Pokefags always try to say "durrr u dont have to worry about EV/IVs ;)" because they already put the time in to work on perfect EV/IVed pokemon, so they don't want any competition.

The whole concept of pokemon needs to be revamped. All these stupid little rules and technicalities, like Gengar being weak to fucking bug pokemon, how on earth does that make sense? And why do we need rock AND ground pokemon? That's just redundant and the stupid little rules behind it make no sense. Oh, I'm sorry, you attacked this pokemon assuming it was a rock type, but it turns out it was actually a ground type and has an X4 resistance to your attack! Sorry! And why should there be ghost AND psychic? These dumb little technicalities don't really add anything of value to the game, and they force players to sit there and memorize stupid little rules and how they apply to each of the pokemon.

Not to mention the entire competitive scene of pokemon is based on RNG and rock-paper-scissors bullshit, rather than skill. AND before you're even allowed to play it competitively, you have to run around a tower for 500 fucking hours.

If something like that was in any game other than pokemon, it would get a 0/10 on metacritic.

All stats on a Pokemon have a hidden number assigned to them between 0-31, with 31 being the best. Getting 6 IV is essentially perfect stats, although most of the time you only need 5, unless you're going mixed between attack and special attack moves.

IVs are like Pokemon genes. They give 0-31 extra stats at level 100. A 6IV Pokemon is one with 31 in every stat.

Dittos caught in the Friend Safari always have 2 random stats at 31 IVs, and you can breed those stats forward to anything that Ditto can breed with. If you catch 3 Dittos that have maxed out different IVs, you can have a perfect IV Pokemon in 3-4 egg generations.

It's dull as fuck and only the tryhardest numbercrunchers bother doing it, but sadly it gives them a noticeable edge in online play, so most people who give any shits about online fall into doing it.
