People take advantage of every system, it just means there needs to be proper quality control in place. Bethesda's system specifically addresses this issue

Last time it happened many modders came out and said their work will be permanently free, and you have to go through an approval process to even apply to work in the new Bethesda system

Metro looked pretty decent, although all the cinematic nonsense has me a bit concerned. Wolfenstein looked like it had serious Fallout 4 vibes and will probably be absolute shit unfortunately.

You see... I've been working on a project lately and want some feedback on it. I'm already expecting to get flamed, but ehh, I wouldn't be posting on 4chan if I couldn't handle it for the good advice I might get too.
So my project is called... Kingdom Hearts: Void Quest.
Yeah, that's right, a game set in the KH universe. Obviously I don't own the rights to do something like that but I have a game plan that goes like this-
Step 1:
>Write out the story and script in full
>Make a list of all the enemies/items/whatever
>Draw up art assets and maps
Basically everything but the programming since I have no idea how to do stuff like that.
Step 2:
>Start a Patreon for people who want to look at this "design works" and other stuff I make.
>Recruit some guys to program the game since most of the work will already be done
>Pay them with the $ from Patreon until we get a good looking demo running
Step 3:
>Contact Nomura and show him the game.
>Pray to God that he let's me release the game on the condition I make no money from it
>Pray that enough people like it and hype it up that he gets his team to professionally remake the game on consoles, at which point I get royalties
I know it sounds absolutely crazy, and trust me I know it is, but it isn't impossible. Look at One punch Man, for example, it was just some comic drawn by an awful artist and now it has a fantastic anime and manta. I want to be the next guy to pull off something like that.

On to the actual game itself though...
This is the protag, Xero, a nobody on a quest to find his heartless. He was going to be brought into the Organization at one point but Xemnas deemed him too weak.
The only reason he gave him a name at all is because he saw him use what I call "Nihil Mode" on some heartless right after he was born. It is the manifestation of the desire for a heart (he really doesn't have one unlike Org13 which is why none of them used the power) that releases crazy strong power, putting him on tier with, say, full power Roxas.
This power can't be used often though and when he isn't using it he isn't much stronger than a normal Samurai nobody. His element is "Void" too so at the start of the game he can't do any magic and his main power is being unnoticeable (hence
him not being mentioned in the games so far isn't a plot hole). Nobody notices me so he is very stealthy and after being abandoned in Twilight Town goes about stealing things, looking for his heart to fill the emptiness.
Eventually he sees that things won't do it, so he sets out to find Kingdom Hearts like Xemnas did. This leads him to the Keyblade grave yard where he finds a tiny fragment of the X-blade that stood between the light and dark fragments. This grants him a small dagger like keyblade and keyblade armor in the form of the mask.
He sets out to kill heartless and control hearts with this new power. He mostly jumps between Twilight Town, Traverse Town, The World that Never Was, and Radiant Garden (the Disney worlds just wouldn't fit with the tone I want and it'll make it easier to sell Nomura on it if he doesn't have to deal with them on it.).

In each world Xero gets a partner to help him out and teach him new skills, Vivi for magic in Twilight Town, Neku for combat in Traverse Town, etc, but he can also go solo to steal stuff and gather info. Even with a semi-keyblade he still isn't that strong (outside of Nihil mode) so fighting heartless alone might go south.
I have a lot of the details worked out in my head as to what happens in each world, but this is getting really long so I'll cut it short. Any questions or suggestions?
