DaS was a Walmart brand copy of DeS
DaS2 was random video game they slapped the title Dark Souls on
Dark Souls 3 was a Walgreens brand copy of DaS

Bloodborne isn't in the souls franchise, so naturally it's just as good as DeS

DeS, DaS and BB are the best.
Sequels were a mistake.

Titan Xp (the latest Nvidia card), i7 4790k, 16gb ram. Drivers are up to date. I was playing on a GTX 970 before, and had the same problem.

Play in the release order. Start with no mods - only latest patch, OR get the full "Starter Pack" first; these contain bug-fixers and light visual mods that can help performance as well.
Leave big overhauls for later playthrougs. Avoid the "Complete" -mods. Always play on MASTER difficulty for best realism and atmosphere, and disable crosshair.

Don't give up in the beginning! The starting gear sucks ass and first area can be a bit boring.

Some games, mods or projects that tend to tribute their series can be alright, if they're well done.
I like those who prefer to acknowledge the history of a series to the point they even hit the most obscure parts.
