Let me explain: all classes feel different, heavy emphasis on cooperation, pretty good upgrade system (IMO). It's still a shit RPG mixed with platforming elements though, and by shit I mean armors only give you better stats and the whole combat doesn't rely on skills and more on end-game gear. Quest system is talk to X, kill Y amount of enemies. Some jump quests here and there mixed with themed-dungeons.

It's combat is fun, impactful, and pretty varied among all classes, there are parries and combos and you are generally not just pressing 1 button like a retard

When it comes to pay2win bullshit, it's not as apparent as in other nexon games until much much later in the game, and the only thing you can pay for is cosmetics early on, if you want to be autistic about armor sets.

Started playing DarkBlood Online yesterday, tits related.

It's... okay. It's like if TERA was a beat 'em up mixed with a Diablo clone.
Combat's flashy and functional but the controls take a few minutes to get used to since it was made to be played with an arcade stick, of all things.

The most fun healing that I've ever had in video games was as a pre-functionality-change Life Sheath monk in GW1 (if we can call that healing) and the Medic in TF2. TF2 healing is shittons of fun, though, because you can actually participate in fights and because of how much movement and positioning plays into the game. Long range arrow healing is also amazing.

It's honestly hard to believe the same people that made GW1 made GW2. GW1 nailed the combat so well. It did what they said they wanted to do for GW2. At a glance you could tell what condition, if any, an enemy was suffering from, and most important spells were visually distinct and easily recognizable without cluttering the whole screen. Energy, weapon swaps, dual classing with a single primary attribute all added depth that allowed for skilled and creative play. Skill pool was large enough that when they nerfed something to shit a solid meta would emerge in no time.

And they just turned it all to shit in 2. Unbelievable.

Prophecies - The first game released, originally titled Guild wars, the prophecies moniker was later added when they realized that instead of releasing free content like most MMO's, they could just repackage the same game but give it a different backdrop. More or less this. MMOs in general are an exercise in converting the adventures that one players in a TRPG into an active, non-turn-based system. Only trouble is that the MMOs which became commercially successful were the ones that more or less slapped on a lot of the turn-based mechanics onto this new active system without any wiggle room for imagination and then expected everything to turn out alright.

What that spawned was a game that forced the illusion of choice onto players and produced PvE and PvP encounters that mimic the type of interactions in rock-paper-scissors. MMO is a genre that honestly probably just probably ahead of its time in terms of ambition--it's effectively the fetal alcohol baby born a month early of the gaming world. The reason we have shit like .hack, Log Horizon or any other "online action adventure RPG series" is because the only way that we can truly imagine a well-made MMO--that is to say a game that combines the creativity and choice of a TRPG with the active feel of an action game--is in fiction.

MMOs as they exist now are effectively glorified rock-paper-scissor matches in PvP and a social chat room in PvE.
