Kichikuou Rance's English patch will be released in September.
It was the first great game of the series.

It was made as a lumping together of all the ideas because Alicesoft were going broke and wanted to complete the series. But it sold millions so they were able to retcon it and expend the series.
It's not as deep as Sengoku (because it's from 1996 and covers their ideas for the whole series) but it's a lot broader in terms of setting.

To play it you'll want to have played or know what happens in the first four games but it so happens that they are all short and are translated.

Big Bang Age is the closest to Sengoku in terms of gameplay, it's a little more complex however, and it's a different universe, but it's still Alicesoft.

It's a different perspective but the meat is similar.

Rather than slug out like a JRPG in isolated battles, it takes place on the overworld per turn. More strategy to it since you need to take terrain into account but you might find it a bit mundane since it boils down to that and officer quality more than anything.
