Glorious Gurumin coming to Steam!
You can get the game free if you vot yes, join its group and say in the comments you voted for it.
>So what's so great about this game?
It's made by glorious Falcom, so you can expect a really good game.
Aw fuckin shit i remember that one, played on psp ages ago
I can't wait for the game!
>Gurumin gets greenlighted
>lots of interest for Gurumin shows up
>released, lots of sales magically happen somehow
>suddenly, a new Gurmin-related trailer is revealed
>it's the sequel to Gurumin in glorious HD named "Gurumin 2 - The Monstrosity Ensues"
>has amazing remix of "To Make the End of Digging", gameplay looks insane and looks fucking colorful as hell
>only for Wii U
How would you guys react?
>still ends posts with " ;) " and " "-Tom"
I always wanted to ask him about that but thought it'd seem rude
It's a Falcom game
If that doesn't signify anything to you then get the fuck out of my face
Forgive me, but I'm not quite sure what the importance of Falcom is here.
Are they an incredibly tiny publisher, or they only put out incredibly niche games, or what?
>let's give away games to build interest
>them launch a new game on another plataform
Smallish Jap dev
Been around since the 80s
Put out a bunch of really cool games like Ys
They have lots of cool PC games too, but only in Jap
People mad hype about more of it going in English
>faggots voting simply because they can get it free
>some underage cunt made a "LE VEE VOTE FOR FREE GAME HEH MONSOON AND MEMES SIMPLY EPIC" thread
>most people will never play it
I just want more Falcom games to come over here without cunts like these spoiling anything because you know it's going to happen.
So are they basically giving this away for free because they're being nice? This seems like the kind of game with a small fanbase, and since most of that fanbase will get it for free how will they make any money?
It's a twist on the Ys II opening obviously
I disagree, I don't think it matters what it is for. However, for the interest of digital archival, PC versions of games that are kept faithful to the creators visions are preferred.
like you're a good, honest man. I'll still get my free copy
and then buy an extra to give to some cunt
>the voice acting for the meido outfit
You most likely just need to vote and join the group, i don't think the comment is necassery
I'm so hyped for this. Literally all of my problems with Gurumin stemmed from the PSP's controls being kind of shitty, playing it with an actual gamepad will be a godsend.
Technically you still have to buy one, even if they give it to you for free.
Otherwise voting "Yes I would buy this game if it was on Steam" is being dishonest. I just now remembered that and bought Shantae: Risky's Revenge.
>mfw it will be Ys Seven all over again
Thanks fagget, now I know what I can expect
Does this mean Zwei!! will come to Steam if we show enough support for PC Falcom game releases? I'm too lazy to mount and run applocale for Zwei!! 1 and 2.
>Oh shit is that a new Drill Dozer?
>It's some shit other than Drill Dozer
There is no chance of FC getting released this month now, right?
I have to go somewhere without interned for gof knows how long and FC looked like the perfect timewaster.
>waiting for a proper release after SC
It's going to be a long wait indeed
Winter 2016 ;)
It's not illegal to lie, but it's still dishonest. Don't you have any honor, anon?
Do you think that the Wii U Pro Controller would be a good way to play this game?
6 months after FC, and you know this time delays won't happen
It seems an annoucement is coming "really" soon. If they do like they did with ys on Steam, TiTS will be released one or two weeks after the announcement.
You can always get the game on PSP and buy it later on Steam.
They said that at launch it wouldn't, but they'll try to add it down the road.
shouldn't be a problem for a fanpatch, honestly
> <Warning actual spoiler ahead.>
>mfw hovered over the spoiler anyway out of habit
>Played and completed the game a time ago
>Totally forgot about that twist
I don't know what to feel.
At least that explains why you fight the dragon after you kick the dark prince's ass
post more Gurumin because they're fucking kawaii
Look, one of SpaceDrake's friend posted in the thread.
>You can always get the game on PSP and buy it later on Steam.
But muh carryover between FC and SC
I still haven't completed seven because autism, I'll play that instead, muh chonological order be damned.
I also know enough spoilers about seven to make me curious, but not enough to ruin everything
There is a HUGE plotwist somewhere in the game.
I actually get a small spoiler and I thought it mean a character would die, but the real plotwist was WAY MROE THAN THAT PREPARE YOUR FUCKING ANUS GODDAMMIT WHY
The stick positioning bothers the hell out of me. It's like they went, "We can't put them both on the bottom 'cuz Sony, and we can't have them like the 360 'cuz Microsoft? Even though we did that on the Gamecube and it was literally the best gamepad we ever put out?"
God dammit it keeps happening
I'm gonna be broke buying all of these games.
>Gurumin Greenlight page
>Gurumin greenlight announcement section
>Gurumin steam group
>Every single board from 4chan
The carryover is so small that it doesn't even matter that much.
Estelle can start at a slightly higher level(max of 40) and the only carry over reward that's worth it is an item that you normally wouldn't get till end game that increases drop rate and you need max BP for that. Getting max BP is nearly impossible in TiTS unless you're using a guide because of all the all the easily missable shit that you have no way of knowing about normally, so chances are most people won't even get that.
So, this whole thing about the game being "censored" is just bullshit being thrown around to deceive people into thinking they got a inferior product?
SA admins hate loli and so does everyone in Somethingawful. People who openly admitted liking loli got perma banned.
Carpe Fulgur are 2 guys from SA, hold the same general line of thinking.
There was never really anything to censor to begin with. Using healing station she'd go mahou shojou naked a while with lights covering up everything. It really is a silly complaint.
Don't crucify me but, i don't really know much about games made by Falcom. Are they good? I see alot of people here giving good praise to their games, so are there "must play" games that they made?
I feel like there's some weird misunderstanding here. This guy >>253812063 mentioned "SpaceDrake's friend" as a joke, because SpaceDrake is part of Carpe Fulgur and they censored that bath scene in Fortune Summoners.
the worst Falcom can do is to make a good game instead of a life changing game
I wish Falcom girls gets more lewds, but at least their illustrations are getting the fun SoL type of fanservice.
>KAWAII AS STORY ABOUT IMAGINARY FRIENDS BEING REAL
>DRILLS THAT PIERCE THE HEAVENS
>THE BEST SHOP THEME IN THE WORLD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns9HAZkTVrQ
What do you think?
Ys Oath in Felghana
Go play it on hard its fun and has music
A lot of their games are must play, but you'll know them better by their Ys games.
I'm feeling the joy just form listening.
I don't know what you mean by "must play", but Ys 2 remake and Oath in Felghana are definitely up there for me. You have to play Ys 1 before 2, but 2 is a massive improvement over the first one.
That makes me feel like a kid, not in a bad way though.
You expect SJWs to use common logic or decency?
Why is Gurumin music so happy?
This game has an amazing soundtrack. Well, it's a Falcom game so that's no surprise but still.
It's a glorious start for Falcom fans everywhere
>good weeb games getting released on pc
THERE IS HOPE
>Game has a soundtrack that has it's own style
>Suddenly awesome song that clashes with the rest of the soundtrack
I love that shit.
They pulled the same shit on Xanadu next, soundtrack full of ambiental songs, and they pull a strongest foe tier song for the final boss.
I know this is slightly off-topic, but in the animated series Neon Genesis: Evangelion, the main character Shinji is always seen listening to the Ys soundtrack on his tapedeck.
The only problem is I can't remember which Ys game, and what songs.
>I know this is slightly off-topic, but in the animated series Neon Genesis: Evangelion, the main character Shinji is always seen listening to the Ys soundtrack on his tapedeck.
they just show him listen to some generic music player, never the name of the songs, and you never hear the songs themselves..
Anyone else love listening to game's soundtrack before playing the game? It gets me so hyped up
I don't make this stuff, just distribute it.
>Panty-tier slut parin
i have no idea if want
I think I just came. It's much better than Ys Celceta's Blast of Wind
one gurupill a day keeps the sjw away
You do, at least once, and but it's very soft and only for a few seconds.
I thought it might be important in the themes or whatever because it's always the same 2 tracks.
There you go
Thanks a lot man
Anon posted this one above, but i'll post here again. This is the shop theme:
I don't know about the rest but it semms pretty fun, if they're as fun as the shop theme i think we're in for great times.
Oh hell this is pretty good. I remember watching my friend play this like five years ago, and neither of us knew what was happening since it was in Japanese. I've been meaning to play it since then but I guess I'll vote yes and get it for free!
Oh man, these kinds of J-pop songs.. I miss them.
That singer reminds me of Megumi Hayashibara's beautiful voice, too.
>Megumi voiced Rei Ayanami
Blew my fucking mind so hard I never even realized it until years after I watched both Eva and Slayers.
"The two songs usually played on Shinji's SDAT are: Track 25 for "You are the only one" and Track 26 for "Blue Legend", respectively. The songs are from "Lilia from Ys", an image album for the "Ys" RPG series. The Vocalist is Kotono Mitsuishi, Misato's seiyu. However, Episode 02 has two Eva BGM pieces playing, while Episode 23 has a different vocal song for Track 25 instead."
From Evageeks. http://vgmdb.net/album/4584
heh I see what you did there
Honestly, I wonder if they might have underestimated the size of their fanbase. There's quite a few people who want more Falcom games on Steam. They seem to be doing this just to get it greenlit easier, even though it probably would have gotten greenlit quickly even without the free game offer.
I don't think I've ever heard more than 10 seconds of that. Reminded me of when I listened to "So Much For Today" on soundtracks and was amazed at how complex the track actually was. Also :
Is this a good falcom game like legend of heroes or a bad falcom game like Ys?
These pictures never have Nayuta in them.
My one friend insisted black people can swim but I never believed her.
Yeah saw some gameplay videos looks bad.
Couldn't people just play this on a psp emulator?
No, right now only Ys is on Steam but in the following years you'll start seeing more and more of their games on it, like the Trails games, Zwei games, Xanadu Next or Dinosaur ;)
Didn't notice that part of the image.
Who knows? It might get translated at some point.
I'm playing it right now and it's plenty of fun. Some minor complaints about the after story mode but otherwise it's pretty great. Made me interested in trying out the rest of the Kiseki series, though they aren't action games like Nayuta.
Would we get a
nude modof this game?
>Yeah, if we ever end up working on some of Falcom's older titles (like the Gagharv Trilogy, or Zwei!!, or Dinosaur, or Sorcerian Original), I fear for Sara's sanity. ;)
Xanadu Next is a must
Metroidvania/diablo with a actually fun combat system, and the story is pretty decent.
There are also older games like Vantage master and popful mail.
We are also getting brandish for the psp, and zwei 1 and 2 are supposed to follow.
I got mine from there, so yes.
REMEMBER TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THIS PATCH BEFORE APPLYING THE TRANSLATION
You're in a Falcom thread, man- you're among friends.
DL it, have a grand ol' time.
Yeah, Nayuta No Kiseki on the PSP.
>Xanadu Next takes the tired mold of Diablo, injects it with a Metroid-like world structure, Falcom-style action and Zelda-like puzzle solving (although there are a fair share of box puzzles, but we'll forgive them for that.)
Shit, this sounds top tier. Imma check this out, thanks anon.
I've actually already played the Sega CD version of that. Great game, though it wrecked my shit at some points.
She voiced a few other surprising characters
It's pretty import friendly if you don't care too much about the story because there are icons showing you were to go most of the time. Language itself isn't too hard but some parts can get very confusing. Also, It's a stand-alone and isn't connected to the rest of the games.
It's short and sweet, and it needs more fame.
The only problem is that there is almost no build flexibility, you fucking follow the gear's stat requirements or you are fucked.
Even pumping int and spamming magic gets you fucked because there is a magic inmune boss.
They just used the nayuta name to sell more, just like how they slapped the dragon slayer title to every game not called Ys on the eighties.
It's more of a Ys-esque game
Played on hardest difficulty on PSP and it wrecked my ass pretty hard, had to retry like 20 times against the first boss.
But if you manage to not get killed, things are somewhat easier.
>so Xseed is a publishing company for J-games?
>and they often censor them?
Not really. They did omit the ages from Senran Kagura Burst, but not much else. The censorship would have been much worse on that game if it wasn't for Tom.
I really wish everybody would stop falling over Tom's (and Hatsuu's) dicks or acting like they're XSEED themselves and not just employees. It's really annoying, even though I like both of them and XSEED as a whole.
Kind of funny that those who decry 'FOUL PEDOPHILE CONTENT' are the ones who look like the biggest pedophiles the way they actually think cutesy little fanservice is top of the line wank material.
There's a reason why they are so well liked. They are the only people standing up for content to speak for themselves and not trip and fall over social justice getting all upset and wanting to make censoring content a norm. They aren't the actual creators, but it's nice to see people stand up for content instead of grovel and retreat.
Now I want to get back to my Falcom backlog. Time for a roll.
1-4 Sen no Kiseki
5-0 Ys Felghana nightmare mode
I brought up the Sailor Moon Crystal reboot at the dinner table when visiting my family (because my stepmother grew up with that shit and my dad was into anime and kung-fu when it was popular); long story short my dad went into this long rant about how Sailor Moon was softcore porn made by creepy old men.
I told him that even if that was true it was still made by a woman and sold to young girls.
>people in this thread actually willing to buy the game instead of pirating it if a giveaway didn't exist
What happened to you /v/?
what in the actual fuck is wrong with you
Have fun when you get here.
I guess I'll go kick Istersiva's ass first then go for Sen no Kiseki. I hope my ass is ready for danmaku worm.
Before today, no one on /v/ gave a shit about Gurumin, and now suddenly there are multiple threads that have reached autosaged in less than 2 hours.
What the fuck is going on here? I thought this game was niche as hell.
>I would like to be human - Keith
>Adol and Lilia under an umbrella
I love the details put to these illustrations
Some of my earliest exposure to the internet was a friend of mine showing me Sailor Moon hentai on a Web TV, telling me how that's what the show was in Japan and it was all chopped up and censored for the west. Good times.
Like it or not, people here gets introduced to videogames via Steam. Almost no one gave a shit about Ys or Falcom games in general before it got released on Steam.
It's good that Falcom games are getting exposure one way or another. But I'm not sure how I feel about people only caring about games only because it's on Steam.
People care about Falcom games no matter the system, it's just a PC version is way more exciting than a console one.
I always knew that Gurumin PC was going to be released on English anyway. So I chose to wait.
>mfw Falcom has collaborated with Userjoy before on a Three Kingdoms game on PC in 2004
>mfw they're teaming up again to make a new Trails game for the PC right now
