nobody knows the "X"
let's guess what this is, shall we?
Oh there is another page with nobody knows the "D".
So, the "2" was the EO2 remake.
Can we expect 2 others EO-like games ? Wasn't there like a SMT/EO kind of game in development ?
Strange Journey was like EO and Persona Q came out in japan recently.
I really like Untold, it fixes stuff from the old game and you can play the classic mode so it's literally the DS one but extremely polished. Story mode helps you get some classes for Classic mode though.
The story mode is okay, it's nothing you haven't seen before but the characters are nice enough and if you can't handle regular Etrian imagination whatever then it's cool. It's also much less broken than EO1 and not as tedious as it could get, although it sort of sucks that they lock out content from the story mode in classic mode.
As far as remakes go it's good
>EO4 untold in 2 year's time
whoa shit son.
Story is decent. You get some new enemies and an extra dungeon full of new bosses.
It's pretty much a polished EO1 with multiple difficulty settings.
It takes two years for each title so this one fills the gap
I dont know if its just me but does anyone feel like the remakes are necessary? I mean theres no big story and theyre all straightfoward pus the mechanics/gameplay in the original releases are perfectly fine so why?
>Atlus already said they will be releasing two EO games every year
Great, they're milking EO now too. Except it's not popular enough so fatigue will quickly set in and destroy the series' selling power.
>tfw i only played EOU because of the story
i dont know i really cant get into regular EO games since naming and creating classes/parties is really tedious for me and EOU pretty much set up that stuff for me
>inb4 filthy casual
Famitsu is teasing a new gameplay system where the main character can "transform" in battle
I hope this is reason enough for some company to pick these up.
>Not superior purple Princess
they blew it
In the doomed land of High Lagaard, guided by Fate
the destined princess wakes the Fafnir knight.
When the Doom awakes and darkness fills the world,
Fafnir attains his true form and swings his golden sword.
Princess Arianna (Risa Taneda)
Ranger Flavio (Daichi Namikawa)
Paladin Bertrand (Keiji Fujiwara)
Doctor Magus Chloe (Yuka Iguchi)
[Fafnir?] Hero (Hikaru Midorikawa)
Atlus isn't very good at the whole "don't put spoilers in trailers" thing.
Hey Anon, I'll solve your imagination problem for you.
EOII - IV takes place in the future and your party members are descendants of the cast from EO:U. Name and choose the proper portrait for them accordingly.
There you go.
Da Coon was the best.
Anyways the Edgemaster form isn't really selling me. unless everyone else can transform we're gonna get another protag with super special class. Which in turn will probably suck fucking cock like highlander.
Jesus christ, this is my favorite game in the series, and they are going to desecrate it with this untold shit.
I was thinking buying Untold 1 when it went cheaper, but now no, unless I right out pirate it I am not playing this shit.
They are already doing the same things they did for the first one, showing spoilers, obvious bad choice on forced class set ups in shitty pre made character , and some added dark and edgy junk.
It is 100% obvious that there won't be an EO5, at least not one without this bullshit. They had gone down in quality with EO4, but they still did more good than harm with some changes.
This is just going full retard.
Fuck you, Diaper loving child fucking fox, this is the only vidya I look forward to actually paying and playing along, now it's just another one of the pile of shit catering to retards.
I could have sworn you've made this exact same post in a previous EO thread
Next thing I know you're going to start complaining about how "they shouldn't have made you pay full price for half a game" because "classic doesn't count" somehow
nah dude, the baseline game would had been great, but the tacky adventure with some shitty characters is something I am not going to pay for, even if it's "bonus content", I'd rather not support it.
I really want to buy all the EO games, I love them ever since I played the first one on emulator and went out of my way to find a sealed copy of it.
>Another Pyro Jack instead of Jack the Ripper
A remake of only a few years old game with additional story elements no one asked for. But, it has lolis and waifus so 10/10 GOTYAY and anyone who disagrees with me is an SJW.
They're not that common and most of them consist of the girls being defeated and raped so hard they become slaves to the monsters that raped them with the leader of the group lasting the longest before she sees the rest of her group are cum addicted sluts and then she finally succumbs to the pleasure and becomes impregnated by the big bad.
>the first EO was a total balance mess actually
I can understand this sentiment. Immunize is extremely OP, and I want to really kick the translator in the ass as more than a few descripts on skills are outright wrong, or duplicated.
Raising a Ronin on just that is a pain in the ass. Further, the Radha Hall index doesn't show enemy weaknesses once you put them in. That's just bloody lazy. I shouldn't have to wiki that shit.
2 was buggy as fuck in the japanese version as well.
Skills that raised evade actually lowered your accuracy.
The entire Iai line for Ronins was coded badly
Along with Ronins never actually having a working Katana Mastery passive since that was supposed to use the highest rank out of Iai/Overhead/Seigan (this one carried over the the NA/EU release).
And that's not even getting into things like the game itself being badly balanced.
>Endgame of EO2
>2 Hexers spamming Revenge
>1 Protector spamming Painless
>2 whatever the fuck stuffing Boost recovery items down the Protector's throat
The game bugged on a quest where ever turn ticks the encounter rate.
There's also the misinformation given at a quest by that bird dude in the translated version which specifies a different floor.
EO2, as much as I love it, is a buggy piece of shit. Though I learned to love hexer because of EO2.
Oh shit son Im HYPE.
but wheres my EO5?
>troubadour throwing stamina for max HP increase
>who the fuck cares
>Climax if its weak to OHKO, Ecstasy if not
Running Dark Hunter, Hexer and Gunner on the same team was enough to break EO2 into pieces.
EO5 is unlikely since Lancarse left. They helped with strange journey, eo1 and 2. Atlus did smt4 as well as eo 3 and 4 on their own, and I coincidentally did not like them as much.
I think Atlus lost their touch after focusing so much on
No. Don't tell me this, anon. I was hoping for Ronin to be better in 2. I'm still on 1. They're made of paper. Paper canons that smack hard but still FUCKING paper. Also Seigan & Overhead is the same boost?
Goddamn I wish I knew code enough to crack the game and find the value equations so I can see what skill does what modify before & during battle
Ronins are better in 2. They don't have to deal with stances any more and shit like Midareba is one of the most reliable forms of dealing damage in the game.
The cookie cutter team is DWRGH
>Whip 10, Atk 10, all binds to 5
>whips coming out the walls in this new stratum
>hits harder than knight & ronin to both mooks & bosses
>Accidentally the Golem mission without thinking about it
>But binds never actually bind
>No can use Ecstasy
>Climax never, ever hits
Why can't I blow my load all over these option/stratum bosses?
I don't think they can handle it on their own anymore and I'm starting to think Atlus feels the same way.
I disagree, sorry. Wasn't fond of subclassing, limits, or lack of poles. Also I don't really care for eo3 or 4's overworld with boat/airship.
And also my fetish.
I can't stand every single additional feature in EOU.
EOU is an amazing game to me, due to the fact that I cannot even think of a single nice thing to say about it. Even with TLOU or Titanfall I can find a nice thing to say, I can't with EOU.
>I don't think they can handle it on their own anymore and I'm starting to think Atlus feels the same way.
I disagree, I liked EO 3 and 4 better than the first games because they had a more interesting and varied class systems and weren't as obscenely broken. SMT IV wasn't as good as SJ but it also wasn't the same kind of game, and at least it was a whole lot better than Nocturne.
I can dig that. The only two things I really can't get off to is
hardcore betrayal/deceptionand lovey dovey stuff that's so cute it's hard to see as sexual.Regardless I'm looking forward to eo2u and whatever it brings with it.
>Shitty forced story
>Shitty forced cast
>Constant spoilers for the original story so we can focus on the shitty new story they forced in
>Unlockables for classic mode are tied to story mode
>Constant cutscenes interrupt dungeon crawling
I don't get it, EOU was made by a company with tons of experience in great dungeon crawlers and is a remake of a great classic, Demon Gaze did everything EOU tried, but 10 times better.
And Demon Gaze was a literal turboweeb pandering dungeon crawler with tons of fanservice and sex jokes. It somehow had a skill system that was similar to the Grimoire system, but wasn't shitty. It had a forced protagonist, and party creation together. Dungeons weren't chock full of cutscenes, but still had a story going on. And despite being an incredibly budget game, the Artifact skill system allowed you to so all sorts of crazy stuff instead of EOU and it's bland as fuck Grimoire system.
It's being fancy. In the foundation of context, both Troubador and Bard are inaccurate for the game's class role, although Bard is actually more accurate due to the mutation of the accepted definition of the word in this modern world we live in.
Hexer is actually simplistic and entirely accurate. It takes a verb and adds an occupational suffix to it. A hexer is a curse maker. Both are parallel and not using dated/fancy language. A hexer is a curse maker, but a bard is not a troubadour.
>EOU was made by a company with tons of experience in great dungeon crawlers
Like Demon Gaze? Also, I disagre about that game, the classes have nowhere near the amount of skills as in EO and the combat end up not being as interesting, the artifact system only allowed you to have one of each skill, so while it's overall better than the grimoire system it's also not as customizable. It's much easier than Untold even on the highest difficulty and the story sections ere more constant and intrusive than Untold. I thought it was really disappointing after Generation Xth.
I've given up on online co-op. I'm too autistic and only my few rl friends can put up with it. I'll keep the game title in mind, though. But why the rush? Gamespy died a few months, back—it's not like support's being pulled from anything else.
I'm excited, i absolutely loved EOU. I thought it was really well done, especially because you can choose between story and original mode.
The only EO I haven't played was the 3rd game because I don't own it, so I guess I should hold off if they make EOU3 too.
I hope the inevitable EOU3 keeps that Scylla exploit
Troubadours are composers and performers of poetry from the Mediterranean Middle Ages.
Bards are composers, and sometime performers, of poetry but instead from Celtic regions.
Minstrel would have been better than both but Troubadour is still more accurate than Bard for the role. Bard is only used because of its usage in D&D.
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 X
box One Exclusive
Bards were originally poets for families and their material were adjusted for such. They weren't used for epics and the like, but instead handed down tales found in the Finnian Cycle. The word use had degenerated to mean minstrel who sings ballads/epics/etc of all kinds—and also that D&D equivalent you mentioned.
Troubadours are also specialized in works of a romantic type—not exactly ones who go out seeking daring adventure in a forest labyrinth full of monsters. Now, if they make the skillset names far more lewd or flowery for the Bard, I'll have no complaints about it being called Troubadour.
Different anon here, would you recommend starting with EOU's original mode, or the original EO1 for someone looking to get into the series? I'm not worried about difficulty unless it's straight bullshit.
Did you really expect anything other than a remake of EO2 when they made that 2DX site a while back?
It's one of the stores that are always in the pre-order section of their games. Until some time ago they even had a separate section for Atlus games. So I guess they're at least approved by Atlus USA.
Landshark or Fortess would be kind of redundant when EO3 has classes that kinda do the same things.
The anime was so shit that everyone just wants to bury the series now.
Gunner and Princess weren't really all that unique in highsight considering that Gunner was a weird mix up class and Princess was buffing class.
I'd prefer to get Imperial or an Arcanist who's really a Deep One though.
>this means we get a remastered EOII OST like Untold's
Oh god yes
>an Arcanist who's really a Deep One though.
I could get behind this.
>This song remastered
