The game seems to lack any sort of distinct art style. It seems impossible to tell what the weapons do from a glance, and the look of everything is so complex and noisy, identifying a target quickly will be hard due to them potentially blending into the background.

It's not a hacker paradise, which was part of my original point. Valve apparently does a decent job banning cheaters - who lose their 5-15 bucks when they get banned, which should discourage many. That effect isn't there in an f2p game, especially in a purely competitive one that doesn't require you to grind for tons of shit.
