will increase the number of units your team can field or having control of a power outlet will decrease production/respawn time., they will get access to strange super weapons. Controlling the sandpit and the grill in the back yard will allow access to lasers and light based heat rays or if your team has access to a power outlet and the electricians toolbox, your team can field tesla tanks and other electric weapons..
Things /v/ used to dream about:
>open world survival
>lots of games featuring little girls
>a dungeon keeper sequel
Just wanted you to know that whatever you write in this thread WILL happen in a disfigured way and you will hate it, sort of like those genies or demons that fulfill wishes in the worst way possible.
>Dragon's Dogma at constant 60fps
>proper 1080p and high res textures
>maybe even mods
cum on capcom do it already
Realistic, open world, nonlinear, single player first person game set in the 1500s-1600s. You start out as a total wildcard in a random city on the (massive) map, and through alliances, choices, and playing your cards right you go from being a nobody peasant to the single most influential person in history.
>Mass Effect 1 or KotOR combat system but more refined
>Silent protag, lots of options for dialogue
>Only one possible romance, optional
>Story in fantasy setting, story revolves around social/political issues within one small country
>No end of the world, edginess, dragons or any of that shit
>No elves, dwarves or any of that
>Themes deal with government and developing modern technology's effect on a fantasy world
I'm picturing Dragon Age/Persona/Witcher/Game of Thrones/Final Fantasy Tactics
STALKER + Metro, travel across a ravaged land on and beneath the surface, Metro's more carefully crafted animations and narrative plus STALKERs true roam and dangerous, random situations.
Basically it's three power rangers-like characters who go to the center of the earth after a nuclear cataclysm destroyed the surface and they must survive against dinosaurs but also against the black ranger who know their secret. Combat is a mix between Ninja gaiden and DMC. Each ranger have a dedicated melee and ranged weapon. The important part is that the game has a very high amount of gore, every finish move against the enemies is the equivalent of a Fatality in terms of gore level. The game doesn't take itself too seriously.
FFTA-like RPG with extra explorable paths/sidequests for 2-3 playthroughs max
NG+ with cheat options that's only unlockable if you beat the game on Hard
Playing the game on Hard difficulty makes the game have you rely more on intelligence than RNG, Easy is vice versa but the RNG is curved to be much more in your favor
the AI's intelligence stays the same regardless of difficulty
Early game is simple, can be beaten with buttonmashing the first few fights save a couple gimmicky enemies and defense>offense, early-game DDs fucking suck but are considered an investment
Mid-game teaches you about strategizing your units and balances out defense and offensive capabilites of your units, units that you've rolled with since early game shine here stat wise
End-game is a full on think-first act-later strategy game because by then the game scales hard torwards offense, making your units get hurt much easier but making them all deal more damage,
early-game damage dealers are king provided they hit first
cheeky players can game/cheese the system with specific tactics, but every time they do this the final boss gets exponentially stronger
the final boss fight is determined by the difficulty chosen by the player, and by what the player has had the most trouble with enemy wise, easy is easy and hard is what the player's previously had trouble with during their playthrough of the game
If the AI can't decide on what the player has trouble with, it will decide to have them fight the CHEESE SQUAD aka "why the fuck do they auto revive and oneshot my party members?"
You play as a rich upper class housewife MILF with a passion for horse racing who employs cute lolis from the nearest villages to race.
Your horses win frequently and everyone wants to know your secret for success, and you must try to keep it safe whilst winning enough races to justify the expenses to your rich aristocrat husband.
This is an erotic horse race management simulator, you can use your imagination to fill in the rest.
That's what happened to me.
I've always wanted to have an open world game with Mechs.
Where Mechs and the humans have fighting capabilities.
Now I have 'X' on the WiiU, and I just don't know anymore...
A mixture of Nier, Berserk and Groundhog Day.
Okay, fuck, hear me. I must first describe the setting and story. The character wakes up in the woods and remembers that he died. He died a lot. And he always gets a new life at the same day, undergoing the same events all the time and at the end, faces death. The thing is, the world around his little mountain village gets overrum by some demon shit, killing and raping everything that moves. He knows exactly how the following events will play out. He, and so the player, makes decisions in this crisis but when you have to choose what to do, short flashbacks will tell you what will fail and why, but basically in some way anything fails. You got the setting? Everything sucks and the character suffers through all those losses and deaths multiple times. A climax should be a final attack of the demons on the village but you can't save everyone, only a handfull. The remaining will go to the center of the demon realm for a glorious final stand which only leads to their death.
But there is some hope! Between those events you have some free time in which you can explore the world. Let's say you find a village whose inhabitants face the same problems and you help them. In turn, they send some of their men to your village to defend it. And suddenly you could save more lives! Your character is more surprised then anything but he now believes he can actually change things to something better. To get the best ending in this game you have to make several playthrough, but which each you can explore the map more, get more allies, better weapons, find ressources for your village etc.
Next is about the fighting system.
It's a stealth game (imagine Splinter Cell). Playing as an undercover guard, you help the spy so he can infiltrate facilities. But the spy is bad and very goofy, he makes ton of noise, frequently walk in spotlights, you have to cover his ass but also stay in your role as a guard to not lose your job.
Balanced Dark Souls with a ton of variety and excellent netcode. The strong/heavy attacks of weapons actually chain together into reasonable special attacks.
Three fucking hits with a katana doesn't kill you.
Magic doesn't exist.
Invaders can heal as well.
It would be so good.
>STALKER with Metro's engine
is what you're asking for?
Dragon's Dogma 2 on pc
Larger continent that takes in game weeks to travel across on a mount.
More towns and small villages.
Hang glider to quickly get off cliffs or you can glide to the nearest village.
New grappler class
New beastmaster class that takes control of monsters and can mount them
Online mission where you and an army of other players try to get rid of an army of monsters that have taken over the land of the first game. You have to escort survivors to a boat where they'll be taken back to the single player continent.
This will never happen
Here kinda comes the beserk part.
Your character is not only depressed, but he's fucking angry about this bullshit. He fights with some big ass sword and dismembers the demons. One button for vertical, one for horizontal attacks. You perform combos while you play some rythm game. Yes, I'm serious. After an attack you have a timeframe at which point you can chain another attack to perform a combo. When you chain multiple attacks together, the timeframe gets smaller, but your character also gets faster and does more damage. The better you play, the more the character goes into berserker-mode.
Abou the enemies I think they should be numerous and fast, Zerg-like monsters you destroy in droves, between them big ass huge monsters which you really have to respect. The whole aspect of fighting should be about attacking to not get attacked, with limited evasion and blocking.
And the last one.
One thing I find important: The whole dying around you and all the bad shit that's happening should not be executed through lengthy cutescenes, but happening on the screen, while you are playing. This is because the player should have the feeling that he could have done something about this if he would
git gud.Like on the final attack on the village you can tell your men to let you defend one point all alone and can actually do this. This shit which is happening on the screen is not so much scripted.
This would probably need some good writers. The player must care about the world and his characters and the feels of the hero must be protrait understandable. The relieve of the hero when he made a progress should also a relieve for the player.
I think I'm done. Now I got it out of my head.
Not that guy
Gameplay is shit. I don't want a shitty mech rpg. I want to feel like I'm piloting a mech so it needs to be an action game pretty much. I have to feel the weight of my mech and feel powerful or fast and crazy
THERE NEED TO BE MORE DEEP SEA GAMES
also this ported to consoles/PC as a deluxe edition with the vanilla game+an adventure mode and bonus content like extra boss battles or bonus seas or something
fuck, why can't game devs
seathe potential for making games about the open ocean?
Fuck I don't know man. I forgot the name of the game and that I even had these gifs.
Attack on Titan game that's fast, fun and doesn't suck.
I'll make a note so I don't forget it.
Open world party based anime action RPG.
You create your party like you would at DW3 Ruida's Tavern and there's even a class change service later on. Each party member has a bunch of personality traits you can attach to them and appearance customization is massive as fuck. Combat's like Dragon's Dogma but more spectacular. You can fug/become superbros with party members in relationships that involve doing quests related to them that are based on the traits you applied to them at creation, and also some special non-party NPCs. The open world isn't just some shitty baby shit, and is actually full of stuff to find and places to explore. There's a ton of different biomes and the world is big as fuck, villages/cities are no less than a full 24 hour day's travel apart. It's a lootfest, there's tons and tons of builds, and you can co-op with up to 3 other people, the remainder filled with your NPC party members. Also the AI is like Dragon's Dogma, and they learn stuff as the game goes on.
And everything is perfect.
That's my dream game.
>A game like yume nikki, but with a bigger focus on exploration and solving puzzles
>Pixel lighting and fluid animations
>Somewhat open-world setting, who then goes into freakier, unknown places who distort reality
>Shit-tons of random events that affect the game world/time/or weather, to keep things fresh and tense.
>Multiple endings and secrets to discover
I've been thinking about this game for over one year now. I've done nothing about it. Kill me.
>tfw you will never
be lost in time
in the rain
Pic related. I wrote it out on a boat ride.
*adjusts contrarian hat*
>You will never eat at a outdoor noodlebar in dystopian LA
>You will never run off with a perfect engineered waifu
>plays before the events of the manga
>the game's mood is completely based on the first season
>you start out as a shinigami trainee in the academy
>during the academy phase of the game you learn how to play and slightly level up your stats
>depending on how well you perform and on what fighting style you use most you get send into one of the divisions
>e.g. you perform well with swordfighting and nothing else, you go to the 11th. You perform excellent everywhere you go 1th division
>you can customize your options for sword-fighting, kido and for movement
>after working in your division you will unlock a customize-able shikai and much later bankai
>you can select what forms, elements and effects your sword gets from a selection based on how you played so far
>e.g. you just sword everything to death pure physical, you get a shikai that's just a bigger weapon with much more damage
>you use fire based skill and ranged attacks in general, your sword can change into a fire cannon of sorts
>various places can be visited like all of soul society, towns in the human world and mexico
>the main story is mostly about the divisions dicking each other out and stronger growing hollows attacking from hueco mundo
>shit is pretty much completely gameplay focused so no story details
Same shit could be done with a Naruto prequel game, everything is in the tone of up to the zabusa arc.
Ninja ranks actually mean shit, ninja missions focus on retrieving info and sometimes assassination and so on.
I've been thinking of doing a game
>For some reason humanity never developed weapons to their current state
>Instead we got simple weapons like just a long rod with a hammer and trigger for a single big bullet primarly used for hunting
>For some reason there's a war
>It's fought using this homemade looking weapons
>Almost every action with the weapon has a specific key bound or action
>For example, press K to release the mag, K again to throw it away or L to save it in one of your pouches, 1 2 or 3 to select which pouch to save it to, J to retrieve a mag, 1 2 or 3 to select which pouch to retrieve it from, K to put it in weapon, P O P to bolt next round
>Absolutely no HUD, it's up to you to remember how many bullets each mag still holds
>You can pick up a mag from a dead enemy and save it in one of your pouches or retrieve the bullets from the mag and fill one of yours.
>Very limited ammo, you constantly have to resort to meleeing.
I've been hating them before it was cool. Jokes aside, my friend recommended I played them since he's obsessed with the first four. This was before Skyrim. I just didn't like them.
I call it "Dark Continent"
Stalker COP mechanics
Stalker CS faction system
Metro 2033 (not last light) grafix
set in rhodesia in the 70s, with 70s style soundtracks (not as 'ambient', but like when you're doing the military campaigns, the technical radios will be playing the eagles or queen or something, ambient will be like drums or something)
open world game; serve various warlords/factions
also there's magical/adventure movie shit going on too; you can go on an expedition with some british gentlemen to find a lost city of gold, fight skinwalkers, get a voodoo witchdoctor squadmate who actually casts magic and shit at enemies, etc...
Basically there will be a few campaigns; obviously the central one is siding with and helping elevate a warlord of your choice to "president" (or becoming kind of rhodesia yourself as a special ending), once done with that you will get plenty of money and the cooperation of most military forces (there will still be rebels), at which point you can get into the whole adventure/magical side of the game; as many of those functions will be heavily cash gated (financing expeditions) but doable if you really really want to with grinding sidequests and looting early on but will confer end-game tier benefits (maybe finding certain special loots at the end of a trapped dungeon can be traded on the black market for a arms dealer contact who can supply you with state of the art vehicles which far surpass anything you can find or hijack normally) and options (e.g. becoming 'king' yourself requires getting the shaman sidekick maybe)
ultimately, at the conclusion of all main storylines there will be like some skyrim style fetch quests to just screw around; rebel encampments to raze, temples filled with hidden treasure, rare animals to hunt etc...
Man, people think it's creepy, but just imagine having this outside your window. Spread curtains open, lube up and masturbate your hardest why these cold stone faces are looking at you, unable to look away, scared and ashamed, as you wank days away to the worst porn imaginable. Ahh, Ito, knows how to live the dream
Medieval total Emblem of Wonders: Dungeon Fortress
I made 30+pages designing it but I can't program for shit
A fighting game where tiers are almost PERFECTLY Balanced.
I love Fighting games, and the fighting in the game I spend most hours my main was nerfed until being 6 feet under. I still play with her but even with some buffs she got in a new release everyone still outclasses her. The next patch is going to be decent because almost everything else is going to be greatly nerfed.
No one should be allowed to suffer this shit.
Did any of you ever write down your favorite dream game ideas into game design documents? Here's a template and some explanation.
Basically if you want your dream game to be more then an idea this is the first thing you will need.
Next you will need people to work on that shit which is much MUCH harder to get but you still need that document first anyhow so try to write one
>80s synth-wave music
>over the top mxc-esque announcers
>american gladiator style competiton/obstacles
It would be glorious
The gameplay is in the controls where i've imagined a way where you swing the swords freely wit the d-pad somewhat like metal gear solid 2's katana. To have more options than swinging in 4 directions i'd imagine having buttons control different types or arces of swings or something like that.
The story itself would be like a love traingle between 3 people at its core but the emphasis would be on the characters having more than simplistic personalities like "the strong, funny, eccentric or depressing character" The characters would have varying levels of all emotions, insecurities, and unpredictability. They'd make mistakes that made no sense or surprise you by doing things outside of their norm sometimes. The villians would be doing what they consider right rather then being purely malicious. The conflict in the story would come primarily from human sources rather than an evil empire or a dragon. All like some real god damn people.
To act as an interesting contrast i imagined the southern half of the map being a giant forest full of alien inhuman monsters living in very bizarre, and to humans, horrifying existences. Like ecosystems that are absolutely nothing like normal, think like a more extreme version of those terrifying fish at the bottom of the ocean where it's pitch black. I think it'd be an interesting dynamic to have a very human story and dynamic and just outside of it all is this incomprehensible world.
>Mount & Blade + Total War
>Made by Taleworlds & Platinum Games
I want to see a rogue-like MMO set in Rapture.
The game starts in a randomly generated part of the ocean floor with a set amount of Adam, energy, and materials with which to build Rapture. Players are randomly generated and assigned crafting professions. For instance, engineers build the infrastructure of Rapture while scientists can research new uses of Adam.
From there, it's a free-for-all. Permadeath and friendly fire would be a fact of life.
I've played MMO's a lot, and the biggest weaknesses I've seen is that developers put too much into the writing. It's not a good idea. Players will always eat through it before they can make new material. Second, developers assume players aren't assholes. They are. That's why I want betrayal and trust to be a large part of the game. You can't get anything done alone, but the guys helping you can always kill you at any second. It's stupid to go against the flow by trying to police behavior. Instead, the effort should be in making it a part of the game.
I want to see a game where everyone starts in their own cold bathyspheres with dreams of conquest leading to a chaotic, glowing city rising from the ocean floor, then slowly falling to decay as ever decreasing resources cause spheres to slowly be abandoned to the cold darkness of the ocean. Then, it would start again.
My dream game is really unrealistic and wouldn't even be possible until we have futuristic technology.
Basically it would be a VR game that simulates reality almost exactly. You go to school or work, you make friends with life-like people, whatever. But, you also have magic. No one else has magic, just you. So you can go around fucking everything up and taking over the world, or use it subtly to shift your surroundings how you want. People react to your magic exactly how they would in real life.
>kida like Mount & Blade but more complex and with more costumization
>classical music playing in the backgroud
>whole universe is fleshed out, you can read books, buy music on the space i-tunes or watch space TV
>game is a sandbox, mainly with a fech-quest type of missions but also a lot of decently writen open ended missions
>you can research stuff on your own
>trade that will impac whole game world(if you sell a lot of cargo ships to Terran goverment independed cargo pilots will be bitching that there is not a lot of work for them, etc.)
>travell through entire milky way
>you can research your way into another galaxie and establisch first trade routes with civilizations enchabiting them
I planned out an entire game trilogy and a prequel spinoff. It's third-person sandbox series with a setting kind of like Dishonored, but with more of a focus on magic. It's about a brother and sister who are necromancers trying to prevent the god of death from being released from god prison so he can kill the others gods and then there's a twist regarding his motives/goal. That's the big picture, anyway. I even made a list of all the boss fights that would be in the series. Now I'm trying to think of who the ideal voice actors would be.
>Mfw we will never get a open city Blade Runner RPG
A notrium type of "you crashed on an alien planet" game, but in first person and with a heavy focus on exploration, crafting and tactics. You can create weapons, such as "pipes+gas+lighter+scrapmetal+ducttape=flamethrower" or "light diode+battery+drill+wires+focussor=laser gun" or "longstick+string=bow" You and maybe a friend idk have to survive. To win, there are several different endings, such as "hijack a ship", "fix your old ship", "become king of the alien hive" and so on. At the start you can choose to play as a human, one of a selection of different aliens, and one of a selection of different androids, all with different stats and stuff. Androids can do advanced tech stuff and go without food, but need energy, some aliens have natural abilities like claws and acid, but need more food, or can't use certain items. Some races work more for the shooter aspect, some work more for a stealthy predator aspect
a true successor to Mechwarrior 4.
a new mech assault would also be nice
it doesn't have to be open world, just another game on fox would be great.
>You play a man who goes by himself into and onto enemy ships via jetpack
>You have limited oxygen and fuel for the jetpack, forcing you to use it sparingly
>Realistic physics for the space sections, where there is no gravity and even the slightest push will send you off
>You must disable enemy ships by yourself by climbing around their hulls, damaging the external systems and guns, and even boarding them and stealthily cutting down the crew
>Each mission is nonlinear and open-ended, letting you take whatever path you want through the level
>It has an RPG system similar to Deus Ex, where you aren't any good at anything until you've put skill points into those skills
>Each weapon and piece of gear you carry has weight, slowing you down on both spaceships and in space
>Each ship is fully modeled, both internally and externally, and is also procedurally generated, making each ship new compared to others you've taken down
>There are many ways to achieve the goal of taking down a ship, from cutting the oxygen to blowing up the engine to killing everyone on the bridge, sealing it off, and then taking control of the entire ship to stealing a small fighter and ripping the ship's armor to shreds
>Battles slowly get larger and larger, until by the end, you alone have to take down massive cruisers by yourself
>Soundtrack consists of massive, spacey, ambient tracks similar to: http://youtu.be/xmADpBu_ZCA?t=11m21s
>Multiplayer consists of hundreds of players duking it out with up to 20 large cruisers per team, with captains, gunners, saboteurs, pilots and other roles
I would play this and only this for years and years to come.
Imagine pic related, but you are a lone man in the center of all that.
Zombie game difficulty is based on how infection spreads (obviously things like airborne are harder to deal with than transfers in blood etc) basic survival things are needed food, water etc there will be kind of like a old fallout style perk system on start up example run faster is +1 point so to balance you might take a phobia like claustrophobia -1 making you breath fast and heart rates go up making you more detectable make even a little shaky causing accuracy to fall (not in numbers like a % but in gun sway or general overswings in melee etc) non zombie npcs wont be fucking clear intention scripted little shits example maybe finding a bandit camp will be clear vs finding a random npc who will act good nature ed but will steal your supplies when you go to sleep or maybe try to fuck you over some will be honest good npcs though it will be up to you to find things to clue you in maybe look through his shit while he sleeps find a journal that says hes killed people some will be in cold blood some because he had to or maybe he has poisons just little hints you need to kind of sherlock holmes and decide if their trust worthy a kind of crafting system thats interesting and perhaps a means of building as well you could start weeks after the infection or before it happens (some people like to see how it unfolds some like to just jump in why cant devs get this right fuck) zombies evolve (stronger can break baracades and some faster can out run you maybe late late game both start to occur perhaps even later some jump and/or fly) and multiplayer of some caliber with in game voice chat
sorry for shit grammar and kill me because it will never be done in my lifetime
I just want a God Hand style game where you play as Tifa.
Okay, so, this idea is going to be a little bit more extre/m/e niche, but does anyone remember MS Saga?
Yeah, I want a sequel to that.
>Open World Franken-Gundam RPG
>Turn Based or whatever, something JRPG-ish
>Minute customization of each part
>updated all the way up to include suits from Recongista in G
>maybe even no chibi?
I don't care how /m/ or stupid the idea is, I want it!
Spice & Wolf, the game.
Travel a early-renaissance era world, trading across a patchwork continent of petty kingdoms and city-states, earning your living as a peddler (at least to start). Includes a very fleshed-out economy, including different currencies with fluctuating exchange rates, current events having effects on market prices, other merchants that may act against you, particularly if your cargo is revealed as high-value, etc.
Late game involves buying property and building a trade empire, all as larger companies try to stamp you out through sabotage and subterfuge.
also forced first person forgot that part and when i say basic survival to elaborate more food, water, sleep (fatigue parred with this in some way), maybe some form of sanity if it could be done right i like the idea of some people going crazy and seeing shit maybe even trying to kill themselves and you having to do shit to try and prevent it also on that note you should have the option to kill yourself for immersion purposes imagine it you and your buddy are running from a horde he falls from fatigue you hide in a closet and watch him get torn the fuck up your person is claustrophobic they start looking your direction you start shaking making noise bumping into shit a screech of pure fucking terror alerts you to their intention you put the last bullet you have into chamber and opt out
>tfw it will never happen
I'm probably one of the few people that would genuinely enjoy this but it's kind of a dead part of the market.
It's a 2.5D fps that looks and plays similar to Duke3d, Blood and shadow warrior but the maps are much more open and take greater advantage of modern technology but in door areas of maps would be similar to classic lay outs and designs. Art wise i could see it as either anime or western classic. Its maps and battles would be kind of divided up like borderlands games but their main map focus would be on inner city areas that would invite some john woo type shit of wall jumping action. It would have some basic RPG elements like what you can get out of farcry 3 or blood dragon and the game would be 100% playable without the need to mess with stats if you decided to. Player customization would be a thing though base game content would have to be limited but it could be expanded upon by letting people mod in their own armor and hair designs that could be shared between one another but the player would have to wear the armor as purely an aesthetic item while in game armors would still be where all the stats come from.
It would be open to mods and total conversions with the use of some straight forward easy to use tools. Never refined the idea in my head i just know the basic elements of what i want. Gameplay would be top priority but it would be told probably through comic panels like max payne with probably no voice acting.
Cyberpunk cop game
Enough simulation to be immersive, but not so much it becomes a bore to play.
Open World Survival Horror game. First person, so that the area behind you is always a constant fear, and so that everything feels like it's in your face. It's a giant city, but it seems all normal human life except for you has disappeared.
The monsters are designed by Junji Ito. Combat is an option, but you want to avoid it at all times, as it's more of a desperate fight for your life and it's near impossible to come out unscathed. If you need supplies, you need to explore random buildings.
Some buildings have a few enemies in them. Some are empty. Some are "haunted" and make you go through a P.T.-like (but not as difficult) puzzle to escape. You are never guaranteed any supplies.
All the important plot areas have their own story and monsters that fit into the main theme. Like, the hospital is full of crazy mutated doctors and patients that were horribly experimented on.
Would you play this game?
Has Ito written something with a better ending than Uzumaki? That's the only one that really has any closure.
FUCK YOU endings are good in small amounts, but when almost of them are that, it gets kinda old.
As long as the vertical aspect would be there I'd like one too. Planning out the lower and upper levels of the city, deciding whether you use the space down at the foundations for loads of cheap apartments at the risk of a higher crime and disease rate, etc.
There's a few sites that have translated Ito's stories. Just use Google or Startpage.
-plays exactly like kotor 2 &kotor 1.
-Great refined soundtrack.
-not much is changed, just improved.
-ignores TOR story.
-same menus, similar loading screens.
duke nukem sequel
-plays like 3d
-lots of guns, can carry all of them.
-just a fucking action old school fps.
ja2 with the newest 113 mod (customized modular vests n shit) but in realtimewithpause, in 3d with great graphics, proceduraly generated maps and missions(not some half assed shit, done properly) and with the endgoal of world domination. bascially, start as a single merc, then end up being a toptier pmc with enough troops to fuck over entire countries.
it will never happen.
but at least we have this:
VR MMO with almost free-form skills. Actions that do not fit into any set skills but are done statistically enough will be assigned a new skill eventually.
For instance, you chop a tree, 999... players before you have also done a similar action, everyone who now attempts to chop a tree discovers woodcutting with its own improvements over the standard action.
There'd have to be a dedicated wiki for skills only, which is always out-of-date, and some mundane unpopular action might become a skill one day that you can level and improve.
Some faggots might use both fire and ice as a magician, one day discover Frostfire. Edgy kids who wield swords backwards one day discover it's a thing. Keep using alchemy to make explosives, alchemist might find he has future as an explosive expert.
An honestly free MMO. Maybe even semi virtual with power of Oculus, not even SAO LEL DIVE TECHNOLOGY and improbable as fuck game design, but something that can be free and open enough that it could constitute for world, leveling is actually hard and there is still possibility with player skill that 90 can compete against 100 etc.
I dunno. I became understand "theme park" so well while old MMO's could do that WORLD aspect somewhat right.
i...ok, but maybe one day someone will do it right
like what the fuck happened with fortzombie? those guys made one of the best space games, sots and yet they managed to fuck the zombie game up so hard... they only had to fix the bugs and make it moddable, and they would have had a fuckin diamond mine under their asses.
Its like there is someone who doesnt want to have good games and pays off devs to keep games shit.
Where's my open world Paper Mario game by Obsidian? My Persona-style Mother game by Atlus? My Starfox character action game by Platinum? My Metroid game by KojiPro? My Zelda action RPG by Level-5? My Kirby game by
Basically I want Nintendo to continue this Hyrule Warriors and Pokken trend of lending out their IPs for a collaborative game in the style of those studios.
o k so i came up with a great videogame idea earlier and its called warbound its like starbound what instead of being shit and about exploring stars that are all the same you drop in on wars and can pick a side or just be a fucking asshole to both sides X but this isn't really viable early on because you have shit skills and equipment but it's possible if you're just that good and it's in 3d kinda like warband but each planet is different so the wars can range from medieval warfare to napoleonic style battles to early 20th century warfare to shitty modern garbage to some weird ass alien shit with goo guns and alien-dick shaped spears and you can go to normal and peaceful places and cause wars later on when your speech and espionage skills are high enough and profit from the wars by selling to both sides all the arms and supplies that you've gotten through participating in earlier wars and raiding enemy armories and supply lines and it's kinda like original xcom (i havent played the new reboot xcom so im no sure how it works in that) and you can hire people and become a pmc if you want and can even conquer land and try to be a country like warband kinda and ther's like frederick the great and shit
an openworld cyberpunk cop game with a ghost in the shell feel atmosphere. hnnnng
Yeah, I've seen Jacob's Ladder, and I actually loved it. But I mean, any movie that's stressful enough without the use of too many jumpscares, you know ? It doesn't have to be surreal.
A game with a wide variety of different katanas, character with long spiky hair, and loud awesome kick ass heavy fucking metal playing in the back.
Man I just want more games like Yume Nikki that that make it feel like I'm playing vidya for the first time again.
I wish there was a game that was kinda like M&B where you start as Genghis Xbox and all unite the Turkic-Mongols M&B style. Then when you unite everybody it gets something like a Total War's campaign to conquer the rest of Asia. Before battles you deploy people and set up like in Total War. You can play it as an RTS or switch to a M&B style and play as the general. Then once your empire gets sufficiently big the overworld changes to a Europa-y map where you manage your provinces and stuff while raising armies like Europa. Armies without special generals fight with Europa mechanics. The main armies which you can designate by giving Generals to can fight in the Europa or the Total Warband style.
basically a sandbox mmo with combat a mix of warband/darksouls and magic sort of like dark messiah/arx fatalis
full loot/local banking/player housing and cities and maybe some quests similar to runescape
pretty generic idea but I want a good mmo dammit
Berserk Videogame made by CD Projekt based on the Black Swordsman era after the Eclipse.
You free roam around towns and cities hunting and rooting out apostles and killing other demonic beings like trolls.
It has a fatigue mechanic where you need sleep to function fully, but when you are out in the wilderness it's hard to sleep without the sacrificial brand attracting demons.
It also has a detailed wound system requiring herbs, bandages, and Pucks healing dust to recover from wounds, and you can't fight at full effectiveness if wounded.
You can purchase miscellaneous items such as throwing knives, daggers, different crossbow ammunition, different cannon shot and bombs to help fight the apostles.
Some would require you to straddle them or climb them SotC style, and find their weak spot. Snake Apostle will be able to transform and require a cannon shot in a vulnerable area, Rosine will attempt to spear you and lift you into the air, etc.
A Musou with the gameplay level of Basara 4, but with pic related characters.
>reading these junji ito works right before going to bed
3D first person martial arts focused game set in an alternate 90's midwest america where rival gyms/dojangs/dojos/schools pulling up in SUV's and people in gis with "Tall Oak JuJitsu" patches or sweat pants and "Park St. MMA" T shirts showing down like gangsters isn't grounds to call the cops, but maybe attract a crowd.
So like anime, in how the game takes place in a version of the real world where the stuff the characters do isn't weird.
It would have lots of flashy caricatures of real styles like Jeet Kune Do, Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kown Do, Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, etc.
So a story based 3D first person fighting game with slightly exaggerated versions of real martial arts, but no dragon-ball Z shit.
A horror game with this artstyle.
Imagine going on a routine theft of a small vessel
>Crew hung up on the ceilings
>Dat moment when you see last crew member blow his brains out infront of you
>Trying to piece together whats happened
>All electricity shuts down, including your way of escape
anything that makes me feel sad or engage emotionaly with the character
i dont feel sad irl and the only movie that made me sad was A.I. its a very good feeling
games that made me feel sad or care about the main character?
>The Shadow of the Colossus
>Metal Gear Solid 3
if the gameplay part includes minimalistic exploration and allow me to decide where i want to go then they can have my money
Open world multiplayer game based on Japanese school yard gang rivalry. Schools against each other, gang hang outs, alleyway street fighting/brawls, picking up stick ball bats, chains, and running from police.
I don't know. I actually practice (and am bad at) MMA and Judo, and I feel like a lot of the emotional impact of going toe to toe with someone hand to hand is lost in third person.
Most martial arts games are about wading chest deep through hordes of mooks, but I was imagining something a little more grounded in small brawls or 1 on 1.
Make the hand to hand based off of Japanese pro wrestling.
Have shit get steadily more serious as things escalate from schoolyard fist fights to years later, the MC is in the yakuza gunning down drug dealers.
Deleting junji ito while there are thread discussing feminist shit and vivian shit, thanks janitor for being faggots
>Musical bralwer in the style of Godhand/Mad World with a scoring/XP system
>World is normal most of the time, music is just a bare beat/melody/rhythm at first
>Attacking enemies allows you to open them up for stuns or kills. Killing gives you more points while stunning allows you to do a special move that defeats them and leaves a glowing orb.
>Each orb adds a multiplier to your score while at the same time animating the world and adding to the music. The orbs slowly burn out so you have to press the attack to keep your multiplier building.
>At no multiplier the world is normal and the music barebones. At max multiplier the world is pulsing to the music (which is now much more alive), environmental kills become active, weapons are dropped, areas open up, etc.
>3 main classes centering around metal, rap/hiphop, and classically-inspired music.
>Co-op has a higher multiplier limit but is otherwise the same as single player. Versus has two styles competing for points and orbs while trying to take each other out. As each player gets more orbs their style appears in the music. This results in mash-ups between two different songstyles as the two teams battle for points and orb control.
>Autism level realistic strategy game
But you got dwarf fortress...
>with a UI that's actually meant for humans and doesn't require pointlessly tedious micromanagement
Forget about it
>Getting mad at your off topic garbage being disposed of
Shut up. If Vivian James threads and Zoe Quinn threads are unacceptable for being not vidya, then you can't have your precious Ito and Deep Sea shit.
A game about being an alien and studying the weirdest shit that humans do.
You don't get to kill humans, just study them, abduct them and try to understand them.
You get to fight and kill FBI agents and such, though.
The game should really make you feel like an alien, making fun of all the dumb shit that humans do and our society finds natural.
My dream game is fairly simple, really.
Devil May Cry-style gameplay, but with custom character creation and ARPG mechanics.
I want to go cuhrazy and lootwhore at the same time, and have my current style rating (or equivalent measure of play quality) possibly contribute to loot quality.
