You must post in this thread if you ever ran with your arms behind you because you thought you would go faster.
Nope. I ran cupping the air thinking it would propel me forward.
I did it because Sonic did it and it was cool, I knew it didn't make me go any faster.
yeah. And I only did it ONCE, after school on my way home, and when no one was around.
I actually ran like double d in first and second grade
Hey man, at least you didn't made your dad spend a lot of money on a pair of ugly glasses just because you thought it would compliment your personality and look cool on you
Nope got yelled at in school to much. Weirdly enough once I got to high school I wore it all the time. No one said much.
Lets not even talk about my first glasses anon. Holy shit I went through a long hair period in middle school and looked like a girl. even more so with the glasses.
I can't exactly remember how I looked like back then, other than a complete fool, I was so ashamed of it, you know what I did? I took every single picture taken in 2005/2006 that had me in it and destroyed it, thankfully we didn't took pictures that often.
But it makes you faster, that's basic aerodynamics!
The arms alter the flow of air akin to a plane's wing or airdrop to reduce drag.
I meant 'water drop'.
At speeds Sonic is running drag will be a considerable problem, both in the air and on the ground. Even for humans when running extremely fast it's a notable hinderance.
The question is, does Sonic really need to do it? He already moves super fast, and considering he often holds back on his speed so Sonic Booms don't destroy everything in sight, waving his arms around wouldn't seem like an issue
Did it once.
But just to be clear:
Sonic runs like this because at the speeds hes going it is no longer advantageous to move your arms like he does when hes not at top speed. I mean his legs move faster than his arms, and aerodynamics would hold him back if he kept arm motion, so he just lets them hang back.
>200 meter dash
>love sonic games
>engage sonic position
(at the speed of sound)
>look like pic related
>but only for the beginning
>then at the end extend my body again
>mfw it actually helped
>mfw i won
>mfw my picture got put in the yearbook
>mfw got grills
Anyone else try to flap their arms to stay in the air? I used to try to double jump too
Wow I thought this thread was already pretty autistic but there you go bringing actual physics into it and just wow man.
That's the question though, are Sonic's legs the only part of his body that moves fast? I think the awnser to that question is that Sonic just put his arms backwards so he can rest them and put more effort on the leg part, he's not worried that his arms are gonna flail around because the wind/speed make them not fall
>Those dreams when you think you're falling or tripping over
>you wake up feeling the same
Why would you do this to me brain
>Had friend who got a wii at launch
>Disappeared for a couple of months
>Came back running like sonic with his arms back
>Literally claimed it made him run faster
>He was sprinting at my jog speed when we were roughly equally fit
When I was 6.
Even used to do the foot-tapping thing. Stopped bretty quickly though.
There was a kid in my year in Secondary school who did it all the way up till Year 11. Last I checked he never stopped. He's 21 now.
No, but I did sometimes run like pic related.
Must have looked like a huge faggot
Luckily I had asthma and didn't run much anyways.
I was doing it because of Naruto
And the fact that we were playing Naruto
I wasn't allowed over his house again because I was getting too "Aggressive" with the Rasengan with his sister.
I remember that level 1 rasengan like it was yesterday; and that build up, oh that build up.
I mean yeah she had a little blood come out of her mouth but its not like she died from it or anything.
