Left 4 dead 2 has a pretty good gore engine, killing floor 2 is supposed to have the gore engine crafted so that you can do raiden style slashing on everything. Dead Rising 2 had a fun amount of gore

There's brainbread, a probably dead HL zombie mod that had its own gore engine, and being made by germans, had it where blowing off zombies head caused a literal explosion of blood everywhere.

Even though Raiden had white blood in MGS4, that was because it was a different type of blood that was used to regenerate Raiden's health, it worked fast in repairing the body's structure. It also required health canisters to store it in his body, thus slowing Raiden down. So Docktor took the liberty of removing the storage containers in the new body, and used the "good enough" red blood to make sure Raiden was lighter on his feet, effectively making him a quicker killing machine.

So, for the sake of censorship, they fucked with the canon, pretty funny. At least it's not a vital plot point.

Fatal Frame could be really gory if they put on screen what actually happens in the backstories.

Rope Ritual sacrifice in 1 involved tying ropes to a shrine maiden's limbs and neck and pulling until they were all torn off simultaneously.

Failed shrine maidens in 3 would be skinned alive after being old style tattooed all over their body and their skins displayed in a room.

Original OVA series was a 12 parter. There was a new 26 episode OVA which apparently is more in line with the manga than the 12 part OVA. The manga is actually still ongoing which is rather impressive.

My grandpa and I watched Predator, Aliens and Guyver together often when I was a child. Guyver was great except for when Shawn lost the control module. Him being regrown scared me big time. That's not all there is to it. I always thought Manhunt had an awesome 80's slasher atmosphere to it, with it's John Carpenter inspired soundtrack, dark, derelict city and a bunch of other things. It's also pretty intense if you're playing without the radar, and the gunfights, something people criticize a lot, makes this game one of the first cover based shooter, and it's actually hard because you take 3 hits and you're out.

Nah it's still pretty much an 80's(maybe 90's too) manga. The style of the artist is quite distinct at preserving itself.

Also quickly skimming through turns I was wrong in that she isn't actually Guyver II but rather a she's using an artificial control medalallion that was made from the data provided by Guyver II. And because it's artificial it doesn't bring her clothes back, very clever clause.

Both the Guyver ova series and Tv series got dubbed.

The Ova series makes a lot of changes to the source.(Manga.) So it's not the best. However it's still fun 90s anime. So, it's definitely worth the watch. Especially since it's really bloody. The newer anime makes minor changes but it's less bloody. It also skips a lot of stuff. Mainly in the last couple of episodes. It's still quite enjoyable.
