No. Lately there are some games coming out I'm interestet in. I do however regret buying a 3DS. I was interested in a couple of games, played them and never touched it since I've beat all of them.
my weeb machine, I use it more than my pc/ps3/ps4/xbone
Nope, love it.
It got tons of games that I like and I even have a decent backlog. Especially considering all the nice games that are coming out this fall/winter.
I enjoyed opening my vita. and replacing broken parts
the games are cool I guess
Luckily not at all. I was moving countries and given the problems of region locking and having to import games my Wii U was gonna give me I sold it not too long after purchasing and made back my initial investment, which I then spent on a Vita. It's been a lot of fun and is an absolute life saver with all the flying I have to do, currently I'm playing Hollow Fragment which seems to be a surprisingly well realised anime game.
>tfw only games I have is P4G and PS1 port for the first Silent Hill.
what the fuck do I play now
And I'm gonna regret it even less next Tuesday!
Greetings friends, the following is a curated list of what you should own as a Vita owner (disregarding shovelware weeb-bait,) and some titles to look forward to:
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Persona 4 Golden
Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited
Toukiden: The Age of Demons
Ys: Memories of Celceta
Tales of Hearts R
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
Demon Gaze 2
Holy shit I did not know the Vita got this , thanks anons
Only game that interests me is Dragon's Crown and I already have that on my PS3
I'm not disappointed, but I'm still waiting for a few games to really make me glad I got it.
Tearaway was probably one of my favourite games of last year, but that's only one game, the rest I played are ports.
UK fag here waiting for Netflix. Why the heck is it taking so long jesus christ,
Nope, I bought it ages ago planning to play it on the train when I got a full time job. Finally got a real job and playing it on the train is great and nobody really cares that you're exposing your power levels with it.
I don't regret anything, the vita introduced me to my waifu
The only thing I regret is how much I paid for my 64 gb memory card (and it was even on sale). I don't mind the weeaboo games, so the system has plenty for me. I'm just worried about future releases.
Nope, initially I was, other than P4 I had no games on it but now there's a bunch of games I have and some more that will come
No, playing Chrono Cross atm, waiting for my 64GB card to arrive on the mail.
I have so many fucking games but so little time because of college, comp physics is fucking hard, I need to study so much I don't have time for vidya.
>of all the people there
Can't wait for DR2 next week. Hope Another Episode gets localized.
Register a fake adress, buy psn credit from an amazon account registered in the United States, they let you pay with any credit card regardless and they don't double check adresses to see if it's legit.
I'm registered to the white house.
Got it at launch and never regretted it for a minute.
Though I do come close when E3 comes around and Sony has fucking nothing to show for it.
What I do regret is buying Ridge Racer at launch and Conception 2 during the summer sale.
Well the first bit was pretty nice, I agree. I liked it up until about after the Moonlit Black Cats part. But how is the video game? It looked fun. Also is the Infinity Moment part just the old game as it was or is the gameplay upgraded to be like Hollow Fragment's?
I got my Vita ridiculously cheap thanks to a sale (Argos selling off the 3G model super cheap) and the fact that I worked in the Home Retail Group Head Office (the company that owns Argos) meant I got my Staff Discount as well as some vouchers I'd won in an office competition.
I've mostly enjoyed playing indie games on it and also PSOne classics which are made better by the second stick. Even playing PSP games on it is much better thanks to the second stick and better screen.
When I think of all the idiots who buy every iPod/iPad etc iteration every year for £400+ I think my £100 spent on updating my old PSP was worth it. Especially since my old PSP was half dead and battered to fuck (though I still use it for emulation).
A little. I like anime, but anime esque games are usually heavily pandering garbage with bad gameplay and I don't care for Sony's first party games.
The only game I've beat on mine is MGS3.
Don't regret it at all, its pretty great and underrated at this point. Plenty of great games if you're a "weeb" by /v/ standards. Playing D4 revisted as i browse /v/ right now. Cant wait for shinovi versus next month
Not really. I haven't played mine in a while, but I'm slowly amassing the library of titles I wanted to pick up for it.
My 3DS still gets more play, though both of those have a bit of a barren release schedule until the fall.
Yes and no. I did get some use out of the vita-- hotline miami, soul sacrifice delta, and dangan ronpa, plus a few minutes here and there of UMVC3 on the go. I'm sure there are some other games for me to play, but that's definitely "backlog and bored."
I won't trade it in, but I'm tempted to.
Nope, I got mine for 110 with a free game, a traveling case, and a 16GB memory card.
Maybe if I had bought it for full price like a retard than I'd be regretting it, but I didn't.
I have plenty of games, some ports/exclusives, but they're still fun. I also get them for dirt cheap (I have only paid more than $20 for a select few games) because the games are always on sale.
I'm also looking forward to Sengan Kagura and Freedom Wars in the next months.
I'm actually thinking of buying one. I play mainly on PC but I'd like a handheld for my fix of weeaboo games.
My only problem is that I'm yuropoor and I have no idea of how the whole US account thing works.
I haven't had a handheld since Gameboy Color, and I was excited to be able to play Final Fantasy when I'm away from home (mostly in airports / on flights).
So far I have finished FF7, 8 and 9 on my vita, and I am part way through X and X-2.
The only things I really dislike about it are that the screen is too dark in sunny conditions, and the shape/controls get uncomfortable after a while with my adult hands.
I got mine for free, so no. However, I got it under the pretense that there would eventually be games on it that I wanted to play. Now over two years later, there isn't a single one, and I don't own a single one. No GTA, no GoW, no Metal Gear. I'm disappointed in it, but I don't regret having one.
I regret selling mine.
I sold it not because I didn't play it enough, but because I found myself retreating into during moments of stress: and since there were a lot of things bothering me at the time, I spent a lot of time in the Vita: Killzone, Sony Smash, Tearaway, Wipeout, Soul Sacrifice, and others entertained me plenty; not to mention the huge log of PSP games I was still enjoying.
I sold it to try and regain my footing. Now that I'm feeling better I miss having gotten rid of it. I'm considering getting a 3DS down the road, just to try out something new, but the ache of my gone Vita still pangs, a bit. I'm also a superficial whore, so have no desire to buy one of the newer models; mine was the bright ass beautiful white.
Well since there are plenty of people who played those games already, there's less reason for them to buy a Vita.
If you never did, you'd be better off buying one of those systems instead of a Vita since they have more to play.
Why would you spend shitloads of money to get a device with games similar to what you can play on every smartphone in existence? They are nothing but a fun way to waste some time while sitting in a toilet or riding a bus.
Because some of the exclusives to these handhelds are smartly designed in a way as to be more enjoyably experienced on a handheld than in any other sort of venue; and they're not on smartphones. Sometimes, after work, or after cleaning up the house, I used to enjoy collapsing onto the couch and booting up a game of Sony Smash online. It was always much more fun playing against other people on a handheld than sitting in front of the television. I'm sure 3DS has exclusives that offer the same leisure to its owners.
Since you've never had an OLED, just go with the slim (2000), it is better in all regards aside from the LCD screen, which will not be an issue for you since you can't compare them from experience.
No, that's really the only advantage I see.
Muramasa Rebirth is the same game I played on my Wii and emulated on my PC, albeit with DLC. While the DLC's nice it's not enough to sell me on a system.
Same deal with P4G really.
The original OLED screens are better, brighter, more colorful ect ect
The only reason I would recommend getting a slim is either your wrists get tired or you have fat fingers and cant hit the start and select buttons.
Dude, even consoles are inferior to what PC offers and feel like crippled gaming experience. And handhelds are even more inferior both due to disgusting visuals and because of simplistic controls.
It's all phone level crap which is pretty much unplayable unless it's the most casual arcade with 4 buttons to press.
Why do you even play games? To waste some time while seeing pew-pew on the screen or to actually enjoy the game be it a challenging game with focus on gameplay or a "muh cinematic experience" which at least can have a decent story? Handhelds are useless for anything but wasting time.
I didn't regret my vita even once. Can't wait for Danganronpa 2 for Saionji and Mikan!
What are the differences?
To the best of my knowledge, Muramasa is the same game with slightly altered controls and DLC. P4G is P4 but with a new character and slightly changed voicework.
I want to bully Saionji. And Chihiro too.
Muramasa got a whole new translation, I know that. It is apparently better than the senseless attempt at a story in the Wii version.
>Get Akiba in the mail yesterday
>still have to finish VLR, P4G, Gravity Rush, DC, Conception, Curry God, Project Diva on Hard, Danganronpaul Platinum cleanup, Shinobido etc.
>Considering buying Demons Gaze and Wipeout
fuck me. I think the worst thing is how little I've touched of Lumines
I hope Sony makes a Vita 2. I want to play Soul Sacrifice 2 on a glorious handheld with better specs and native 1080p with some anti aliasing. Clean art styles on that thing are going to fucking blow everyone the fuck out. It's frightening how shitty the Vita spec wise is compared to modern phones. I really want a Vita 2 to be top of the line when it comes out.
Fair enouguh, that's definitely an improvement over the PS2 version but I still think the PS2 version is fine. It's not the kind of improvement FES or P3P is to P3.
I love my Vita.
It has a ridiculous amount of games and being able to play any PS1 shit I've bought off the PSN store on both PS3 and Vita is just icing on the cake.
I used to just pirate everything, but having the convenience of being able to play certain games on the big screen OR in a comfy handheld while in bed or out and about in public is just awesome.
Memory card is bullshit and I'm getting more and more worried that's the vita is going to die a sudden death though despite being a great year for vita.
>Do you regret buying a Vita?
Fucking love this thing. Just got a big comfy micro fiber recliner to play it in
Got a white one for 179$. Got Delta and Gravity Rush , dragons crown from ps plus
the decent screen size is my favorite thing about it. Its not too small and with a grip its fucking perfect to have in hand
Has anyone played MK9, Unit 13, and/or the Need for Speed vita games?
Just bought a bundle from some one for those three plus Killzone Mercs all with case and shit for $35.
Plans are to sell of other three games so I virtually get KZ:M for free with a little bit of ebaying or amazoning.
But before I do, I want to make sure I'll never play them.
Tempted to keep MK9 even though I'm not much of a fighter.
Fuck Need for Speed, and Unit 13 looks like a generic shooter or some shit.
Not with e-CFW, no. Even if it's just homebrew, emulators and PSP games that were all possible on the PSP, I still have a second analog stick and a fantastic looking screen. Without that? Yeah, I probably would regret it though.
Not one bit. Mainly because I didn't spend any money on it. Sold a hat on TF 2 for $350 bucks, so I picked up the Vita and several games. I love my weeb games, I like having portable porn, and the Vita fulfills both of those needs.
I want a successor with all the gimmicks gone and shoulder buttons. They need to just polish the Vita up.
Like I said, it's a game I already played. I wouldn't pay for another version of it and another system to play it on if I don't want to play the version I already own again.
But since I said I don't love the game, you probably think my opinion's worthless.
FYI nothing happens to your PSN account, besides not being able to log in once Sony rolls out a new update. Access returns once you do update, but you lose the exploit in the process. I understand where you're coming from, just sayin.
They can become a hindrance and effect control schemes in a negative way which does have repercussions for the types of games you can play and how well certain genres translate to a handheld device. It's one of the reasons why mobile gaming has not taken off with a lot of core gamers.
I drained the batteries on both of my Vitas yesterday. It's the best system I've ever owned, and I have almost 80 games for it.
Yes. They are re-releases with added content, they cater to fans of original games and "never-played-before" crowd.
If you don't like - you dont buy it. But using it like it is a bad thing (port machine etc) is wrong.
See? It is not that hard to understand, I hope.
Even if I liked the game, I wouldn't buy it again just for additional content.
And if I never played the game, I'd just play the version I can play on the system I already own and can emulate.
is there a 101 guide or something? I would be a liar if I said I wasn't interested in it. It just seems like a really scary thing to do since your account has a risk of being deleted for getting caught. Plus, nobody even knows 100% if it is fool proof as one would have to wait until PSN uses the update, no?
But yea, link a guide, a website, or feel free to type if you are in the mood.
I'm sure that even if I didn't do it, other anons would appreciate it.
How are you guys so sure that you won't get caught? I mean throwing your entire PSN account up as a gamble seems really risky
Not that guy but it's called TN-V (or CEF 6.60 TN), It allows you to play PSP backups and shit. I'm scared of using it though since I don't know what kind of detection rate Sony has, it'd be a tragedy to lose my account.
i love my Vita honestly, I'm gonna buy a second one
>Do you regret buying a Vita?
Yes. It doesn't work after only a year.
I think it's because of the obscene amount of gay porn I downloaded on it.
To be honest Oath in Felghana are better than MoC. Doesn't mean MoC is shit, it's actually one of the best vita games, but if you want to get in the series you should definetly play Oath in Felghana.
And get the fucking PC version, not the PSP one.
I know very well what TN-V or even Ark is, however that guy was claiming
>and get all games on PSN free
which is simply bullshit (and the term jailbreak is only used in context with Apple devices).
As for Sony detection, you don't have to worry at all, nobody was ever banned because of that, you can even access PS Store from TN-V without being worried about getting banned
I bet you never owned a PS2.
Sony have always been jews.
Well yes, it is a cheaper way to enjoy gaming. But not everyone is like that, you know. Just look at P4G sales. And I still don't understand why "ports" are bad.
Ys Celceta, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Wipeout, Lumines, VLR, Disgaea 4, Sword Art Online.
Here's the site for it: http://wololo.net/
Click Vita CFW around the top bar. The basic run-down is:
>Wait for someone to announce that a PSN game is exploited (Find out faster if registered on the site's talk forums)
>Usually a cheap $1-5 game
>wait for Sony to find out and remove game from PSN
>Announcer releases exploit save data
>download and transfer that to Vita
>Game exploited and can run homebew, emulators, PSP and PS1 games(Latter two only with TNV)
I've had my Vita exploited for well over a year, have had no problems, nor have I ever even heard of anyone's Vita or PSN account getting banned for using one.
if you want some actual visa along with your waifus, Spelunky is a must. The walking Dead remains bretty good for most of the time. The system also has the definitive version of both Raymen.
Guacamelee is the prettiest game on the system for my money, Sonic Racing is my most played title.
I've described it before.
>PS Vita library is nothing but PS2 or PS3 ports
>PS2 and PS3 library are both much bigger and much cheaper, or you could buy a Vita and play a fraction of that library for greater cost
No. While it may not have a lot of first party support from Sony, it's getting a fuckton of weeb games right now which I'm more than okay with.
>mfw Oreshika, Freedom Wars, Shinovi Versus, htoL#NiQ, Tales of Hearts, and Project Diva 2nd all before the end of the year
Don't buy Toukiden yet, the ultimate version is coming out very soon in Japan, so it'll be localized in a few months. In Soul Sacrifice Delta you play as a prisoner of a mad wizard and while waiting to be the next in line of getting sacrificed you come across a magic talking book which allows you to relive the past of another wizard who personally knew your captor. The gameplay is mission based and there is a lot of lore to read.
The only thing that makes me sad is the fact that they don't have any of the original crash and spyro games...
The only way to get these is to actually sign in to the japan store
I still play lots of vidya there, more than the 3ds, but I still need to get back to my old psp2000 to actually play them...
>Usually a cheap $1-5 game
Not since FW 3.00 (I think) when Sony crippled out the PSP Minis, they can't be used anymore so you have to buy some of the full games which are sbout $15-20.
Also, what's the point of having Vita just for the sake of having a shitty PSP from it and not being able to use PSN and play new Vita games until you update?
I love my glorious weeb machine and it's animu vidya. I love playing classic PS1 PS2 and PSP games on that glorious OLED screen. I like the fit & finish and build quality. It's a sexy device.
I don't have much time to play video games due to juggling school and work except for handhelds on the bus to uni but as an idiort I play my vita every day while the 3ds collects dust. Both have great games but I wish the 3ds' hardware didn't make me feel like a child.
2nd analog stick and fantastic screen? I personally don't have much interest in any of the Vita's new releases anyway, besides maybe Dangan Ronpa 2. Besides that, i'm fairly content. Doesn't really hurt me at all.
Depends if you like those kinda games. The strong point of Persona 3 and 4 are social interactions with people. I would definetly recommend you P3 over P4 though since it feels a bit more mature.
Even if both games are japanese teenager level of writing
>PS Vita library is nothing but PS2 or PS3 ports
Wrong. Also port is not a re-release with added content.
>PS2 and PS3 library are both much bigger and much cheaper, or you could buy a Vita and play a fraction of that library for greater cost
I agree with much bigger statement, but there are enough exclusive Vita titles. Portability is awesome, playing something like Disgaea on a handheld >>> playing it on PS3.
But I bet you still don't care, since you look like a person who hates using money on his hobby. And gaming is expensive.
>Have job at
>work in a country hick town so nobody plays vita
>guy walks in, asks for Xilla 2
>holy shit an adult male buying a weeb game for himself
>start talking to him about it
>asks him how the fuck he has time for it
>he says he doesn't
>understand the pain
>clearly likes weeb shit so start talking about Vita
>he has one as well as knows about and buys imported games
>almost shit myself because live in country hick town where nobody does anything like that
>Start talking about Generic Moe Blob in Vidjaland: the Game (Neptunia).
>he doesn't know anything about it, preface my conversation with "you like generic moe cutesy girls and no plot"
>start talking about Re;Birth 1 releasing in a few days
>talk about HDN PP which he also gets interested in
>pull up trailer and we watch a little of it, then he wants that as well
>ask him if he's played Demon Gaze since I've been wanting to get into it
>he says no but he's been playing Corpse Party
>tell him it's like a VN that's perverted as shit with girls pantsu and shit
>he sounds as excited as I am about it
>pay for games
Literally the coolest fucker I've had the satisfaction of dealing with while working there.
I wasn't even trying to upsell the Neptunia game, I'm just happy someone would listen to me sperg out about it since nobody there likes weeb games unless it's final fantasy or w/e.
I doubt you browse 4chan anon, but if you're out there, thanks for making my day.
>job at gamestop
>wall of text story
Not your blog anon~
every social link is it's own story and you still don't know how people were killed, what their motives were and shit like this. You should also probably leave before people start telling you everything
Reminder that the Soul Sacrifice Delta x Freedom Wars crossover dlc is out despite FW not being out in the west yet.
Dunno, never played it.
But from what I can tell, it looks like part dance game (like project diva) and part simulator where you raise girls or something.
Looks really interesting.
Why, was it terrible?
Shit, I hope I didn't accidentally rec him a shit game.
I'm strongly considering buying a Vita.
I wanted to get FFX-X2, P4, Toukiden. I'm also moving from the UK to the US soon, but I think they're region free, right?
Any recommendations? Packs? Games?
-Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
-Final Fantasy Explorers
These are what I'm most excited for.
Just Monster Hunter alone is worth the 3DS buy. You guys are stuck with shitty clones, no offense.
look at all those sonyggers deflecting. Do you really have no arguments to back up your shitty handheld other than flat out lying on the internet?
Listen lets not pretend like Sony didn't want to capitalize on that audience.
Poor us anon.
Look at all these boring dinos.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will only be on the 3DS unfortunately.
>getting called out on your shit
>we shouldn't do this, people don't like it if we are shittalking superior handhelds
No shit. If you have buyer's remorse over your dead shita you shouldn't try to justify it by blaming the 3DS. Just fucking sell it and get one already.
Rather. I am actually contemplating buying one as soon as I get paid, together with Persona 4 Golden and Muramasa Rebirth for starters.
Are the outfits you get from the fat greedy bastard the only things available in game?
Ive been using pick related for a while. I dont like anything els made for the the FemSorcerer
I'm not gonna derail the thread arguing about something that's been argued about since release by 3ds owners who don't know anything about soul sacrifice.
you win, i'm wrong, you're right, i'm dumb etc. etc.
I got it as a gift from my
wifelast Christmas, and I genuinely enjoy it. I'm playing Dragon's Crown on it and it's pretty damn awesome. That aside, I want to play a dumb RPG that's light-hearted and fun without too much weebshit. Anything like Harvest Moon or something on it?
For clothes yes they are the only ones in the game (apart from the ones that are automatically added to your wardrobe in certain updates), however you can get a ton more of accessories apart from the ones he offers by doing blank pages.
I only have a 3DS so it doesn't really affect me honestly. Nintendo has MH locked up right now.
which is why you see similar games pop up on different systems.
cough, merely coincidence though. yes... just a coincidence.
and then there are the psychic link accessories which aren't obtainable in any other way. So make sure to check your psychic link every few days
I regret getting into this gen of portable systems as it just feels like such a step down from my CFWPSP.
I don't regret getting a Vita when my 3DS wasn't enough however. I need both.
I once made a sentai themed wizard and made it look like his outfit was a full bodysuit by making his skin color match the clothes
no it has been my most used console the last year. It's really good for smuggling some actual decent games into my everyday to and from university, instead of random mobile garbage.
I'm currently working on my backlog, which mainly consists of JRPGs. Anyone who says it lacks games probably don't like japanese games.
>/v/ likes the vita
what the fuck happened
I TOLD YOU NIGGAS TO STA AWAY FROM STRANGE HOLES
Would anyone trade theirs for my 3DS (Not XL)? I have an extra and need a Vita.
It's an aqua blue one with a pokemon decal set on it that looks busy sort of like pic.
The vita got the best games in my opinion this year of course I love mine
How the fuck did sony manage to ignore freedom wars for two whole conferences? It's FIRST PARTY for fucks sake.
Japan didn't like it. PS4 is selling like hotcakes, so why would they even talk about the Vita in the first place? People are anticipating games for the PS4 while the Vita fanbase already knows what games are coming out.
Hey /v/ i need your guidance
Theres not much much i want for the 3ds but its getting fantasy life and it has bravely defualt so i caoukld get a 3ds xl and wait to get games later
or i could buy a certain windows tab
Its cheaper than a 3ds but its also a tablet PC so i could post on /v/ play shit like Fallout 3 STALKER and Nihon Falcom games from the comfort of my bed
I could also pirate DS games and have a viable way of playing them
It would also double as a portable animu and mango viewing media center
yeah gravity rush was awesome.
I bought a vita off my friend, and my PS+ sub had gotten me wipeout and gravity rush. I played wipeout and was blasted away by how good it was, but gravity rush?
Gravity rush validated my purchase of a vita by itself. After getting the platinum for it (something i rarely do), I wanted more, so I bought all the DLC and played them through.
man i can't wait for Gravity Rush 2
No i own a vita and I love it Its the perfect companion of the PSP and the perfect successor(except for the memory cards)
I'm treating this thread as a handheld thread
why do people like gravity rush so much? I got 3 months of ps+ with my vita and played it. It was a gimicky game and got repetitive after 2 hours. Luckily I got like VLR and played it for 50 hours in 3 days.
No,I enjoy some weebshit even if they are low tier, good enough portable for times I cannot sleep and need something to get me tired enough. (or in general)
>Currently playing Ratchet & Clank Trilogy (and yes for the 40th time it runs good and is a decent port, even if Jak&Daxter ports were a shit)
I loved gravity rush its flawed but easily in my top list of games
im getting a physical copy so i can put it with all my rare games and show the world to get that shit and play it
Why aren't you playing Monster Hunter Frontier G on your Sony PlayStation®Vita TV?
I'm angry about the touch and motion controls being core to the experience. I never liked this kind of stuff and it really detracts from my enjoyment of an otherwise pretty good game. I hope the sequel focuses more on just a good control scheme without utilizing these dumb features.
the full picture is a dude messing with her tits while she's tired so she gives him that look
because the vita tv is shit and you should feel bad
You can't even play tales of hearts R
Definitely don't regret it. There have been phases when I barely used it, yeah, but I've been able to satisfy my jrpg itch fairly well. Currently playing Disgaea 4 and SAO and they are both solid games.
>why do people like gravity rush so much?
Haven't played anything like it before I think
Gimmicks used in good ways minus the swipe to doge
Story got me interested from the demo
Somewhat visually appealing
MC is alright
to each his own, anon. It just clicked with me completely, despite its obvious flaws, and the later challenges required you to git gud
>gravity kick to accelerate quickly
>aim it so that you hit the right angle of a wall
>hold down both sides of the screen to enter gravity sliding at the precise moment of impact, loosing no momentum at all
If I can love a game so much, despite me knowing of all its flaws, I simply can't wait to see what they can do with a sequel.
i've only had it for like 2 months, though.
tearaway was fun and virtues last reward was good
ape escape, persona 1 and jet set radio are also fun on it
The controls are one of my favorite things about the game.
They make good use of them so I dont mind it. Its doesnt feel Wii level forced and its not breaking my wrist down into a fine powder to just to play so meh
depends how much you value the oled over the improvements of the slim model
Vita 2 will never happen.
Sony has already jumped off the train of handhelds and considers the Vita to be a failure. The lack of support from Sony is almost baffling.
Here you go
after I messed a bit around with the sensitivity options I got used to it really quick. It turned out to be really useful actually
>mainly use right stick as camera and aiming
>tilt the vita ever so slightly while aiming to be more precise and faster
The same exact feature made aiming in Killzone mercenary really fast and easy. Just do the larger aiming with the stick, then fine tune your shot with a slight tilt of the vita and you are golden.
everytime without fail
I just fucking hate the skittles and the proprietary cancer I need to have on my PC to transfer files.
I figure what I'm really asking for is a better PSP, which this thing so far has not been. Slow as shit PS1 emulation (as for some reason it's emulating a PSP that's emulating a PS1), nowhere near as great battery life, etc. etc. etc. And I love that for all the whining people did about how handhelds had to have dual analog sticks because they were the future, the amount of games that are better on Vita and actually make use of the fucking things can be counted on one hand.
Still, that screen is something else, especially for 2D games. I think the OLED tech isn't quite mature yet, and cameras as well as a front and back touchpad were a fucking dumb idea - but over all it's a decent handheld that I wish would have seen support.
You know, actual support.
Not fucking console games and tryhard indie nostalgiabait titles.
It's still the best argument for a handheld so far, but despite everything it always comes down to games. The 3DS is a piece of shit but it's got a middling to decent library. The Vita is an incredible piece of hardware with an absolutely godawful library - one or two gems notwithstanding.
Let's see, the story with my Vita...
>wanted it for Rayman Origins
>after some time, I bought one on my birthday because "Why not? I could use something nice"
>first game was Uncharted
>then got Gravity Rush
>enjoyed that, too(fuck getting back to the overworld, though)
>after about 6 months' time, end up with 9 or so Vita games, Rayman Origins included
>take advantage of the PSP exploit when I can
>end up getting a 64GB card largely for this reason
>now have 12 Vita games, ~35 PSP games, and 50+ emulated SNES/GBA/GBC games, along with about 12 PS1 games
>still buy new games every now and then and the occasional PS1 game
>overall, pretty satisfied
I can't say I regret it. I do have far too much to play, though. It can be overwhelming at times. Doesn't help that I made the decision to play through the entire FF series again while still buying new games.
There you go with that hivemind meme again.
You know most of the people who shitpost about the vita wanted to play games other than weeb ones.
If you dont want to play weeb games you arent going to have fun, simple as that.
While I rarely play my vita there are some games I want to play on it both big and small, it is just an issue of memory card space and game availability online in aus.
When I do get a ps4 I think it will be a fantastic as a peripheral device using remote play and crossbuy.
I would play it more but I dislike weabo/animu games. Which is what it has kind of become.
it's slimmer, has about 1 or 2 extra hours of battery life, has 1gb of internal memory (not used if you insert a memory stick, but smart for saves I guess...)
Its better to hold due to better ergonomics and lower weight, and the smaller start/select buttons aren't as much of a hassle to push anymore. The L and R buttons are slightly improved too.
Would I trade my OLED screen for all these good things? Fuck no.
I can't play online, though, so that kind of sucks. I'm kind of contemplating getting an indie game or something. I don't know if Terraria is any good, but if it goes on sale, I'll check it out.
Damn son, I got mine nearly mint for 150.
I honestly do not regret purchasing a Vita, and it is the first handheld I don't regret purchasing (and I have purchased a Game Gear, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advanced, DSlite, 3DS, PSP, and Vita). I really don't understand all the hate that it gets.
honestly I wish I had one. the hardware is great and there are alot of games I want to play on it, but being PC scavenger race I can't stomach the cost of the system + games + memory cards. so unless I get some more income I think I'll just buy one super cheap after it tanks or once it gets hacked. I know it's scummy but I can't justify going full vita when I have all these PSP and PC games I can play right now. also I don't really get out.
Well, I've had my Vita for almost a year now, so I was just buying a game or two along the way. Most of what I bought was used. Did the math, and the average purchase was about 22 bucks. The PSP and emulated stuff largely came from one purchase, though. I've only actually bought about 4 PSP games, and even those were 12 bucks average. I've spent about 550-600 bucks total since I got it.
not worse, just not as good (if you can say that).
Thing is, the OLED screen is so fucking good that the normal screen on the Vita 2000 pales in comparison.
That being said, you need to put them side by side before you actually notice it, since its easy to get used to either of them.
When I tried out my buddys Vita 2000 i immediatly noticed how the colours weren't as saturated as on my Vita 1000, but after like, 5 minutes I didn't care anymore.
I think vita 2000 is a solid deal right about now. It's WAY better to hold, I can tell you that for a fact, and when it comes down to it, I think you'll appreciate that a whole lot more.
THIS GAME GOT REALLY GOOD REVIEWS
im getting this and tales R andyou cant stop me
Baba said that if tales of hearts R sells well he'll give us tales of innnocence R too
Not more than I regret buying my 3DS in all honesty
I bought my vita to play PSP/PS1 games i never played mostly, although I should've probably just hacked a PSP or something on hindsight..., even then Wipeout, Gravity Rush and Persona 4 are great games
As for my 3DS, I bought it for Pokemon X and it turned out to be massive shit and Zelda 3D got ridden of the dark and grim atmosphere i liked so much. RF4 and KH:DDD make up for it, though
Server maintenance right now, but I'll be sure to try it as soon as possible.
I really really don't care for Soul Sacrifice but love Monster Hunter. I'm hoping this game leans more toward MH.
it's getting there. Just like the vita, it takes time
dang so in the ends it's not worth it
so it's the psp that has the emulation and exploitedness
while the vita has access to the new games and psp games off the psn store?
I was planing on buying it too. It will be my first neptunia game and if it's shit I probably won't give this franchise another try.
Also how are the Vita Corpse Party games? Are they remakes of the PSP ones or should I get those before the Vita ones will be localized?
If you hate differing opinions so much, why are you here instead of /reddit/?
I dislike how the Vita has little Western games outside of overpriced indie titles and a couple racing games. I'm waiting on something good. Anything. If Tearaway had some replay value, I'd have gotten that.
Yep, pretty much. Like I said, though, you can't access online if you have an exploit. Sony's always adding new useless firmware that renders the exploit useless(if you decide to update). Accessing the store is a bit of a trip, too. You need a PS3 to transfer games to the Vita.
>I really don't understand all the hate that it gets.
Have you seen it get much hate outside the internet?
I see it get shat on almost everywhere Online mainly rehashed arguments of jackasses that probably haven't had more than a day to use one to the fullest but do see people playing the thing in restaurants. on the bus. hospitals, cafes campus ect..
I recently let some friends know they can import games for the thing and some either got one or just play with it more
I miss my Game Gear. Its around here somewhere I just cant find it ;_;
This is a complete remake of the very first neptunia game
if you want in on the series now is the time
Yes and no.
Yes I regret it because it wasn't the cheapest thing and I rarely get to utilize it.
No because when I play it, it's fucking awesome.
...needs better connectivity options with the ps4. A second player personal screen would be amazingly magnificent.
No, I really enjoy it, and its why i am getting a ps4 when i come down to buying the new gen console.
They made a fun enjoyable handheld gaming console that does not feel gimmicky, ignored, or shit.
I have to admit i only play a few vita exclusive games on it, but they have so many ps1, ports, and other games on there that it literally makes it the best console ever for me. Really gutted i went for xbox360 last gen after seeing how good sony are.
The difference isn't that bad, but people will exaggerate the differences all the time. If you get your hands on one, you'll probably be fine with it. I would be, just for the fact that it's lighter and more comfortable to hold.
it's pretty close to monhun, but a tiny bit faster. Since you have access to a lot of allies from the get go, you can be 4 "players" against normal missions, making them fairly easy early on.
I think it is the best game to introduce hunting games to new players.
It looks fucking beautiful too. Screenshots does not do it justice.
Still have my Game Gear but no games. I'm not about to buy some, though. I miss my Power Rangers game. That was the shit.
Eh, new PS3's aren't too expensive. You'd have to gauge whether it's worth the purchase, though. I already had a PS3, so it was just a bonus. Sorry about yours, though. I'm hoping mine doesn't die out on me. My first one got stolen, and I lucked out with this one. Got it used from Gamestop, but it works perfectly. Had to exchange the first shitty one they sent me, though. At least I kept the controller that came with the shitty one.
the vita atelier games are their own story play rorona totori and merueru in that order
the only corspe party games out are the PSP ones on the PSN store
there is a new corpse party game out for the vita in japan called blood drive it is a new entry in the series and has the gameplay of corpse party 2
XSEED said they were interested in it
>e. You'd have to gauge whether it's worth the purchase, though. I already had a PS3, so it was just a bonus.
yeah well I plan on fixing it/new one since I have a fair amount of games for it and its my homes media centre-movies and whatnot.
after that I was considerng a handheld and /v/'s definetly swaying me away from 3ds and towards a vita
Im playing now more than my 3DS or other major games systems I have. I own slim and now I'm going to own a white one here soon because I want a home unit and one that I can take on the road and not freak if it gets damaged.
That said the memory card prices are Bullshit.
Another thing, Toukiden Kiwami is releasing next week.
>/v/'s definetly swaying me away from 3ds and towards a vita
>/v/ is doing this
That's surprising. Good on you, though. I've got both and enjoy both. Can't wait until next month. I'll be buying a couple of new games for the first time in since April.
>getting hype for idolmaster
>getting hype for idolmaster exclusive
>getting hype for multiplats
It hurts me as a Playstation fanboy, but I'm already saving money for a gaymen pc
>tfw all the games coming soon
>Senran Kagura SV
>Project Diva F 2nd
>Tales of Hearts R
Huh? What's that? Should I be looking into that instead?
Every time I feel ready to check out a new Vita game, I find out there's a sequel already out or on the way meaning I'd have to play the first beforehand, which in turn means I'm just never going to play either. I really wish this would stop happening.
The Viita Slim was a console designed to lower the price of the handheld itself, and it REALLY shows. The screen is worse than the OLED, and the console itself makes it look a concept piece compared to the original looking like a "final product."
>complaining about weebshit,on a weeb console
on a weeb post filledboard, with (mostly) weeb banners.
If you could have any game PORTED to the vita what game would it be?
Chose 2 features to add to the game.
my freinds are trying to push me for a 3ds but I really only want sernran kagura, monsterhunter and phoenixwright/aceattroney.
if work goes well I might get both- but I don't want to jump the gun
I can't even be excited for Xenoverse. I already know that it's going to die in a month. Not fucking with Guilty Gear until I get some more characters. Tekken 7 won't come for quite some time, and everything else just seems okay.
The game is pretty much headcannon/fanfic the game, during your fight with Heathcliff the game glitches out and you don't beat SAO so now you have to climb to floor 100 and win for real.
you can also ditch shit-tier Asuna and replace her with god-tier Lizbeth or Sinon
Gameplay is okay
I'd rate it a strong 7.5 to a weak 8
It's even better if you're a huge SAO fan like I am, yes I know I'm cancer
hunting games. It's a genre.
Phantasy Star Online started it. Nowedays, Monster Hunter is the most popular one.
The Vita has several hunting games that are fairly different to the way monhun does it.
>Toukiden (the one who sticks closest to how monhun plays)
I have played SS, GE and Toukiden and I like all of them. I still have Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on my Vita if I want to hunt for old times sakes every now and then.
>implying I bought one
I'm glad that Vita owners have no choice but to regret it now, though.
The Tales series isn't really weeaboo.
MH with friends will probably hold you over for a long time. I don't really have anyone to play with, so I don't have it. I've got FU on PSP, though.
It's a G game, like MH4G is to MH4. It's pretty much the norm in japan.
It's the base toukiden game with double the monsters, double the story, , three new weapons and number of times the amount of equipment.
will the vita ever be able to emulate old games like the psp did?
why does the vita use an overpriced proprietary mem card rather than the common sony mem card all other sony products use?
Probably the only person on the board that enjoys Ragnarok Odyssey ace. Oh well.
Don't forget MHFG, PSO2, PSNova and Gundam Breaker.
>people want freedom wars
Hope you like begging the RNG to give you a weapon with stats you like when you craft. Also the game does not actually have 8 player co-op despite being advertised as such.
this list saved me
HOLY FUCK /v/ HOLY FUUUUUUCK
EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 2 WHICH NEVER GOT A MURRICAN RELEASE IS GETTING EDF 2025 GAMEPLAY AND CLASSES ENHANCED GRAPHICS AND VERSUS AND CO OP MULTIPLAYER WITH NEW WEAPONS FOR VITA
GUNDAM BREAKER 2 ANNOUNCED PSVITA VERSION CONFIRMED REV UP THOSE IMPORTS FOR THE VITA VERSION
>will the vita ever be able to emulate old games like the psp did?
It already can
>why does the vita use an overpriced proprietary mem card rather than the common sony mem card all other sony products use?
Sony is a business
they want more money
You didn't even read the thread before shitposting did you?
lol, next week in japan
no, next week in Japan he said.
woah wait a minutes, I've only seen a few monsters, show all of them to me. Toukiden vanilla seriously lacked in the amount of monsters department
They haven't revealed all of them, but you can find what they have here
well you can play the original first if you find it cheap somewhere, then transfer your save data to Toukiden Extreme if you decide on getting it.
I have about 50 hours in Toukiden so far, and I enjoy it a lot. It still has room for improvement, so I am glad that they are releasing updates for it. I hope they make a Toukiden 2 next year.
Nope, I waited for it and bought it after playing the demo. That was one of my first Vita experiences.
>few weeks after getting the Vita
>get invited over friend's house
>we all sit down with music playing
>I pull out my Vita and load up the RO demo
>one friend makes the character, then we pass around the Vita, trying out missions
>everyone loses to the Orc King until I make a dedicated effort to beat him
>cheers all around
>we all get raped by the Cerberus thing
Solo Cleric ain't easy.
I couldn't beat 9-8 Utgarda Loki in the original so I gave up, since no one else online was doing it.
Then Ace comes out and for some reason I couldn't transfer my save data over. Still having fun, Cleric is a lot better in ace.
nigga you WANT those massive drops in the framerate.
That's how you know that you are WINNING
I actually bought the ocarina of time zelda 3ds. And besides that, scribblenauts, and A Link between worlds, and like 4 others, I haven't touched it. Tried to play a ton of games on it and just can't get into them. Which is weird because i'm loving my Wii U, and can't put down my vita half the time. 3DS just isn't a good system to me game wise, especially the drought now.
>why does the vita use an overpriced proprietary mem card rather than the common sony mem card all other sony products use?
In my opinion, it's to make them lose money. I back up all my save data to a portable hard drive, now. This is because I could get a 2TB hard drive for the same price as a 64GB card. So now my PS3 is backed up to my HDD, my vita gamesaves are backed up to my HDD, almost my entire movie collection (plus some) has been pirated and transfered to my HDD (letting me throw away my hard copies), and my pirated ebooks are saved onto my HDD.
I just shuffle my vita games around on the vita itself. The overall convenience the HDD brought me was far better than a mere 64GB memory stick on the Vita itself. It was also more damaging to the television, music and film industries, all of which Sony has a hand in, as well. They sure thought ahead!
I also haven't paid for a single game at full price on my Vita, thanks to PS+, which also signed me up for free PS3 games, too (which has subsequentially drastically decreased my purchase of PS3 games to a whopping two games this year).
They sure showed me!
Original Toukiden sell well (around 550K worldwide), and Kiwami will sell much more. So there's no reason to not release a sequel since sales will be even higher.
Also, KT loves Playstation and the Vita specially.
