I know the "S" in SRPG is transliterated as "simulation", but who the fuck actually calls them simulation RPGs? I just call strategy RPGs, because it makes more sense. I understand that they're supposed to be simulations of warfare, but the term "simulation" in regards to video games connotes something more along the lines of a life sim, business sim, flight sim, etc. Even western wargames like RTS/grand strategy, which typically have a degree of more realism than Japanese games, aren't really referred to as simulations.

So I've played Chrono Trigger and Kingdom but I've never gotten into the more weeb JRPGs, the furthest I've gone has been Tales of the Abyss which was kinda weird. What are some easy to get into JRPGs that are actually /good/? I need either a really strong story or cool gameplay ideas to really get hooked, what would /v/ recommend?

No, you should come up with a better tactic. And in FE it's recommended that you restart from the very start of the game when you get a game over.

I like this kind of indie game, the sort built around novel gameplay mechanics or physics. Cortex Command, Hammerfight, and the upcoming Noita are other examples.
