Summoning isn't an ability.
You get ifrit's summon stone but he's not summonable.
There is no snowy area (There is a large part of the map covered with snow but its not playable, all you get is one ice cave)
Aesthetic is too modern. I prefer medieval era final fantasy titles.
If it was gonna be a modern era, I'd have preferred FFVIII remake.

I agree with the note thing, but not only because its more of a challenge but because it's easier to keep track of the notes you missed. In the 360 version if you left out a single note in a level you were fucked and had to spend hours trying to find it again. I wish they would at least give the option to not save the notes.

I'm playing Bamham the First for the first time.
Goddamn I love it. The level design is complex with a great amount of attention to detail. Characters are interesting and the biographies help flashing them out for anyone who hasn't read the comics. Scenery is varied, original (that Scarecrow fight). The pacing is godlike, getting upgrades (gadgets) progressively reminds me of Metroid/Castlevania.
But I have one gripe with the game. What's that combat system? There's only three combinations you need to defeat any enemy: Counter, then hit; Stun, then hit; Let them run into walls, then hit. It's repetitious and boring. This is especially surprising because I had heard about how innovative the combat system was supposed to be before starting playing Bamham.
