I personally reccomend Pan's Labyrinth and Mama to get a feel of how Silent Hill would be like from Del Toro. Those are his two scary movies that I know of. Although Pan's Labyrinth isn't as much of a horror movie as it is a thriller. It's pretty good, I recommend it.

I also personally loved Pacific Rim, a big mecha kaiju movie. Would also recommend it.

Wasnt a fan of Blade or Hellboy though, so I cant talk about those.
