Mario Kart 8 has the same amount of tracks as most previous Mario Kart games, as well as about the same amount of racers. Sure, the Battle Mode is gone, but still, I'd say Mario Kart 8 was a finished product.

There was a time when DLC was actually something that was actually meant to enhance the value of the game which you purchased. It's only been since the last generation or so did companies decide to cut games into pieces and call it "DLC."

These days, ANYTHING that has any sort of DLC is vilified on /v/. So much so that a lot of people have forgotten that there was actually a meaningful purpose for it a long time ago, and it involved extending the life of a game and enhancing it's value.
