So Vendrick and Aldia split away to both find a way to cure the Curse: Vendrick looking into the essence of the soul and Aldia looking to dragons as they are immortal and therefore outside the cycle of death and rebirth.

The dragons, as the player proves, are not immortal. We kill Aldia (presumably) himself. Vendrick was looking for a cure for fuck knows how long and he failed.

I know the horse has been dead for months and I'm just beating at it more, but really, B-Team Souls had me devoted to my first playthrough.

The thing I hate most about Dark Souls 2 is that it has almost completely killed off discussion for Dark Souls. I only got the game in January so I feel like I've missed out big time on all of the threads and lore speculation and stuff.

My biggest regret in gaming is selling off my xbox 360 and missing out on Dark Souls for those first few months. I can't imagine just how much fun it would have been to play the game without knowing a bunch of stuff about it through osmosis.

The despawn is what made me realize how poorly Ds2 was put together. The shrine of amana is a good example. I found the best technique was to keep killing one or two enemies before dying until they ran out. It's as if they knew how bullshit some places were and put in that mechanic to make up for it.
Granted, this may have just been me doing poorly, but the fact that you can just grind through a level rather than overcome it is quite telling.

There needs to be something that sets the fight apart from battles with standard enemies, other than having a huge arena. Have some objects you need to interact with, maybe have to bait the boss into running into a pillar and make it crash onto their head or shit like that. All the bossfights in DaS were the same, or almost all of them.

Why the fuck is Smough supposed to be easier? His attacks have a fuck huge area of effect and he constantly deals shock damage that bypasses shield.
Ornstein is easier to dodge, his attacks have less AOE and you can dodge between his legs easier.

Orstein is the easier to fight in super mode.
