Who's excited for the Korra platinum game here /v/?
I don't really watch avatar, but I would like to just take a moment to say that this is what happens when ditch the faggy classical bullshit and start bending some real elements. You fuck people up. Can't wait until someone starts uraniumbending.
>Villain is meant to be relaxed and be focused on his goal
>Decides to play with korra instead of just fucking killing her for 5 god damn minutes
This has been what, the final boss fight of every season now?
The Middle One Makes a Good Point
>tfw no airaboo friends to talk about guru lahima with ;_;
>An Avatar from the Future shows up and warns them that in a few years Korra dies from her poisoning, so he gives them the cure
>He then reveals that 2 cyborg benders created by the evil Dr. Varrick show up and destroy the world
>An evil spirit later appears to absorb the cybernetic benders to achieve its perfect form
>Korra is now in a race against time to unlock a form past the Avatar State
>The Avatar State 2
The leader has the worst man
>lose his loved one
>fail all his friends
>sacrifice everything and fails
>can fly but will never be free again
>will probably rot in jail
>has to remember that all days of his life until he dies
I can't believe it took the avatar series SIX seasons for the first airbender to suffocate someone
that is OP as fuck
just like bloodbending
but that also makes me think
water gets bloodbending
fire gets lightning
earth gets metal and lava
what does air get?
Anyone else pleasantly surprised by how good S3 was after how shitty S2 was? S2 was literally tumblr fanfiction.
Warmly waiting for S4 and the Platinum game.
Haven't read the thread, but is the 3rd season worth watching? Thought the first was mostly good though it had its failings, the second was mostly bad but had its positives
first avatar was god tier.
The finale was basically Ozai vs Aang but actually fun to watch. I enjoyed Korra actually suffering from her actions rather than having Aang fix everything for her, Zaheer flight was foreshadowed from the moment he appeared, etc etc.
>not knowing S4 mastermind yet
Voiced by Zelda Williams
Actually no. Clearly Zaheer was more than qualified to teach airbending, since he was already airbending as a master the second he managed to get airbend.
Less useless then Tenzin at least, Zaheer would , at least, be able to teach how to astralç project, something argably way important for the avatar.
Because you bet she's going to be important
You don't put a gun in a scene, bring attention to the fact that its loaded, and then not have it go off in the next one
My bet is she's a secret red lotus, they gave her ominous music and all
>a korra game made by platinum
It almost works too well...
His body is probably dead at this point.
It's Opal all over again.
>S3 ends with Korra at her absolute weakest; physically and spiritually broken, feels like the world doesn't need her (the Avatar) anymore
>S4 starts off with Jinora as MC, running around bringing balance and shit as best she can; Korra's depression and recovery treated as a subplot
>as season goes on, new thread emerges. Eventually not even Jinora and the Air Nomads, UN can handle it
>Late in the season, Korra battles to emerge from her depression and broken body to help the people that have saved her ass every past season
You know its going to happen.
>Ming-Hua gets electrocuted
>Ghazan gets crushed in a cave-in
>P'Li's fucking head exploded
>Zaheer gets a sock stuffed in his mouth
one of these things just doesn't belong here
Honestly I'm surprised he didn't do it sooner, it seems like it would be his dream.
>Korra, please, be careful and listen to your friends advice.
>*falls into tarrlok games, get captured, lin loses her bending, etc etc*
>BAW WAH WAH WAH
>Korra, please, be careful and listen to your friends advice.
>*remove all defenses from the south water tribe, open the spirit world, start a war between republic city and the water tribe, ends the cycle of the avatar and kills raava*
>BAW WAH WAH WAH
He is probably so fucking happy.
Do you not understand how licensed games work? Nickelodeon went to Activision and said "Get a Korra vidya made" and they went to Platinum and said "Make this shit happen, here's a pile of money"
This shit is pretty good.
All the girls make my pants wet.
But the season finale made my eyes wet.
Why was this the best avatar game.
How did they keep fucking up the games.
I've been wanting a good avatar so I hope to Aang this one is good.
>Jade Empire could be reskinned as the perfect avatar game.
>Korra x Asami even fill the Bioware quota.
See any resemblance ?
Even after watching this over and over again, it's still so damn hilarious. 10/10
forgot the fucking picture....
Like, yea they didn't show it because children and what not, it sucks, but what do you honestly lose from not seeing it?
You fucking know she's dead, the point gets across pretty clearly, what difference does it make if its shown or not?
They don't have to tell she's dead nor show it since its so clear, specially with zaheer's reaction, not to mention she fucking exploded, there's a smoke trail behind, it wouldn't just be a little blood. If anything, its already not at the extreme of not showing
I think we should stop pretending earth, water, and air have special bending powers. They're basically adept forms of bending.
Fire and Lightning are the only special case of bending. It's supposedly done by controlled breathing... but shouldn't that be air?
Why does fire knock people back? Are they throwing explosions?
Why wouldn't an airbender be able to bend fire?
She's already mindbroken so you're halfway there.
korra looks excited in this image
I really fucking liked the bags under korras eyes. Tired eyes are sexy.
>The entire season are her friends and family humoring her in her bed ridden hallucinating state.
>The game is based on season 4, and is the reason enemies spawn in and out of reality.
Guys I dont watch the show. Is there a scene of her getting crippled? I just wanna see that shit.
Also video games
S1 and 2, maybe.
>Tenzin beaten to within an inch of his life.
>Mind reader guy's spirit tossed into limbo, leaving his body to decay and die alone.
>Earth Queen is suffocated to death.
>Combustion exbendable inadvertently blows her head off.
>Water exbendable is electrocuted to death.
>Lava exbendable crushes himself to death.
>Korra barely survives having half a gallon of Mercury pumped directly into her system, leaving her confined to a wheelchair.
Shit got dark, yo.
It's mercury poisoning. So not a specific scene. She just gets weaker and weaker as the iconic fight of the season goes on. She's not necessarily paralyzed either, but she's certainly too weak to walk anymore.
Now place your bets if this is permanent to pander to SJWs or will get fixed immediately next season.
Yes and no.
The "one week later" or however the long flash forward shows her wheel chair bound, but you don't know if her friends and family are lying about her getting better, or if she will because "Avatar god mode" magic.
aang shows up and fingers her butthole while she's too weak to walk away
then smears her bloody, syrupy poo butter under her nose and laughs as he realizes it's the same color as her skin
>Takes interesting and strong female lead
>THROW HER IN A WHEELCHAIR ARE WE PROGRESSIVE YET?
Holy shit it's fucking hilarious.
>Korra uses the Avatar-Successor Kamehameha with Aang to finish off Perfect Ozai
>to pander to SJW
Not everything is pandering, Jesus.
If you watch the fight scene there are a few times where she lands really hard on her legs. It's not surprising she's in a wheelchair.
I'm just surprised they haven't called in Katara to help heal it
when you explode a head, fall 400 feet and land on stone at terminal velocity, get smacked in the ribs with 60 pounds of ice flying at 30 miles and hour, or fall 500 feet into a bunch of branches,
there is normally blood
Its not so much about being progressive as it is about breaking her down. She thwarted the Red Lotus and saved the day, but at great cost to her. Which stands in sharp contrast to the other two finales, where she gets off scot-free.
She's at her best during that fight with Zaheer, and then has her greatest fall. And in S4, she'll rise to the occasion when needed most after being seemingly discarded by the world.
Seriously man, do you even into writing tropes?
Yoshinori Kitase did it before it was cool.
I have the same opinion about you about the first two seasons and the first Avatar, I'd say the third season is worth checking out. Probably the best Korra season but still not as good as Avatar
Now you see the light. Tell me, anon, does it burn?
Well it's either pandering or it's torture porn. Hard to well which. If it's the later, then that's hot as fuck.
They had a kid in a flying wheelchair in that episode where they find Earth Kingdom refugees living in that old Air Temple, they can certainly get a few episodes of wheelchair-fu in before they press the reset button.
Best loli as MC? I wish.
>they remove korra boot
>they keep the rest of her clothes
they're fucking in the spirit world anon
It means we might get a Korra skin for Bayonetta, or a Bayonetta skin for Korra.
Either of those would make my dick split mountains. Now if only Platinum games would release a Megas XLR game so we can do the same with Kira
>Korra feels dead inside
>still tries to crack a smile for the children
To be entirely fair, she nearly died of mercury poisoning. She doesn't have to be an emotional wreck to feel like the most shit person on the planet.
Nice past tense. So we're already at the stage we consider her character as good as dead/disposable at this point?
She turned herself over to the Red Lotus in an attempt to secure the safety of the airbenders. They took her to their lair, chained her up and pumped half a gallon of the stuff into her through her skin.
She turned herself into the badguys in roder to secure the air nomads freedom, as zaheer had captured them, and they chain her up, and poison her with mercury to force her into the avatar state so they can kill her and end the cycle
The bad guys' master plan was to poison her with mercury so she would instinctively go into the avatar state to fight it off, then they'd kill her and end the avatar cycle because they hated authority figures and saw the avatar as the biggest authority figure in the world.
Basically Zaheer was on a crusade to find the world's biggest fedora and tip it.
So how long until Toph stops wandering the Earth for enlightenment to bitchslaps Korra for letting her disability hold her back?
The avatar could never really be evil. They are reincarnations of an overall good person who's soul is bound to the spirit of light. Zaheer really only wanted to kill her because the avatar is the greatest authority figure in the world and Zaheer is an anarchist.
Everytime they tried to expand on the series' universe it just disappointing me
I still can't decide if I like Korra or not (a good finale doesn't redeem everything) and I think the worst thing I ever did to myself was read the comic where they find Ursa
You will never have a brown skinned warrior woman gf.
People bitched at the end of season 1 how there were no long term consequences for anything that happened, so when they were writing the finale of season 2 the writers went "fine you fucking nerds, you want a consequence? Here's your fucking consequence."
I was sure that Zaheer had found some way to use the avatar to give EVERYONE bending.
Y'know, have no authority figures, because everyone can shot lightning and shit. It seemed to fit with the theme of new spontaneous Airbenders, as well, they admitted that Unalaq was Red Lotus, and he was all about stealing the avatar's power.
>You will never have an amazon, war-machine, gf that thought about your cock for 13 years straight
>He gets to rot in jail after.
>His love and his friends die.
>Failing his plan.
>Getting a sock put in his mouth by a joke of a mover star.
>After learning how to fly as free as a bird.
Legend of suffering indeed.
Probably because it looks ridiculous to see him straight up superman hovering when other air benders either had to conjure clouds or use gliders. I think the most Aang ever did without his glider was just hulk-leap over distances
People still watch Korra? Literally a poor man's last airbender
The first season was complete garbage, stopped watching there. Who wants to watch faggots play made up sports games for 8 episodes straight?
>I still can't decide if I like Korra or not
The issue with Korra is Korra. I don't mean that like Korra as a character is horrible or that Korra is weak or anything but everything outside of that main plot is good.
The side characters are good when they aren't being used as just completely retarded comic relief, the fights are good when they're not filler for the main plot, and the villains are cool ONLY when they aren't going "HAHA THIS IS MY PLAN VILLAIN I AM".
Like the Red Lotus this season had cool fucking fights and were fun when they were bantering and shit but the second they start up with "haha this is how we will gain the true freedom muhahaha" it's fucking dumb and pointless and look I'm back in a kid's show I forgot for a moment.
If you removed the abysmal main plot and got competent writers you'd be good to go.
Everyone likes Varrick, everyone enjoys Mako and Bolin doing slum adventures, Mako being a detective was way more fucking interesting than Korra learning about dumb spirit bullshit.
It's only good when it's not "OH NO THE SPIRITS ARE OUT OF BALANCE AND THE AVATAR AND THE BIG LOOMING THREAT AND THE BIG DARK SPIRIT ABOOGABOO".
>Tenzin's daughter can see spirits and astral project into the spirit world while he can't
>a terrorist who couldn't even airbend two weeks ago masters the ultimate airbending technique that everyone thought was a myth
Why does Korra feel dead inside instead of Tenzin? His whole life is one giant failure to accomplish anything he set out to do.
Magical Lion Turtles gave groups of people bending and to have bending you have to either be born from those people or wait for the planets to align so you can get powers for free.
>HERE IS MY DAUGHTER WHO IS AN AIRBENDING MASTER AT THE AGE OF 12 SHE WILL NOW HELP LEAD THE NOBLE AIRBENDERS TO BE ROVING BANDS OF FUCKING BOUNTY HUNTERS AND SECRET POLICE AND SHIT
>SHE HAS DONE MORE THAN I HAVE BOTH IN TERMS OF LIFE LONG GOALS AND BEING COMPETENT AT THE CRAFT I HAVE PRACTICED ALL MY LIFE
>HERE IS MY BRIGHTEST PUPIL SHE IS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND RETARDED
I feel like that's my problem with korra
There's no big bad in the story like the Fire Nation in TLA, just a new villain per season and I don't feel like I have something to root against
Well it's not like Tenzin can just fucking kill his four kids and wife, the avatar, his brother and sister and his new airbending tribe to let go of all his worldy posessions.
What were Ghazan, Ming'hwa and P'Li's development?
Actually, nevermind them. What was Bolin's fucking development? And don't say lavabending. Pulling a new superpower out of your ass isn't character development. What has developed in Bolin's character that has made him more than just the borderline retarded comic relief that he was in season 1? Absolutely nothing.
>first scenes is just a still of zaheer being moved across the background
> when korra gets thrown at the rock her tumbling does match the slow panning of the background.
it just looks dumb man.
Did they say when the Korra game wa suppose to take place?
Given how season 3 ended. They could easily give you an excuse for being shit despite being the fucking demigod of Order, Avatar.
