Does anything else think the Souls series is the best IP to release since the 90s? I love the games, and I know I'm biased, but nothing hits the spot like a Souls game. It's everything I love, from the art direction, to the musical style chosen, to the slow paced gameplay. Shits perfection for me.

What's more impressive to me is that the concept isn't that unique, but the way the game handles itself is what sets it apart. The whole swords and sorcery shtick has been done a thousand times before, but in DS the world manages to feel so unique.
The difficulty of the game itself helps characterize the world around it. When a random bloke in a deserted town says there are huge demons above and below you, that tends to carry more weight since you know the game itself is very hard on the player.

Turns out the suits were right again. It's uncanny how much they know what players want than actual players. Everyone here says they hate always online drm, microtransactions, not being able to mod teame or createtir own servers and what not, but games like Overwatch thrive while games like Renegade-X die without ever taking off. Kotick was right in so many things.

I work in mobile gaming and I can't fucking stand it dude. I thought it was just a stereotype but almost every single mobile game dev rattles off constantly about how mobile rules the game industry and that hardcore gamers just don't understand the appeal of mobile and shit. They're always talking shit about how they own the market while 90% of them have failing games and only ever copy whoever's currently winning.
It's seriously one of the most pathetic displays I've ever seen, you can find pond scum with more dignity than a mobile game developer.

You are supposed to enjoy a game if you're going to spend time trying to be good at it, if you don't that just makes you a bad at taking decisions. The more you play the more chances are you grow bored of the game. LEAVE IT. Now just because I don't grow bored and seek to win that means Im a tryhard. If I want to pick a champion that's in the Meta to win, that's okay, UNLESS you have absolutely no fun with it, simple enough.
