All cancer. People say GG out of common courtesy whether the match was good or not, if you believe or try to find some malice behind their reasoning you need to grow the fuck up and put on your big boy pants.
It's true I do, losers who say "gg" to the winning team that beat them 7:1 are the most annoying fucking people. Whether its done out of "politeness" or because they're some faggot who was only playing for fun, as if getting completely destroyed without any hope of winning is fun.
It may be a common courtesy, but the context it is being used in (unfair or 1 sided matches) is warping it. If you and your team utterly destroy the opposing team you might as well apologize for fucking their shit up
I hate that too, I can almost hear them, in their squeaky voices:
>G-Good game guys... boy... this game sure is f-fun when you're not playing it to w-win!.... *sobbing commences*
I fucking hate that; be honest with yourselves you pussies!
yep. take heed of this post you scrubs. keeping levelheaded after a match even after triumph or if you're sore is one way to get better. know and respect your enemy through courtesy and dig your way out of scrubdom you bitchy ass niggas.
It should be used whenever you think it was a good game. Why the fuck do kids take this as some massive insult? Have you been mentally trained to assume all compliments as sarcasm and insult?
You could be acknowledging that the other team played well.
Even if you lose, even badly, it's possible to have fun, try out new tactics and shit.
Unless your team is completely shit, then I don't know. But you can be completely outplayed and still consider the game to have been a good one.
>It should be used whenever you think it was a good game.
And tell me, how is it not condescending to tell your opponent. "Hey guys, we beat you by fifty kills and you didn't stand a chance after ten minutes of gameplay. That sure was a good game wasn't it?"
That's what comes out from stating "gg" in those kind of matches.
>Be wise, noble, and courteous; emotions such as anger, irritation, stress and outrage at being cheated/outplayed/whatever cloud the mind and prevent you from being an aloof internet-samurai-kun like me!
I hate this shit too. From personal experience and watching others - the whole facade of levelheadedness will crack when you lose enough consistently. If someone says otherwise, it means that they are either lying or they haven't tried anything new or in an environment hostile enough to warrant it.
Well these guys don't understand or don't wish to acknowledge such things. They need their validation of superiority and if the other team isn't angry how are they supposed to feel good about themselves?
Social cues and context are near non-existent in text-based communications. If GG is being said because that person enjoyed the match, yes I can understand.
But a valid argument can be said for the players that did NOT enjoy the match, the losers in particular.
They could be unhappy because their team didn't support them, they didn't get their times worth out of the match, or they were just powerless to affect a positive outcome.
The point is you can't say GG when it is very possible it wasn't a GG for the losers. If you're saying Get Good, then you're just projecting animosity; the losers either don't need reminding OR it was not their skill that failed the team.
So you're telling me you lack the ability to figure simple concepts like "maybe they might not have enjoyed having been my bitch for the last 30 minutes."
or you just don't care in which case you might as well just go "ez" or whatever other comment to purposefully piss off the losing team.
If someone just says it when they win, then it seems like poor sportsmanship. I tend to say gg if it's a legitimately good match, something hectic, and really memorable. Sometimes, if the players make it interesting enough, even losing doesn't feel so bad because it was very fucking fun.
In Mario Kart 8, there are some real faggots that just stomp their feet and scream "NO FAIR!" every time they get in a low place, and only say good game when place in 2nd or 1st. Those are the worst kind of people.
>people who whine and bitch are bad!
>git gud u fukin scrubs!
The hypocrisy is astounding. Nice try at sounding e-tuff though.
>That's right - if you don't like my rules get on out! Yeah! Scrub bitch! YEAH!
>...That showed 'em!
>Spend two decades playing only old arena shooters.
>Decide to try Battlefield: Mad Company 2 to see what all the fuss on modern shooters is about.
>Shitty game. Shitty netcode. Noskill 1-hit kill weapons.
>Completely wreck the other team.
>Everyone on my team with a bad score chats "ez" or "easy".
>My first encounter with this unsportsmanlike shit.
So that "easy" stuff happens in other games as well?
I still play Mad Company 2. Smoke sniping, kiddie tears and Russian engrish is pretty fun.
I do this in all competitive P2W games I have when I see F2P clog up an entire team with one non-scrub.
>tfw their rage is real
So /v/ what am I allowed to say after I win? Anything? Can I even shake an opponents hand?
Am I just supposed to scream "GIT GUD FAGGOT"? Christ, only on this shit hole is good sportsmanship considered offensive.
Yeah, of course you'd like that.
And you fail to see the perspective of your opponents.
Here's an example:
Imagine you're a player on Germany's FIFA World Cup team when they beat Brazil 7-1 yesterday.
Now imagine you broadcast GG to the opposing team.
Can you comprehend the amount of hatred and possible physical violence you are allowing to manifest towards you?
There is a time and place for GG.
Curbstomps and 1-sided slaughters are not any of those.
>want to re-download all my Rustle h-manga
>costs too many points on exhentai
>will have to run torrents overnight to even stand a chance of getting it all done in a timely manner
Tell me this, do you honestly believe when you weren't challenged in the slightest and completely dominated your enemy that this was a good game for everyone. I mean if you're going out of the way to tell the losing team "good game" it has to be because you honestly believe that they found dying dozens of times to you and never once killing you was a fun game for them too right?
Because that's what we've been talking about. No one here has said that you can't say "gg" when a match was close and both sides had a chance at winning; in fact nearly everyone says that's a good thing. The arguement was about one-sided curbstomps.
I dunno, I don't save thank-yous and stuff for the end and instead call out nice kills/deaths/plays out as they happen. Something like "Nice shot" in reference to a specific player after getting hit in the head after fierce gunfight, etc.
I don't share the sentiment, but as I understand it, some people in the thread find saying "gg" in obviously lopsided games to be incredibly dishonest or patronizing.
I wouldn't take it as offence, but I wouldn't say "gg" to a team but by 100-0 myself. Honestly,if that were the case I would say something like "that game sucked" or "teams were unbalanced". Something that doesn't imply either was playing unfairly or without skill, but doesn't just pretend that things were fair either.
Best response though is not to say shit at all.
>griefer TKing my team and says "lel" after every kill
>kill him twice even though he fights back
>he silently leaves
>follow him to another server with friendly fire
>kill him two more times
>he quits playing
>"is he going to shit talk me or something?"
>ExTrEmE KiLlAsZ wuld lik to recrut u 4 a mlg clan, we r hardcore and u play like how we want
I would have preferred to get called a faggot than read that
gl;hf was originally used ironically for when people are doing stupid shit
like back in the day if there was a scientology raid and one of them tried to say they'd have 4chan shut down for it, then it would be time for a gl;hf
>Some guy shoots my m8 to death
>Turn around and blow his ammo.
>He respawns and does a no damage shot on me.
>Blow his ammo again.
>He has no tanks left and leaves
>communicating at all
>getting so assblasted about those meanies on your screengames that you have to shit up /v/ to blow off steam
Let's get this shit started
>losing game because its still early
>broodmother keeps trashtalking us
>its a furry
>furfag keeps saying "ez, why try?, gg, noobs" goes on for 10 minutes
>we're just passive aggressive
>axe and me(ursa) gets blademail then stall game for 20 more minutes
>clash one more time in their 3rd tower at mid
>they lose it and we start tearing the rack's apart
>furfag was silent waiting to respawn
>he respawns and dies once more because he's a retard to go alone
>we trashtalk them while getting the throne
>say "look at this big mouth brood" "GG EZ"
>"You're an asshole ursa" in all chat
I love that feel but really, fucking assholes who trashtalk while in game
>Playing MAG (back when I could aim with sticks).
>Get a clan invite AFTER EVERY MATCH.
>Finally give in after a year or two to an "elite" clan filled with only the best players.
>Completely destroy everything.
>Entire clan's interest in the game dies off after 4 months.
Because they're looking for any reason to make their loss not look bad on them, and if they can convince themselves that the enemy team are assholes then it makes them feel better about themselves so they do it constantly.
Because I had fun. It doesn't need to be a good game for you for me to say it. That's why I said it and you didn't.
Why does it anger you if I had fun? If "gg" upsets you then you honestly should not play competitive games. You are too thin skinned and irritable for it.
Ok then, just hope you don't believe saying that is sportsmanlike behavior or the other bullshit that people defending "gg" in curbstomps claim.
It's not, you're saying gg because you had fun and either you are trying to piss off the enemy or you don't give a fuck about their feelings and want to stroke your own ego.
News flash, nobody gives a shit about that. Nobody except you, that is. You're that insecure about yourself, holy shit lmao. Your skills don't magically move away if you're recorded other than what you really are.
Had a csgo match yesterday which ended 16:14 for me and my team and i said "easy as fuck" on the mic and some german guy from the other team started cursing me in german and a bit in english.
>"EASY AS FUCK?WHAT WAS EASY AS FUCK, ITS 16:14 YOU BARELY BEAT US"
>type ez l2p in chat
>guy gets super mad and starts swearing in german
>say good game at the end with a negro hug type of thing
>say good game at the end with a hand shake
>play a fighting game in person
>say good game at the end with fistbump
>play any other type of video game on line
>can't say good game because people may get upset
Why the hell are you all such pussies?
>all this projecting and assuming
I never said I did it for any of those reasons. You are fighting a false stance you put up yourself. I say GG to be courteous. If you are offended by it, get over it or quit competitive games because they are not meant for you.
See you next time
Good Game used to be just a signal from the opponent to say "You've already won we can as well end this." or a way to say you enjoyed the game, and it always come from the loser first.
I don't understand where this sportsmanship bullshit came from, GG said just for the hell of it, especially from the winning team, is offensive and aggravating and it's just a way to get on your opponent's nerves without having the balls to actually be offensive.
>say gg in a moba after dominating the other team
>get reported for bad sportsmanship
>muh toxic community. i swear both
LoL and Dota 2 are such carebears when it comes to chat.
>beat my friends in co-op in person
>sometimes I say "gg"
>hate myself immediately afterwards
You asked how it was a good game for you. At what point do you need to have done good for it to be a good game?
Again, why does this offend you? Stop reading into things that aren't there. If anything I'm just gonna say it more because it angers autistic people. And yes, I believe you legitimately suffer from autism.
>friend gets into League of Legends
>he becomes absorbed by it and stops all contact with non-LoL players
>Completely stomp enemy team
>Say "gg was close" in all chat
>Collect anal tears
>You're an american i swear!!!!
Sure m8 what ever makes you happy
>Invading niggas and spilling blood
>Invaded the world of xDoom ATHEISTx
>Full Havels with Smelter Helm and Gower's Ring
>Already has up GMB, SO, Affinity and double buffed Helix+Mastodon
>Keeps tanking and Estusing through my punches
>Two shots me and spams "Welcome" gesture
>If anything I'm just gonna say it more because it angers autistic people.
Wow anon, you sure are proving that you only do it to be a courteous sportsmanlike player.
And yeah I probably do have undiagnosed autism, I don't give a fuck. It also doesn't change that saying gg in curbstomps is either being provocative, stroking your ego, or simply lacking empathy for your opponent.
this. it's common fucking courtesy, have you never done anything competitive in your lives? stop being women, you're probably even worse than women because at least female athletes can shake hands without someone crying about it
>It also doesn't change that saying gg in curbstomps is either being provocative, stroking your ego, or simply lacking empathy for your opponent.
nigger have you played a sport? that's fucking standard, it's what people fucking do.
Atleast you understand the reason you get upset by a normal courteous compliment is because of your inability to understand basic social cues and mannerisms. You shouldn't expect the world to change because you suffer a mental disability.
Good game, by the way.
>"good luck and have fun everypony!
>Start 2v2 match
>opponents favored on load up screen
>"GL HF ;)" from opponents
>team mate is bronze scrub nub
>I proceed to stop canon rush at both bases.
>utterly rape both opponents
>"gg ;)" from me
>team mate congratulates me
Moments like that are why I still play SC2. feels so fucking good.
>it's common fucking courtesy
Maybe in an established match between two teams. Saying it at the end of a meaningless pub match makes you look like a tool, unless the match was actually noteworthy in some way.
Because people who have spent their adolesence growing up on 4chan have a warped sense of ethics and incorrectly assume ulterior meanings in simple compliments. They are so used to sarcasm and rudeness on 4chan that they now expect it everywhere and go out of their way to find it even when it doesn't exist.
>he says while there's 3 furry threads up right now
I always question people who cry about "pedo" on /v/ when it's pretty rare. Yet they never ever bitch about the 5-6 furry threads up.
>god this team is shit christ
>faggot is in last place on the scoreboard
If I'm a moron tell me why. Tell me why I should be able to lose gracefully in a physical game, be sportsmanlike and take my loss as a man for saying good game, but when it's online, I should bitch and be a humungous pussy about someone being mean to me when they say good game? Why is this a thing?
Also the same faggot
>shit I'm the bottom rank on my team
>guess I'll just sit in spawn and do nothing and wait to die
Closed-source clients using proprietary protocols to connect to un-auditable servers owned by a company which developed the game and sponsored the tournament != sport. It would be like requiring permission from FIFA to play soccer in your back yard. There is so much wrong with "e-sports" it's laughable that anyone takes them seriously.
Oh, excuse me, sir. How was that respectable again? Feel free to cherry pick the earning of top 1% "professional" gamers, and I will show you the earnings of top 1% a real athlete who easily earn ten folds that.
>puttig your dick on children
>not harming them
I'd fuck her
It doesn't need to be an "esport" to be competitive. When anything is competitive, you be a good sport about it. Have you ever watched competitive anything? Baseball? Chess? Magic the Gathering? MOBA? Fighting games? They fucking shake hands and say good game afterwards.
>we need tank
>gg no gank mid
>gg report mid nub no gank ajajaja
>raping animals against their will
>Why is this a thing?
The majority of /v/ are betamaxes filled with passive-aggressive teenage angst. Common sense, decency, courtesy, and sportsmanship are rarities here.
/v/ is /b/2.0 enough said
>liking animals but irl they fuck each others boipussies
>liking kids bur irl they fuck them and destroy their lifes
yeah! jail for people who fuck each other assholes.
btw I'm a ponyfags,I don't even have to defends furries since I'm not.
Probably because you'll still be interacting with them for a few minutes after the match. If they see you getting mad over a meaningless game you have to deal with either their disappointing looks or perhaps even hostile reaction to your bad sportsmanship; which obviously someone who gets mad at losing a game wouldn't want to experience.
Online, you lose you can bitch at them and end the game and never see them again. Even if they try to friend list you to send you hate mail you can choose to ignore it; plus it has no way of harming you.
What do you say to this?
I find myself using it in ASSFAGGOTS whenever my team feeds hard.
Please get me out of this hell. I can't find any other competitive team game. CSGO can fuck itself.
>lol get a life loser
>he beats you
>GET REKT BITCH LMAO OWNED4LYFE
Because love and tolerance is the only thing keeping them from drinking bleach.
Why does anyone have to say anything at all? The best matches are where neither team talks to each other before or after.
LMAO this is too much.
Do you tell that to your workmates? Your family? If you are not socially functional, you are probably not qualified to talk about beliefs of honor, sportsmanship, and morals. They'd be a little bit jaded. Just sayan.
you're the cancer and you know it.
>being a human being
>having sexual needs
>I-I won't fuck her/him mom!
You should be killed and you know it. You already know you don't have cure, why live anon? just for destroying kid lifes?
>recognizing best horse
please contain your cancer
I just need something to say after a match. I don't want to say they need improvement because I don't really care.
>Pick up sports with neighborhood people
>You know them
>They know you
>You all bump around on the field together
>Whole experience is very personal
>Lasts maybe an hour
>Say GG at end
>Pick up online videogame
>A matchmaker system put you together
>Match only lasts a few minutes
>You never actually see anyone else
>You're just sitting at home on your couch/at your computer
>Match ends and you move on to the next one
>Whole experience was very impersonal
Yeah its the same thing.
>Some faggot russian says "nice ))" after killing me first kill at the start of the match because my support wouldn't extend with me.
>Completely fucking ass dominate him out straight.
>Proceed to go 26-2
>say nice )) everytime I kill him
>his face when 2-13
>tfw when you left it all behind last year but you still get off to these pics sometimes.
does the ride ever truly end?
>loli will never return to /v/
thanks, i haven't visited mulp since a long time ago when i started watching anime again in daily basis. I miss my horseniggers ;_;
fuck you, now I remember when mlp wasn't that "blue board" we have now. When nsfw-ish pictures were still allowed and we have those funny threads fapping and discussing our best horses.
Fuck you jannie.
I went back like week ago just to see what was going on and it was just all generals for shit I didn't recognize. I did watch that 4chan cup game though shit was amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gW_AyshKhg
But yeah I'm never going back to watching that shit.
>But yeah I'm never going back to watching that shit.
Some chapters from S1 are still great imo.
Discussion are over on mlp, it's like we just have to wait until mlp is over on hub and then close the board.
I can't handle it yet ;_;
Nah, I'm leaning on the side that they're tired of your shit. You can feel free to ask them next time you say "honor is bullshit just like you having to had raising me for free is", to your dad, though.
Well, bronies took over the thread. Time to go.
>just started playing this week
>me and friend are playing Phantom Assassin, and the two headed dragon
>third teammate is that venom-spitting reptile
>two teammates leave
>they are at our ancient
>it's all over
>some faggot playing Riku keeps making snarky comments every time he kills someone while they're fighting two other guys at once
>mfw I severely misunderstood the power of the PA and I tore through all five in a few seconds
>we push through mid
>I kill the three who bought back in
>friends die and can't buy in
>it may actually be over
>none of them can actually make it past me
>i just kill them and then slowly chop away at the ancient
It was fun.
This world cup will probably be this old man's last and it makes me sad that he will never see his country succeed at the only thing they're good at.
He seemed so excited to celebrate today, too. It was probably the only thing he looked forward to these past few years.
I only say gg if I thought it was a genuinely good match. I don't like saying it after every single fucking match because then it just loses its meaning.
The worst thing is when some smug guy on a winning team says 'gg' before the match is even over in the way that means "lol I know I'm going to win." It's even better when I turn it around and beat their ass and they just leave quietly.
Wtf, look at her eyes. Her expression doesn't match the one in the mirror.
No, it doesn't, look at the eyebrows. They arch up towards the center of the original's face to show apprehension, but they arch down in the reflection for a more neutral expression.
Eh? Both eyebrows in the mirror are arched down and much lower than the original's. I know it's a minor thing, but it just looks like a tame version of the horror movie "reflection with a mind of its own" cliche.
>Super close match
>everyone says GG
>get added by everyone in the match
>still play with them regularly
actually reminds me of some shit-tier tf2 streamer i came across today, dude thinks he's some sort of pubstar overlord and had an excuse and insult for everyone on his team literally every time he died
apparently he is butthurt as shit every stream, joined the server he was on and fucked with him for an hour or so before getting him banned
>doing 1v1 arenas to get better at my class
>couple people absolutely shit on me
>finally start getting good
>very close match with one of the more difficult to fight people
Say, "Wow great match"
Receive, "wow you fucking garbage why do you even queue, how is it even fun for you"
:( why do people have to be mad
>I have a pony ult specifically to do this and be obnoxiously upbeat and spam emicons and compliments to all sides using the pony qualifier and referencing their cutie marks
I think I understand why they have lasted this long. The hate is so powerful you can almost sustain yourself on it like a life force. This may be how a lich obtains immortally.
>start up smite
>join siege queue
>ready my call
>"i'll do adc"
>pick anhur, wait a few moments in case anybody objects, lock in
>random guy fucking loses it
>"FUCK YOU FAGGOT"
>"KILL YOURSELF I HATE PEOPLE WHO CALL SHIT AND INSTALOCK"
>cry harder nigger
>"YOURE A B I T C H"
>game starts, he feeds and we still win
I get it
Butt seriously, /v/ has made him think cynicism is the correct way to approach all video games. Its funny that for someone who loves video games so much, none of my friends like to play with him because of his attitude during matches.
Don't be a faget, /v/. Stay gold.
the only time i actually talk to people in multiplayer games is to tell them to uninstall it, eat nigger shit and take the loss like they deserve, or that they need to get good
i wanna chill with this nigger, where are you in every one of my matches and why are you on the opposite team
then what should they say? "suck my stone cold dick bitch"? "team confirmed for being a faggot" "team is gay" "Butt hurt over us patronizing you?" "Get over your autism man its just a game" Or maybe something else? What do you think OP?
>tfw germany didn't even say gg after playing against Brazil
>Saying GG ez after you curbstomp some faggot that was talking shit all game
>Some guy is stuck with support
>Goes some random shit that isnt a support
>Team 'play a support and follow the meta'
>Guy: 'its only norms who cares?'
>Our team has people afk
>The people that are playing are suffering from severe lag
>The enemy team has a hacker
>Obviously they destroy us
lol, it's not "warping it" though. It's still "gg" because both teams fought with the best technology and knowledge of the game they had to cope with and the better team STILL WON. They EARNED that victory.
Even if it was malicious here and there and a way to mock you for losing, in 90% of cases it's not and those faggots won't last long in the community.
>only play with friends
>used to all play competetive
>curbstomp anyone we play against
>new goal of each game is to see how quickly we can make them all rage quit
>we win everytime
So which is it? And why is this picture named gg2?
>get stuck in a long ass game for more than an hour
>some retard makes a really fucking dumb mistake
>we lose because of this
>'its just a normal :)'
Why do you people get upset at videogames?
