>Final Boss is bullshit hard
Also Fighting game bosses are Artificial Difficulty
I hope you aren't saying Armstrong is bullshit hard
>Final boss health halfway down
>I'LL SHOW YOU MY TRUE POWER
>Health Bar fills up again
>Beat Boss again
>Health Bar Fills up again
>Why won't he fucking die
>QTEs in game
>it doesn't even matter if you participate in them, you can't fail
Why does Sony let David Cage make games when he hates video games
>tfw best villain in Halo is kinda killed off with qte
You almost had me there.
>final boss dies in a cutscene
>its actually pretty good because your character beats them through logic and minor details given throughout the game instead of brute force
Vanillaware is so good they can even make that thing good.
>Final boss is easiest in game
>It's even more of a horrific letdown when the penultimate boss is the hardest
>game has an awesome boss batte
>you want to tell all your friends to play it based on this one fight
>holy shit it's not even the final boss, well if X was that good then Y must be amazing
>final boss is a shitty disappointment
Fuck you Dragons Dogma and fuck you Demons Souls
>Final Boss is just a reskin
>implying this is bad
>would rather shoot/hit some guy for 15 minutes with the same mechanics you've been playing with for hours
>instead of having an epic, well choreographed final battle
>final boss is just a conversation
>the entire conversation boils down to "you are bad", "no", and then he dies
Either you kill him mid-speech, or that fucking cockgoblin Reaver kills him, mid-speech.
I wanted to hear his speech and then beat the fuck out of him for like a minute. Why does that shitking Reaver get to kill him? I could kill Molyneux.
>beat the everloving shit out of the boss
>doing it absolutely perfect
>MC is now bleeding, wheezing and generally fucked up
>Boss is easy
>Literally dies in a couple hits
>Have to fuck around if you want to hear full soundtrack
>Kick their ass
>They one hit defeat you in a cutscene afterwards
>They then brag and insult how weak you are
>Final boss has qte's of his own
>He begins failing them
I'll get shit for this but this nignog took me two hours to beat in MK9's story mode.
>Have to dodge its charge attack
>It crashes into something
>You can only hurt it when its stunned
>Final Boss has some bullshit where you can't lose
>Penultimate Boss requires you to put all of your skills acquired in the game to defeat
>final boss ending monologue
>"we are a lot a like, you and I!"
>Get to the final boss
>It's dramatic as fuck
>"Press X to win fight"
>Everything fades out and everyone dies
>"Press X or Y to receive good/bad ending."
>nearing the end of the game
>no enemies for a while
>reach room full of weapons/health items and a big ass door
>final boss is fought normally but as soon as he dies you must complete a QTE. If you fail, he doesn't die and regains health
>final boss is significantly easier than regular encounters before him
Why, D:OS? Just why?
>Final Boss halfway down
>he starts powering up
>expecting some monstrous super form
>he just throws away his sword and starts beating the shit out of you with his bare fists instead
>AHAHAHA FAGGOT NO
>Boss is Revived
>AHAHAHA FAGGOT NO
>Boss is Revived
>AHAHAHA FAGGOT NO
>Boss is Revived
>AHAHAHA FAGGOT NO
>Boss is Revived
>Turns out some faggot was reviving it
>final boss can use all of your party's best moves
>final boss is a extremely long QTE with platforming inbetween
>Beat final boss
>Turns out he wasn't the final boss
Whoops. Let me try that again.
Who called my name?
>Game forces you to beat all the previous bosses again to reach the final boss
>Final Boss is a flirt
>Tries to seduce you the entire battle
I didn't know I could feel this much disappointment at once.
It's like opening a bottle of pepsi only to find it's full of
. . .- piss
>final boss can only be hurt following one of his attacks
>still keeps using it after the first couple of times
I didn't read the thread before posting that, sue me.
Or better yet, if you're after original posts, perhaps you should be trying to find them in original threads?
>Boss takes reduced damage or becomes invincible when you bring it to certain HP milestone
>Mandatory events and QTEs keep interrupting the fight
>Killing the boss too fast gives you shit rank
>Killed off with a forced QTE
Metal Gear Rising is such a piece of shit.
>final boss is really fucking hard
I'm getting my shit wrecked so badly
>Best villain in the pre-343i lore.
Probably. In Halo 4 he's shallow as fuck.
>"muh hate for hoomans"
No, it was a shitty QTE with a pretty bad cutscene. I wanted to run, gun and punch the shit out of the bad guy.
Just died at 700/6000. Fuck this game so much.
>DLC Boss is better than the Final Boss in every way and would have meen a much more fitting fight
>Final boss can ambush you
>If he does he'll OHKO your whole team with a move he'll only use if you take too long to kill him
>if you get hit by one of the final boss' attacks he'll use that one more often from then on
>boss can only be harmed after he performs a certain move
>he repeats the move
The final boss of Far Cry 3 was
>Dramatic poker scene
>You're about to die
>It fades out
>Somehow engage in a QTE knife fight
>It fades back in
>Everyone is dead
>Go back to see your friends
>Press X for good ending
>Press Y for bad ending
>Beat the main antagonist
>Alright, that's the game
>JUST KIDDING THE REAL FINAL BOSS IS SOME FUCK THAT WAS BARELY TALKED ABOUT!
Well in fairness ??? was hype as shit whereas the usual example, Yu Yevon, just felt... awkward. Like, it couldn't decide if it wanted to be a cinematic unlosable fight like ??? or Shirtless Sephiroth, so it kinda half-assed it by giving you auto-life.
>Antagonist's right hand kills antagonist
>Takes the seat and gets the power the antagonist wanted
>proceeds to win the game
>You beat him afterwards.
I liked this, and it's obvious to read what game I talked about.
The campaign was ok, but it left a lot to be desired and they fucked up the lore
He's 7'9" with this suit on (I think)
I'm thinking she was trying to break the ice by cracking a joke and it was just unfortunate writing in the game.
>Play oath in felghana on hard because /v/ told me to
>Get my shit wrecked hard, can barely pass through the second dungeon
>Considering to restart on normal
I don't want to go through that fucking mine again
It was actually a reference to Escape from new york/LA
Everyone in EFNY comments on Snake being dead while in the sequal everyone comments on his height "i thought you would be taller"
In halo 4 everyone up to this point thinks you were dead until whatshername makes the height comment
It was supposed to be a joke about how RPG protags always let the villain monologue when they should just shoot him in the face and be done with it. You fight his war machine, break into his sanctum, and stop his ritual. He immediately asks you to wait so he can explain, at which point you regain control and he dies in one hit (although you can combo him a bit before he falls if you like). Or you can just stand there (like a LEMON) and let him talk, at which point Reaver slowly recovers, stands up with his wounds, looks at him, looks at YOU with a look of disgust and confusion, then just shoots the bastard.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did YOU want to kill him?" he says, probably with a tacit addition of "wanker".
Similar shit happens in Fable if you let Jack's mask monologue until its entire speech is finished, you automatically succumb to the mask because you didn't just fucking chuck it in the lava as soon as you were done with it like any sane person would have.
It's a shit joke, I know, but the joke is don't let villains talk. Something Asura's Wrath did better.
Yeah that is kind of messed up. But I guess they really wanted him for 3 despite being able to just make up a new goddamn character since he's changed so much by then into some sort of clockwork orange / headmaster / pink floyd reference.
Honestly I would have been fine with killing him in 2 and him showing up in 3 with some stupid excuse. It would be in his character for him to sell his soul for a second chance or something like that.
>Jump straight into the second hardest difficulty on Oath in Feleghana
>Manage to beat it after two weeks of spending basically all my free time playing it
Worth it though. I'm never touching a Ys game again for the sake of my own sanity.
>get challenged to play volleyball with some sandniggers
>if you win, you obtain the map to reach the next area
>if you lose, you must redo the whole level again
>no option to pick up the map from the dead grasps of the sandniggers
>You're supposed to escape from the boss
>Stay and fight anyways
>Super tough fight, but still win
>Get a shitton of exp, money, and some high end equipment that you wouldn't normally find until near the end of the game
>Every boss could be the final boss
>Each boss evolves based on how the last boss battle went
>Armor thickens where it got destroyed the most
>Getting hit by a weapon causes future bosses to use more of that type of weapon
Warning Forever is fucking glorious for this shit.
>boss you're supposed to lose to
>he compliments you
Everybody's suddenly "favourite game now that sequel is exclusive" Tomb Raider does this
>Final boss uses some bullshit mechanic that was either useless for the whole game or only exists during that one fight
>That was only his first form
>The rest of the fight doesn't use that at all and is fucking awesome
>Get to final boss after fighting my way through mechs, fallen gods, demons, and giant beasts
>Final boss is a normal guy that goes on a long speech about power
>Starts doing some power-up thing, expect him to turn into a monster
>He instead saunters over and punches you in the face.
Too bad he become a monster in the second and third forms.
>boss doesn't turn into a monster or anything
>just fights you mano-a-mano
>and by mano-a-mano I mean he takes on your whole 18-strong army plus summon solo
>Boss gets 3 health bars
>dies in one punch
>Uses a mechanic that was used once, twenty levels ago and is made more bullshit
>Can't break guard without getting countered
>Getting hit takes off half your health
>Have to trigger a specific part of said mechanic even though nothing in the game required you to do that, in order to do damage reliably
>Spawns shitloads of minions that throw projectiles while requiring you to dodge said mechanic, otherwise you need to somehow deflect three fast moving bombs that can't be blocked and take off a third of your health
>The game went from 4 great starting levels, into 4 better levels, into 4 good levels, into 4 annoying levels, into 4 absolutely bullshit levels, into 4 godlike levels, into 2 good levels and 2 rage inducing loads of shit that you don't even want to play
I hate you, Kung Fu Strike
>think you have to only beat 3 bosses in a fight
>look into the distance
>there are 20 more bosses waiting to fight you
>try hanging on to the helicopter that flies to Liberty Island
>mfw it actually works and the sequence became piss easy
PC version adds a command that lets your healers kill enthralled unions and revive them on your side, makes the fight many times easier because you no longer need to babysit every union.
>Secret boss that has a chance to appear as a random encounter in a certain area
>You're not supposed to even be able to win unless you come back way later
>You run into him like 6 times before leaving that area
