>one lone nip makes a cuhrazier, more hardcore game than DMC4
Are you even trying Crapcom?
>holy shit this combat is bad
>only two attacks do anything? what the fuck?
>what's the point of this sword drawing attack, it doesn't chain into anything...
>why is this taking so long?
>give you ridiculously overpowered easily spammable moves
>realize this was a mistake
>make every enemy parry your shit
>now the high level game is just sitting still and hitting B whenever someone attacks
>can beat final boss just by hitting B four times without moving
>deeper than DMC4
kek Steam has better indie games than this shit
forgive me, I'm used to shitty modern games where the tutorial is a far too long patronizing mess that just tells you obvious button mapping.
I was obviously wrong this time.
Both Astebreed and Mitsuragi Kamui have taught me the value of a succinct tutorial.
It's really not that good.
It's got really shitty mobility, trashcan enemies (except the Knights, they're pretty cool), bosses are uninteresting and easy as fuck, don't require skill but are more or less puzzle bosses (I'm not that far into the game, just beat Suzuka), moves are limited and you end up just spamming your Iaijutsu shit because that does the most damage and then chaining into a hand-to-hand to see if you have to parry or just do more Iaijutsu. If everyone's knocked too far, your Divine Wind into Headchopthing to close the gap and repeat.
This is on hard by the way.
I mean it's fun enough but it's not even close to DMC4 Bloody Palace or DMC3
I wouldn't say as much as "deep" combat, it just seems they forget to add any real weight to blows.
Like there's something just so satisfying about landing a Level 3 Great Sword Charge in Monster Hunter, or a lunging Ultra Greatsword attack in Dark Souls or a flourish type attack in this game or many others that Western games just never seem to do.
How do you do flourish consistently anyway? I can already do just guards almost all the time and yet I still can't get the timing on flourish right. I kinda sense that the timing for it is a little bit earlier than a just guard but is there any other hint or tips on how to do it?
I dunno, but it has really nice-looking characters for sure.
Oh, I see. Flourishes are pretty hard to do consistently for me. An occasional one here and there is the best I can do. Unfortunately, there's not enough to keep playing and "git gud" at it. Game needed, at the least, a few more enemies to keep it feeling interesting.
It suits Suzuka better. Both of them having thigh highs would be overkill.
If you look at it frame by frame it's pretty easy to decipher.
What do you see in this frame?
Is the game dead or are the dev(s) going to update it?
Also, deepest lore.
So the guy presses Holy Technique, keeps the button pressed in, and then starts doing normal attacks. Then because he got in a bunch of normal attacks when he releases the holy technique, the game registers each attack as a Holy Technique and unleashes a Level 2 of those for all the normal attacks?
It has potential but it's pretty hollow. Good for a quick play here and there but nothing long term like the DMC games. It could do with a Vergil mod actually.
She uses her sheath as well as her sword to attack?
>forced controller faggotry
It's on the buyers remorse list. Why can't the KB/M controls be like MGR?
It takes skill, but saying it's better than DMC because flashy stuff is happening is retarded, there's a reason why people talk about DMC the way they do, but I know he's just another /v/ poster so fuck him
>saying it's better than DMC because flashy stuff is happening is retarded, there's a reason why people talk about DMC the way they do
Yeah, because flashy stuff is happening. Hang around DMC threads some times.
>can't run the game in full screen at a resolution higher than 1280x720
>no support for 16:10 resolutions
>no instant mutilation
how about no
Go buy a Mac next time. It just werks just like a console.
DMC3's way deeper than this game, and from a programmatic standpoint and artistic standpoint is superior in every fathomable way.
Also it wasn't just one guy that made this. He had help.
Watch this >>257123617
The programmer was so lazy that he couldn't even bother to add animation interpolation. They jerk between each other into their various poses.
It's good in its own right, but come on OP.
The only good thing in that game is the MC and her alt outfits that were actually beautiful and sexy.
Aside from that it's very shallow and boring.
I know we're all craving for a new proper DMC but don't be stupid.
God fucking damn flourish pisses me off so much, its the only reason I cant play this stupid fucking game for more than 10 minutes at a time.
There is no way to make it work reliably it is bullshit fuck this
is /v/ praising a game again because it has waifus? Cause I got this game for free and I think it's repetitive shit. I sold the cards for like 30 cents each though so that's ok. Got me a Skullgirls key for the ToD that I bought with the money from the cards and now I have a game with actual depth.
AAll woman are now waifus?
It was better than DmC, but then I got all the skills and it suddenly became more gauge management than actual cuhrayzee
Pretty disappointing, but I had a blast for more than 10 hours, which is more than I can say to most indies
Gameplay is fine and all, but this is one incredibly repetitive game. After about 1 hour of playing it i felt like my soul was completely drained and i had a few less years to live.
Croixleur Sigma is the superior japanese indie beat em' up game.
Is there a way to mod this thing? Getting some custom enemy models or arenas would be fucking sweet!
are you fucking serious, this game is repetitive as fuck and and isnt even close to DMC4
you literally fight the same waves of enemies each stage and then you get to the end boss which was pretty fun because it was actually different
Eh.. Flourish seems to have harder timing as opposed to just guard, but that might just be psychological. Other than that, flourish is superior in every way opposed to just guard/counter. Except maybe it's riskier, but used successfully there's no reason to not flourish. Unless if you're grinding hits or something.
Those would be called moves. That's it provides, just about three additional moves per weapon or a block or dodge function. Had Crapcom developed the game a little smarter they could have fit all those moves in without having to mess with styles to begin with.
Too many people got hung up on the term "style" without actually thinking about the game. It's frightfully silly.
>one lone nip makes a cuhrazier, more hardcore game than DMC4
This is the stupidest bait I've seen on here in a while. The combat in the game is shallow and there's almost no enemy variety. It's fine for $2 or whatever it's going for, but it's pretty shit in comparison to most full fledged action games.
that was the express purpose. To melt the styles into the control scheme, which is what happened. The number of moves is irrelevant, everything but Royal guard is in DmC, and RG is replaced by doing demon/angel dodge
I am not saying anything factually incorrect, please do not try to twist this around or turn this into a debate over quality
