I bought an xperia play when it was still new.

It's never broken so I've never replaced it, it has an extended battery too. Goes about a week between charges.

It plays anything up to gen 5.

Final Fantasy III, maybe the best game on Android. They remade the entire game in 3D and it's awesome, really really fun.

Square-enix has released all the NES and SNES Final Fantasy (the VI is the last one), also Dragon Quest VIII and other games made for android.

Rockstar has released GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, also Max Payne. But they're quite difficult to play with touch

Using that Sixaxis app on my G2 and a brand new Sixaxis controller i get about half a second input lag playing any game, PS1 emulated or native android. The controller is lag free when using it to navigate the phone.

Technically speaking. But any emulators have to handle the hardware AND software, so the performance is cut drastically no matter how powerful it is. Also, how goes it with the back facing lock/power button? I imagine that takes some getting used to.

Current gen phones are easily more powerful than the vita, but it depends on how well the games and emulators are optimized for the phone. And of course how much work a dev wants to put into a $7 app
